recap

taped 2012-03-30 @ Auditorio General José María Arteaga, Queretaro

armdrag (eventually)

Alex Guajarado & Golden King vs Galaxy & Von Draker : random indy match shown on TV. They weren’t useless but no great desire to see these guys on TV again.

Cuervo, El Elegido, Ozz vs Chessman, Silver King, Último Gladiador : This was an attempt to do an all action match and it just didn’t come off that way. Idea seemed to make Maniacos look impressive by giving them a win, but it didn’t feel like they got much more than that in this match. Rudos beatdown wasn’t that impressive and the técnicos took most of the rest, plus there were timings problems. Just because I haven’t mentioned it for a while, this is just a reminder: announcers still do not know the names of moves. They think they know and are actually saying nonsense words which only makes everything coming off poorly. They’d be better making up their own unique lingo then trying to using English words and getting half of them confused.

Heavy Metal may be hurt, but he's leaving fancy

Drago, Electroshock, Heavy Metal vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Texano, Toscano : The better trios match of the show (at least among new stuff.) Heavy Metal was feeling it, which is difference making in side like this. Toscano still is really good as a rudo, as it Texano. Mascara working with Wagner almost makes sense here; he was not skilled at taking Drago’s moves, so maybe he’d be better off working with a heavyweight. I know Semental would’ve been a lot better here.

taped 1996-07-15 @ Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas
Perro Aguayo Sr., Villano III, Villano IV vs Cibernético, Octagón, Psicosis in a relevos increíbles match : Out of context, a completely weird match to show. It’s not very good and it has little to do with what’s going on. I presume they wanted to show a vintage Psicosis TripleMania match and there isn’t many for them to chose from. He wasn’t on TripleMania I, his TripleMania II-B, II-C, III-B, and III-C matches all include El Hijo del Santo (so that’s a no), the other IV match was a cage match (which may be too long) and he was gone after that. The only other choice was the only match he actually won during this period, TripleMania IIB teaming with Espectro Jr. & Satanico vs the Lizmarks & Tinieblas, and maybe Satanico is a no go too. This wasn’t the greatest start, but airing classic matches is a nice idea if they really want to make TripleMania XX meaningful.
