Remember how La Catedral slipped in that bit about Averno being offered a spot in La Consejo? It’s not the only place that’s turned up. Box Y Lucha #3059 suggested the much rumored rudo was headed to the Perros del Mal. The article says Averno was actually at Guerra de Titanes, and was offered the luchador surprise spot on the 01/01 Perros del Mal show. That did not come to be, that’s where Head Hunter was their surprise. There’s also the slight problem of Averno being in Guadalajara for 12/16, though results never came out so it’s possible he no-showed. We do know Averno passed up both those opportunities, which are probably the best he’s getting from them at the moment.
CMLL, quicker than usual for them, has put up a (in character) Averno promo where he says he’s staying in CMLL.
Estrella Dorada Jr., a Monterrey based luchador, has been arrested on charges of kidnapping, conspiracy, and robbery. There’s many articles about this (here are three). Dorada Jr., real name Lázaro Gurrola Gallegos, has been wrestling since the early 90s and was most often been seen in Arena Coliseo Monterrey (though not since last April, and no known matches since November.) In recent years, he’s also been working as Fake/Clone John Cena, though more for appearances than matches. Dorada wrestled in AAA for a few months in late 2005; he was selected by Shocker as a new Guapo, but it didn’t end up going anywhere (much like everything else during Shocker’s AAA stint.) Dorada’s brother is Hator, who had a much longer run in AAA. If this story about a Monterrey luchador being arrested sounds a bit familiar, it’s because it’s part of the same investigation that netted fellow Monterrey luchador Voltaje Negro. Estrella Dorada Jr., and two others, are specifically accused of kidnapping a casino employee last May, which may have been part of a larger plot to attack and rob the casino.
In the missing opener from Sunday’s IWRG show, Alan Extreme took falls 1 and 3 to beat Triton. Black Terry Jr. has video of that match: fall 1, fall 2, fall 3.
The official name of the Marco, Rush, Maximo trio appears to be El Bufete del Amor (the Law of Love?). They won last night in Puebla.
Ernesto Chavana, Multimedios TV host with a 5-0 record in matches, faces Simbolo this Sunday night. He wants children to come to the match, so they all can get in free and he’ll pay the cost.
Valerie Ritcher, ex-president of IWL, has announced her new promotion: X-Project. No date for the first show has been announced.
Rob has highlights of 02/08/11 CMLL (C3). Also, his 2011 WON Awards ballots.

Lineups
CMLL (SUN) 01/15/2012 Arena Mexico
1) Höruz & Leono vs Bobby Zavala & Bronco
2) Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito
3) Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado vs Skándalo, Vangelis, Virus
4) Blue Panther, Super Porky, Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
5) La Sombra vs Mephisto
6) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Rush vs Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.
Even CMLL.com’s recap says Sombra and Mephisto agreed to a title match. I guess the programmers didn’t agree! The best assumption is this can’t be at title match because La Sombra vs Volador Jr. is already announced as a title match for Japan. It’s not the first time they’ve announced multiple title matches for the same title around the same time, but maybe it’s too public of shows to get away with it. But I’m making assumptions because they posted the lineup without explaining anything. As usual.
Atlantis replaces Maximo in the tecnico trio so they can lose, even though it might not be Ultimo Guerrero who takes the loss. I think that’s going on, not sure.
CMLL (SUN) 01/15/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Divino & Indigo vs Acertijo & Demonio Maya
2) Esfinge vs Èvola
3) Black Metal, León Blanco, Metatrón vs Espectrum, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno
4) Titán vs Tiger [one fall]
5) La Máscara & Máscara Dorada vs Averno & Ephesto
The one fall match seems to be a new staple. Top two matches look particularly fun.
Three new names! Espectrum and Demonio Maya have both turned up on the Dantes Factory shows. Indigo is a new name entirely.
Leon Blanco was a tecnico here for most of Apolo Dantes’ previous run. Metatron hasn’t made it to DF since 10/25, he’s probably been downgraded to being a Guadalajara only guy again. It’s better for him if he can get more regular work.

okay, so apparently I didn’t hear the Averno bit very well, because he apparently didn’t say he wasn’t leaving, he said he’d leave thru the front door if he was leaving. Hmmm.
That’s the only way to leave. Remember all the poor employees trapped in Arena Mexico when Tony Rivera parked his bus in front of the seemingly only entrance into the arena?
The Bufete del Amor means the buffet of love.
Am I reading this right that Estrellita vs Tiffanny didn’t happen this past weekend in ACM? I guess CMLL finally found out and stopped them from working there?
