TxT (SAT) 02/25/2012 Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera [@lawagnermania, Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Ciudad y Poder, DJ Spectro, Estrellas del Ring, Kaiser Sports, The Gladiatores]
1) Esther Moreno & Rossy Moreno b Diosa Maya & La Vaquerita
Maya & Vaquerita replaced Ludark & Sexy Lady, who had been threatened with losing their AAA bookings if they worked this show. Morenos took 2/3.
2) Mascarita Plateada & Pequeño Lucky b Lobito & Scorpion King
Everyone working in alternate names to avoid problems from CMLL or AAA. Tecnicos took 2/3.
3) Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II DRAW Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr.
Pirata took 1, Navrros took 2, draw in third. Sort of double pin finish – Pirate Kids beat Traumas as Negro beat Pirata in the third. Navarros asked for an extra fall, but the Morgans walked out. Rematch next month.
4) El Dandy, Fuerza Guerrera, Scorpio Jr. b Angelico, Carta Brava Jr., Saruman
Team IWRG took the first, vets took the last two. Fuerza & Scorpio turned on Dandy after the match for being too much of a tecnico in this mach.
5) Angel Blanco Jr. & El Hijo del Solitario b El Hijo Del Santo & Villano IV
Straight falls for the rudos, Santo giving up to his own hold. Very bloody, Blanco & Santo’s light colored masks both red by the end. This finish means Santo, Blanco and Solitario are supposed to meet in a three way mask match on 03/30 or 03/31, though Villano IV still wants a direct mask match with someone.
The recaps see to different on the date of the next TxT show. 31st is the Saturday, which is their usual day. If they actually do the mask match, I would expect CMLL to run a bigger than usual show that Friday.
CMLL (SUN) 02/26/2012 Arena Coliseo [La Catedral, CMLL]
1) Bengala & Höruz b Apocalipsis & Súper Comando
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Metálico, Molotov, Sensei b Bronco, Disturbio, Inquisidor
Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) Fuego, Mr. Cacao, Titán DQ Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo
Tecnicos took 2/3. Arkangel fouled Cacao in the third.
4) Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Vangelis b Ángel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sangre Azteca
Rudos took 2/3.
5) La Máscara, Máximo, Valiente b Averno, Pólvora, Volador Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3, Mascara beating Volador with his own backcracker.
This week’s AAA TV was mostly repeat material from the last two tapings. However, they did slip in announcement for a Rey de Reyes match: a cage match, with three minis, three women, three men, and three exoticos, loser losing hair or mask. Mascarita Dorada & Octagoncito are two of the minis, probably with a mini Viper as the third. Dorada has been complaining about Sexi Star cheating to beat him in Couzmel, so she’s probably in. There’s not too many choices available, so Fabi Apache, La Braza and Pimpinela are also probably in.
On the Naucalpan taping, Konnan said he will pay his LA Park accumulated fines in Toluca on Friday. Also, the Chessman attack on Juvi is on behalf of Konnan; it appears they’re going to do off screen feud as an in-ring one (just with Chessman doing the work.)
Terrible and Rush have not let winning cause them to become friends. Terrible says Rush’s ego is bigger than this strength, and he’ll never reach the top if he doesn’t keep his ego in check. Rush says Terrible is the person he most wants to see bald, and hopes they sign for a hair match as soon as they win the tournament. Rush does want to change to the rudo side, because the Arena Mexico fans cheer the rudos, and he doesn’t want them cheering him, Rush wants to beat up the people they cheer.
AAA’s facebook says Arturo Rivera suffered a fall and underwent surgery. That’s very non-specific; his twitter account says it was a hip fracture. Operation went well, but he’s still in the hospital tonight.
The main event of the 03/10 Perros del Mal show will be Toscano, Texano and Angelico vs Perro Aguayo, Hector Garza and the always dreaded surprise luchador. They’ll surely be trying for Latin Lover again.
Last week’s Luchas 2000 (#608) included an interview with Magnus, who feels he got off to a bad start with the Mistico comparisons and aims for a new clean start with CMLL. He’d also like to team up with his brother, Ulises Jr.
There’s also an interview with Cholo, who mentions his recent injury rehab. Cholo, despite being a relatively new face in CMLL, is actually 37 years old and 16 years a wrestler (and actually started training in 1990.) He’s from Mexico City, and lists Versatil, Tony Salazar, Virus and Arkangel as his trainers.
Last Week’s Box Y Lucha (#3066) has an interview with Alex Koslov, who’s very gracious towards CMLL and says he was dealing with personal problems when he left, but now he’d definitely like another chance as a more mature person. Alex mentions he was back in Mexico this past December, visiting with friends over Christmas.
There’s also an article about an amateur wrestling tournament on 03/11 at Starman’s Gym. I think this is amateur as “unpaid” and not as a style.
Rob has highlights of 07/29/11 CMLL.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’S news update.
