CMLL (MON) 05/21/2012 Arena Puebla [Espectáculos Del Cuadrilátero]
1) Tigre Rojo & Tigre Rojo Jr. b King Jaguar & Sauron
Tigres took falls 1/3.
2) Amapola, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany b Estrellita, Luna Mágica, Marcela
Rudas took 2/3, with Tiffany beating Marcela in the third.
3) Arissma, Asturiano, Espiritu Maligno, Lestat, Milenium, Stigma b Dragon Lee, Hombre Bala Jr., Pegasso, Puma King, Skándalo, Súper Comando [cibernetico]
Puebla vs DF cibernetico. There was nearly a brawl before the match, and Pegasso tried to make peace between the sides. Eliminations were Millenium (Super Comando), Hombre Bala (Espiritu Maligno), Puma King (Asturiano), Arissma (Super Comando), Espiritu Maligno (Skandalo), Pegasso (Stigma), Skandalo (also Stigma!), Arissma and Puma King eliminated each other on a double countout, Stigma (Dragon Lee), Lestat (pulling Dragon Lee’s mask to pin him.) Everyone argued post match, leading to the cage match next week.
4) Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Psicosis b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., La Sombra
Rudos took 2/3, Psicosis pinning Delta in the last.
5) Atlantis DQ Volador Jr.
Atlantis had issues with Volador and Tirantes. Volador took the first, Atlantis took the second. Volador found the strechered and started hitting Atlantis with it. (Proof he’s a Parka!) Atlantis grabbed the strecher, so Volador used a cameraman as a human shield. Both went for the masks. No pinfall, instead Psicosis, Mr. Aguila and Olimpico all attacking Atlantis. Sombra, Guerrero Maya and Delta ran out for the saves, but the rudos destroyed them and took their masks. Invasors challenged for a trios title match.

CMLL (TUE) 05/22/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Virgo b Thunder Boy
2) Hombre Bala Jr., Metatrón, Starman b Demonio Maya, Magnum, Rey Trueno
3) Gallo, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. DRAW Espectrum, Misterioso Jr., Rey Escorpion
Gallo & Misterioso feuded. Sagrado & Escorpion double pinned for the draw. This sets up a rematch last week.
4) Dragón Rojo Jr. & Volador Jr. b La Máscara & La Sombra
Rudos took 1/3, Dragon on Sombra and Volador on Mascara. That last sets up a rematch. Best match of the night.
5) Atlantis DQ Mr. Niebla
Atlantis took 2/3, Mr. Niebla pulled Atlantis’ mask.
There were messages on Twitter saying Hombre Bala Jr. looked out of it. The Fuego en el Ring recap doesn’t even hint in that direction. His match may air on La Luchas at some point.
CMLL (TUE) 05/22/2012 Arena Mexico [@robviper, CMLL, Kaiser Sports (1-3, 6), Kaiser Sports (7)]
1) Apocalipsis & Zayco b Bengala & Freesbe
2) Metálico, Sensei, Super Halcon Jr. b Artillero, Disturbio, Súper Comando
Tecnicos took 2/3. Metalico pinned Super Comando while Sensei held off Disturbio in a Tarantula.
3) Fuego, Rey Cometa, Titán b Hooligan, Loco Max, Skándalo
Tecnicos took 1/3. Fuego armbared Hooligan, Rey Cometa 450 splashed Loco Max. Loco Max hung out with a Porra Tuareg!
4) Euforia b Triton [En Busca de un Idolo]
Euforia scored 34 points, Triton got 24.
5) Dragon Lee b Niebla Roja [En Busca de un Idolo]
Dragon Lee scored 31 points in judging, Niebla Roja 28.
6) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Yujiro b Diamante Azul, Máximo, Rush
Yujiro went after Rush. Rudos took 1/3, Yujiro pinning Rush in the third.
7) Máscara Dorada b Psicosis [CMLL WELTER]
Kraneo, Mije, and Triton were seconds. Psicosis is wearing the original Psicosis colors (and wig), as is the original Psicosis in AAA. Confusing! Dorada took fall 1/3 to to keep his title. Dorada said he’d like to be in a major mask match this year.
I haven’t had a chance to grab the YouTube links (or finish my own!) but the Busca matches are indeed up. The speed on the uploads has been really fast the last couple of weeks, and hopefully they keep showing up for the rest of the tournament.
CMLL announced the final point totals for Un Busca de un Idolo this afternoon
293 Titan
238 Diamante
236 Euforia
229 Dragon Lee
—–
226 Niebla Roja
206 Puma King
196 Triton
165 Polvora
Niebla Roja narrowly missed advancing. He did get 39 out of a possible 40 points on the poll. Dragon Lee apparently leaped (springboarded?) ahead of Puma King sometime this morning, grabbing 23 points to Puma’s 16. That 7 point flip made the difference.
Polvora won 2 matches, and finished last. Titan won 1 match and drew another and finished first. I love the efforts of Porra Titan, but as a person who thinks winning should be the point, I am not fond of these rules for a sporting contest. It is interesting to see that, as much as the rudos are supported louder during at the shows, the people who voted in the polls were mostly behind the tecnicos. Niebla Roja did well at the end, though there did seem to be some Angel de Plata fans backing him strongly. It didn’t really effect Euforia, and Puma had more problems with winning matches, but had Polvora managed to finish middle of the pack in the poll, he wouldn’t be so embarassingly in last.
CMLL has not listed which people will be teaming with Ultimo Guerrero and Atlantis. They were probably hoping for two tecnicos and two rudos to make it easy. I’d put Titan with Euforia and Ultimo Guerrero for fun. No idea how the semimain will work, but normal seeding set up Titan/Dragon Lee and Euforia/Diamante (and most likely Euforia vs Dragon Lee as a final, though that’s not a sure bet.)
Rey Escorpion says his match with Black Warrior is the most important of his career. No disagreement there. Escorpion says Warrior has an advantage, having been in big matches in Arena Mexico before, but he’s not bothered.
The Traumas explain they were supposed to go to CZW in May, but paperwork issues prevented it. The concept of CZW and paperwork has just blown my mind.
Mr. Niebla, in hyping up his two singles matches this week in Guadalajara, says he’s more popular than Atlantis, and Rush has no idea what he’s doing. To be fair, I’m not sure Niebla knows what he’s doing half the time either. (And that’s why I hope that match turns up somehow, it could be amazing.)
Stuka calls Sangre Azteca a traitor, and demands a mask match with him. He’d also take a mask match with both Sangre and Misterioso.
The GONG network in France will start airing CMLL next Monday. The show is called “MINIS EXTRAVAGANZA”, with just mini matches from 2010 and 2011. Last year was not much of a year for the minis, but I recall 2010 being fun (Demus is going to win his way off the show!), and I’ve never heard of a just minis shows before.
Rob has highlights of 06/24/11 CMLL and Joe Lider doing something stupid.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and Psycho Circus, Super Crazy, Euforia, Zorro and Ephesto.
