recap
thinly disguised angles which technically count as matches, and one match that was not all it could be
Dragon Lee, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Cancerbero, Hijo del Signo, Raziel: if you came in with no expectations, this was a good match. If you knew the lineup well enough to expect this to be a good match, you were maybe a little disappointed. There were a lot of little breaks going against them, starting from the premature end of the first fall and continuing thru every bad springboard in the final fall. This has it’s fun moments but could’ve been a more.
Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Olímpico, Psicosis, Volador Jr.: another good matches in the feuds. This one felt like the técnicos won even though they were credited with the loss, so I guess it makes some sense for them to get the title match. It’s a nice heated feud.
Blue Panther & Rey Bucanero vs Felino & Negro Casas: I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t get the tag match, because apparently the tag match would’ve sucked. This was nothing but the piledriver angle and unapologetically so. They didn’t do enough to sell Felino would finally be on his own (if that’s what this was supposed to be), but they did do enough to remind everyone that a piledriver is illegal. Though the dozens of piledrivers that aren’t called a DQ here or AAA make that a harder point to make.

Dragon Lee’s dive was very dive of the yearific! But I may have to stop making MV’s since it seems to be inspiring a generation of youtubers to think Dragon Lee is actually good.
This show in particular really opened my eyes to how Cesar’s reports happen to omit all the botched spots. Delta and Dragon Lee blew a ton of stuff that Cesar failed to mention somehow. Hmmmmm. I guess CMLL superfans like to re-write history as much as CMLL officials. (Hence why I am hesitant to believe his Averno rumor.)
