2) Fabi Apache & Mascarita Dorada b Mini Psicosis & Sexy Star

Not a sell out, but maybe 70-80% full. Much more than usual. This show may air on Noches de Coliseo, or they may be focusing on Konnan Big vs Simbolo (w/Konnan el Barbaro). They filmed interviews with Vampiro and Sexi Star making their picks for that match.

CMLL (TUE) 05/01/2012 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr., Molotov, Sensei vs Artillero, Bobby Zavala, Súper Comando
2) Eléctrico vs Último Dragoncito, Bam Bam, Astral, Fantasy, Pequeño Halcón, Aereo, Niño de Acero, Demus 3:16, Pierrothito, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Universo 2000, Mercurio [Mini Reyes del Aire]
3) Diamante vs Euforia [En Busca de Un Idolo]
4) Titán vs Niebla Roja [En Busca de Un Idolo]
5) Dragón Rojo Jr. & Último Guerrero vs Blue Panther & Diamante Azul [CMLL TAG]

Back to back mini ciberneticos is odd planning. There actually more rudos than tecnicso in the Reyes del Aire unless Nino de Acero has been flipped again. I believe that’s every mini on the roster; Shockercito hasn’t had a match since January, so he’s either injured or gone as well. This is also probably why, whatever’s actually going on with Bam Bam, CMLL hasn’t dropped him or turned him rudo – they don’t have many tecnicos left!

Diamante vs Euforia is the tallest possible En Busca de Un Idolo match.

Main event looks like defense count padding and no real shot of a title change. Teaming up the two Blue guys is amusing.

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 04/27/2012 Arena Mexico
***56th Arena Mexico Anniversary***
1) Astral & Eléctrico vs Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito
2) Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Sangre Azteca vs Hooligan, Loco Max, Skándalo
3) Black Warrior, La Máscara, Valiente vs Rey Escorpion, Vangelis, Virus
4) Triton vs Puma King [En Busca de Un Idolo]
5) Dragon Lee vs Pólvora [En Busca de Un Idolo]
6) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Shocker vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
7) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger [CMLL TRIOS]
Marco Corleone, Rush, and Maximo are the trios champs

These went up early Tuesday morning, if you’re keeping track. 7 matches means Televisa and Fox Sports can continue to have two (or more?) matches while preserving the En Busca de un Idolo matches for C3. At least it works number of match size – it would seem the matches themselves are going to have to be a bit shorter unless the shows are running long for the next two months. We’ll have a better idea when these start to air.

TRT have a much better chance of winning these titles on Friday than Sunday, but the champs still seem to be the favorite. Rush seems to be slightly annoying his teammates of late…

These two En Busca de Un Idolo matches leave Diamante & Titan vs Niebla Roja & Euforia for next Tuesday.

Black Warrior & Rey Escorpion continue feuding in their match. Minis match looks really good if it’ll air anywhere.

CMLL (SUN) 04/29/2012 Arena Mexico
***Kids Day 2012***
1) Höruz, Metatrón, Molotov vs Apocalipsis, Bronco, Cholo
2) Estrellita, Luna Mágica, Silueta vs La Comandante, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
3) Eléctrico vs Bam Bam, Fantasy, Astral, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Violencia, Mercurio [cibernetico]
4) Delta, Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr. vs Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Olímpico
5) Negro Casas vs Ángel de Oro [NWA MIDDLE]
Negro Casas is the champion.
6) La Sombra, Marco Corleone, Shocker vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.

Title match seems to be a sign of who’s priorities are more important, NJPW or CMLL’s own. It benefits NJPW for Angel de Oro to come in with a belt to make him seem like a bigger deal before he loses to just about everyone (even though surely the NJPW fans will have figured he’s no big deal if he does lose a lot.) NJPW wants someone credible and who they can easily have lose a lot; they could’ve just brought Mascara Dorada if losing a lot wasn’t an issue. It doesn’t benefit CMLL to have Angel de Oro to beat Negro Casas and then go off and lose to everyone – they’d benefit more if he won it after returning. It’d Kid’s Day and it’s one of more than two dozen CMLL titles, so I suspect they do the title change and send everyone home happy for the day (more so in that main event.)

It’s almost more about Negro Casas to me than Angel de Oro; wins over him for a young star should still mean something, not wasted just to trade jewelry. Angel de Oro defeating Virus would be an inequity, but Virus doesn’t mean as much as Negro Casas (or they wouldn’t have had Titan beat him for no particular reason last week.) CMLL’s just put Polvora in a title tournament that nearly guarantees he won’t be defending his title for two months, Angel de Oro could’ve easily been given that belt.

Minis big surprise = a cibernetico. Surprise! It’s Kid’s Day, so tecnicos should win all over the place.

CMLL (SUN) 04/29/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Brillante vs Thunder Boy
2) Hierro & Virgo vs Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
3) Leo & Sky Kid vs Ráfaga & Sádico
4) León Blanco vs Espécimen [mask]
5) Máscara Dorada & Rush vs Averno & Mephisto

Prior to the management change, Leon Blanco and Gallo were feuding towards an mask match (of undetermined date.) Now, both Gallo and Blanco will have had matches versus luchadors from Dantes’ group. These two have been feuding since the start of the month, at least based on lineups. Results are becoming rare here.

5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Oficial Factor

Crosby appeared on the most recent FILL show. Jhony Rivera is a new name but wouldn’t he have to be one of Tony’s students? A Luger has appeared on Hidalgo area shows since 2004, was on Arena Aficion shows from 2007-2011 and was last spotted in NWA Mexico. First time Zumbido’s back here since 2009. Oficials Elite may have officially gone rudo (this promotion probably has enough of those.) Semimain is IWRG rudos vs AAA Milicia.

IWRG (SUN) 04/29/2012 Arena Naucalpan
1) Charly Madrid & Star Boy Jr. vs Pacto Negro & The Mummy

CMLL (FRI) 04/20/2012 Arena Mexico

2) Dalis la Caribeña, Dark Angel, Marcela b Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany

3) Black Warrior, Fuego, Stuka Jr. DQ Niebla Roja, Pólvora, Rey Escorpion

Negro pulled Atlantis mask and cradled him for the win. Triton has new music.
6) Euforia, Rey Bucanero, Terrible b La Máscara, Máximo, Rush
Euforia beat Maximo with the Euforica Special to give his team the win. TR wants their title shot next Friday.

At Thursday’s Todo x el Todo press conference, Hijo del Santo again introduced his son (as “Santo Jr.”, not Nieto del Santo.) The Santos had said they were not certain if Santo Jr. would become a luchador, but now Hijo del Santo says Santo Jr. is getting there. Before he wrestles his first match (in TxT), He’ll have to go thru training with Solar, maybe some additional special training in Japan, and prove to Hijo del Santo & the press that he’s ready to carry the name.

Fuerza Guerrera walked out before they really got started, annoyed with El Hijo del Santo & Huracan Ramirez (who he faces next week.)

A group of CMLL’s mini rudos were interviewed about what they’d match they’d like to see for the 20th Anniversary of the Pequeno Estrellas division. Demus suggested a triangle unification bout between himself (DF Light), Pierrothito (MEX Light) and Olimpico (CMLL Mini), and a show with only minis on it. Pierrothito said he’d have no problem with that title match, but also suggested a three way mask match between himself, Ultimo Dragoncito and Pequeno Olimpico since they’ve been there since the start. Pequeno Black Warrior’s idea is a sort of Gran Alternativa of minis with mixed teams – minis with full sized counterparts. He wants to team up with Black Warrior and face of versus Negro Casas. These are all amusing ideas which will not actually happen.

I’m out before the CMLL lineups are up today. Next Friday will include the first two Busca matches, and it sounded like last night that the trios title match is taking place on that show, but they’ve been a bit unclear on it.
