(The post you’re looking for is two more down.)
I’m going to start doing a weekly quality match round up. The goal is to build a list of notable matches thru continuously, rather than in big year chunks.
To make the list, the match needs one where you want people who do not normally watch that show to go out of their way to watch. Good for the level of the show is nice but not strong enough to make to the list. We want the extraordinary.
Two categories
– Excellent: MOTYC quality
– Great: just short of that, worth checking out
for 12/24-27
GREAT/EXCELLENT MATCHES (that I’ve gotten to watch)
EXCELLENT
– 2011-12-16: Olímpico, Psicosis, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. for the Mexican National Trios Championship (youtube)
GREAT
(nothing)
OTHER SHOWS WATCHED (checked, but nothing to add)
– CMLL 52MX
– CMLL CadenaTres
(AAA and CMLL were repeats)
OTHER SHOWS NOT (yet) WATCHED (that might be worth considering)
– IWRG 12/25 (Carta Brava/Dinamic Black, Traumas/Oficials should obviously be on this list)
nothing looks particularly promising from Puebla (rerun?) or ACM. Anyone watch Todo x el Todo?
LATE ADDS (matches not from this week)
nothing this week

Traumas/Oficials is not that great if you are looking for “workrate” or great in-ring work, but the atmosphere and the brawling and the way they played the crowd was awesome. And the crowd being that hot (and a good crowd for IWRG) made it a tremendous atmosphere. It reminded me of the main event of Barely Legal PPV for some reason…
I really liked Santo v. Angel Blanco Jr., that should be at least great and could be excellent
Solar I vs El Dandy from Todo was typical Dandy fun
Does anybody a link to both matches above?
Why isn’t the Konnan Big vs 92 year old sportswriter on this list? That match was great just for Konnan deadlifting Vudu and Babe Fox being Estrella de Oriente under the mask.
