12/01 AAA TV Lineup (Toluca)

AAA TV (THU) 12/01/2011 Gimnasio Agustín Millán
1) Fabi Apache, La Braza, Lolita vs Jennifer Blake, Sexy Star, Yuriko
2) Fenix & Jack Evans vs Dark Dragon & Halloween
3) Joe Lider vs Nicho el Millionario [street]
4) Súper Fly & Zorro vs Octagón & Tito Santana
5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Chessman, Decnnis, Último Gladiador
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Electroshock vs LA Park & La Parka

KrisZ had most of this last night.

projected air date: 12/10? Which means this airs before Guerra de Titanes, but they don’t appear to have anything to air the day after unless they do a really quick turnaround. (It feels like they were expecting a Teleton pre-emption here. Heck, I still am.)

AAA pushes the rudo main event team, questioning if they can get along. This is a really strong idea, if they had more than 4 days to build to it. (They’ll have a whole 7 on TV – if they bring it up.)

Second match should be fun. Semimain could be too. Both the tag matches have interesting combinations; Tito is going to have a long day. (And probably Dark Dragon too.)

Last stop before Guerra de Titanes. Which appears to be

definite
1) Jeff Jarrett (c) vs Mesias [AAA WORLD] – assuming Mesias isn’t that hurt
2) Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs LA Park [AAA LA] – probably with both sons involved

vague directions
– something with Nicho/Lider (seems to soon to do hair/hair for me, since Nicho just lost it)
– something with Jack vs Los Perros (maybe combined with previous?)
– something with Gunner!
– maybe something with Pimpi and the REINA’s title

Shocker vs Atlantis, Dos Caras, Lucha POP

LEGEND (SAT) 11/19/2011 Arena San Juan Pantitlan [SL440]
1) Danny Boy & Dragon Chino b Memo Arenas & Ray Richard
Dragon Chino replaced Flecha/Skayde. Richard & Danny Boy are feuding.
2) Mohicano I & Mohicano II b Gran Apache & Gran Apache II
Best match of the night. Mochicano I snuck in a foul on Gran Apache II, and the two talked about an apuesta match.
3) Dinámico II, Falcón, Ultraman b Billy Boy, Escoria, Taboo
Dinamico II is Ultrman’s nephew.
4) Aerostar, Argos, Drago (AAA) b Cuchillo, El Engendro, Scorpio Jr.
Argos, who is supposedly hurt, replaced the MIA Laredo Kid. Argos, also hurt, also worked this match. Tecnicos took 1/3, Argos getting the pin on Scorpio. Cuchillo replaced Shu el Guerrero.
5) Dos Caras Sr., Halcon 78, Villano IV NC Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
Clowns won the first fall, team UWA won the second, Los Perros (Damian, Bestia, Ek Balam) attacked the Clowns, which somehow was ruled a no-contest instead of a DQ. Both teams ran off the Perros.

Don’t get paid if you don’t work.

LUCHA POP (SAT) 11/26/2011 Centro de Espactaculos, Ecatepec [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)Estrellas del RingLuchas en Vivo]
1) Angel del Misterio & Arez b Big Mama & Tornado
2) Black Mamba, La Vaquerita, Yuki Star b Angel del Misterio, Keira, Vanely
Despite the loss, Keira will still get One Last Chance at Vaquerita’s title. Black Mamba pinned Angel del Misterio.
3) Zumbi b Tribal
Tribal was Zumbi’s mystery opponent. Zumbi remains undefeated in LUCHA Pop.
4) Lolita DCOR Diana La Cazadora
Keira was Lolita’s second, Vaquerita’s Diana, so of course they got involved with the match and each other. Fans not thrilled with the draw finish, and they made tag challenges.
5) Trauma I b Trauma II, Black Terry, Tritón (IWRG), Judas el Traidor, Belial, Negro Navarro, Terremoto Negro [Torneo POP STAR] YouTube
Not so much brackets after all, just an 8 way elimination match. Order of elimination was Belial, Terremoto Negro, Triton, Judas, and Black Terry, just leaving the three Navarros. Negro beat Trauma II, but Trauma I defeated his dad.

They announced another show here on 12/18.

Segunda Caida already has a review of the main event.

CMLL (SUN) 11/27/2011 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, CMLL Gaceta (4)La Catedral]
1) Apocalipsis & Bronco b Höruz & Leono
Rudos took 2/3.
2) Bobby Zavala, Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II b Hombre Bala Jr., Starman, Super Halcon Jr.
Rudos took 1/3. Rayo Tapatio I pinned Starman for the deciding win.
3) Black Warrior, Hijo del Fantasma, Toscano b Misterioso Jr., Nitro, Vangelis
Nitro replaced Hijo del Signo. Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Atlantis, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sagrado DQ Shocker, Titán, Triton
The ‘new’ Joven Tapatios made their debuts here. Shocker’s squad got DQed in the first fall for crotching Maya on the post (which seems to have been reclassified as a foul rather recently), then rallied back to the take the second. Shocker fouled Atlantis in the third for the second DQ and the loss. The new unit are clearly rudos against Atlantis’ gang, and it remains to be seen if they’re rudos against everyone else.
5) Ephesto, Mephisto, Volador Jr. b La Máscara, Rush, Super Porky
Rudos took 1/3. In the third, Volador pulled off his shirt – and pulled off his mask in the process! Volador stumbled with his arms stuck in his shirt, trying to get his mask back, and Mascara kicked him out of the ring.

I like to think the Tapatios are now friends with Zavala because he sold out all the secrets of his Gen11 allies. I also like to think this is a vignette that aired on some show I have yet to get to, but will find in about five years. It makes CMLL easier to handle.

Other News

Next weekend is annual Teleton (Mexican telethon for special needs children, a fine idea), which takes over many Mexican (and some US) channels for Friday and Saturday. Early schedules says they are NOT pre-empting AAA & CMLL’s main shows. Looks like the AAA regional broadcast via Guadalajara is still on. Not as sure about any other ones, and this can all change in the next few days.

Rob has highlights of 11/05/11 AAA and a clip of Dark Angel’s fall.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s Saturday news report, and his Sunday one and Alfredo on last week’s AAA.

11/26 AAA TV Results (Pachuca)

AAA TV (SAT) 11/26/2011 Lienzo Charro de Pachuca, Hidalgo [AAAEstrellas del RingMT (5)MT (rest)]
1) Mini Histeria & Tigre Cota b Argenis & Mascarita Divina
2) Dark Dragon & Tito Santana b Sugi San & Súper Fly
Moved down a spot to the second match. Super Fly was taken out by Octagon & the rudos walking to the ring. Sugi was left on his own for a while. Super Fly did recover to help make the comeback, but the rudos still won. Sugi got dropped on his head on a ‘rana-like move from Dark Dragon and was strechered out.
3) Casandro, La Braza, Pimpinela Escarlata b Pasion Kristal, Polvo de Estrellas, Yuriko
Casandro pinned Yuriko
4) Abyss & Chessman b Extreme Tiger & Joe Lider
Moved down a spot to the fourth match. Lider looked like he might win the match, and Nicho ran in to put a stop to that. Abyss put Lider thru a table for the win. Nicho threw fire in Tiger’s face.
5) Gunner b Monster Clown
Also moved down a spot. This was a bit weird. Mesias came out first, showing an elbow injury, explaining he’d been attacked by Gunner and saying the medical personal did not want him to wrestle but he did want to anyway. Konnan came out, and ordered Mesias to fight Dark Dragon & Tito to get to Mesias. That did not last long before Gunner jumped in. Monster Clown, Murder Clown and Joaquin Roldan came out for the save, with Roldan making the actual match Monster Clown vs Gunner. Plenty of of interference and Gunner won.
6) Fenix & Jack Evans b el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Halloween
Moved up two spots. Rudos dominated the match, but Jack again snuck a pin on Perro via moonsault on chair for the win. Perros were very displeased, blooding Jack after the match. No new Perro.
7) Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Clown, Zorro DQ LA Park, Nicho el Millionario, Octagón
Dr. Wagner was accompanied by Hijo de Dr. Wagner, who was attacked by Park during the match. Octagon had Tito & Dark Dragon fighting for him. After a brawl, Octagon fouled Wagner for the DQ. Park vs Wagner for Guerra de Titanes was announced. Hijo del Dr. Wagner will be Wagner’s second for that match.

Mexico Air Date: looking like 12/03 now.

Gunner vs Monster Clown! I was trying to figure out the proper AAA comparison to Gunner, and Monster Clown, the least important Clown, is pretty close. I don’t know how Jeff Jarrett is going to rule it, but it seems to me he needs to pay Gunner for taking out Mesias. (Also, AAA kind of needs to bring him back for someone to beat him later now. Though maybe not, because it’s Gunner.)

Next taping is Thursday, the traditional date for shows in Toluca. No lineup posted for it quite yet, but it should be soon.

Panther/Peste, Estrellia injured, Ayumi champion, Triton

CMLL (FRI) 11/25/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLLKaiser Sports, RadioCMLL]
1) Shockercito & Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Warrior
Shocker took out Olimpico with a tope and Dragoncito beat Warrior for the win.
2) Estrellita DCOR Tiffany [lightning]
Only the second lightning match draw this year, after Cometa/Signo went 10 minutes. This draw was probably not the planned finish. Estrellita went for a top rope tornillo plancha to the floor. The move itself was not so bad. The aim was off, and Tiffany didn’t come close to catching Estrellita. Both women were counted out (Tiffany finding a way not to get back in for 20 seconds) and Estrellita was taken to the hospital.
3) Dragon Lee, Fuego, Metro b Euforia, Pólvora, Virus
Looks like the rudos took 1, and the tecnicos took the 2/3 for the win, Metro getting the big pin on Polvora.
4) Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Psicosis b Ángel de Oro, Máscara Dorada, Valiente
Mean ol’ rudos beat up Kemonito and send him to the infirmary in the first fall. They took falls 1/3 to win, Psicosis & Olimpico beating Dorada & Valiente.
5) Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero b Atlantis, Delta, Jushin Lyger
Rudos took 1/3. UG pulled Lyger’s mask for the win. Lyger appears to be a balding Japanese man!
6) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Shocker DQ Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Niebla & Zacarias were dressed like Hell Boy today. Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when the rudos were charged with excessive violence by Tirantes. Felino said this was what would happen on 12/16. Not exactly this, I’d hope. Felino also made it clear he wants a singles match with Panther, not Shocker and Negro getting involved.

Your fan attendance photo of the night.

Ayumi beat Marcela for the CMLL Women’s Championship earlier today in Japan. Usual quick/quick/long three falls for a CMLL big match, with Ayumi taking falls two and three. Ayumu’s the 14th champion, and fourth Japanese woman to win the title. Marcela’s one month title reign goes down as the shortest in the history of the championship. Marcela is mentioned as defending the title against Mima on 12/04 in Oaxaca, which probably won’t be happening now.

SuperLuchas, clearly bored, wonders if Triton vs Triton will be settled like Mr. Niebla vs Mr. Niebla – in a match! (It was actually settled in court and they decided to just do the match to give CMLL Mr. Niebla a win.)

On Ras de Lona, Triton explained he grew up on the sea and now he’s teaming with Atlantis, so the name just makes a lot of sense.

This whole situation is the best thing ever for the indy Triton, who goes from mostly-anonymous indy luchador ikely to disappear right back into the ether like so many a IWRG midcarder to a celebrity cause. It’s tough for an independent luchador to communicate to the fans who they are and why people should care about them, but IWRG Triton got both taken care of (at least at the indy level) without lifting a finger. Hope he takes advantage of it.

I’m also not sure why the IWRG Triton people are mad at CMLL – shouldn’t they be angry at Fantasma, Rambo and the rest of the Mexico City lucha commission for not enforcing the name rights (if, in fact, the IWRG Triton actually has them?) It’s not CMLL’s job to regulate this these things.

If I worked for CMLL PR, I would absolutely tell advise them to do something to make the IWRG Trion people happy – it’s a really easy way to get some positive feelings from people who are mostly disenchanted with your promotion – but that doesn’t seem to be the way they’re going with this.

By the way – Triton is Metal Blanco, not Palacio Negro. They should’ve held up signs when they were introduced, so people would’ve not be confused about which was supposed to be which. (Or maybe just put up video of the press conference, where it was pretty clear who was what.)

In other Ras de Lona news, they showed a clip of Zeuxis’ tope on Tuesday, and she nearly landed on her head. Welcome back! A fair bit of focus on Shocker’s group vs Atlantis’ group. Lots on the bodybuilding contest. Panico and Guerrero del Futuro were handing out the first place trophies. They showed Astral being very upset about being ruled second place.

Sean Waltman told PWTorch that WWE should hire Fabi Apache. They should, expect for the part where they’d have actually no idea how to use her. Anyway, WWE said no.

LuchaWorld has Alfredo’s Weekly Ramblings.

Rob has highlights of 05/08/11 AAA.

3) Virus vs Dragon Lee [CMLL SL]
4) Ángel de Oro, Hijo del Fantasma, Valiente vs Olímpico, Psicosis, Volador Jr.
5) Atlantis, Blue Panther, La Máscara vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Dragon Lee gets his shot. Semimain has the national trios champs together. Main event is Panther/Peste Negra with no Shocker.

CMLL (FRI) 12/02/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II vs Hombre Bala & Super Halcon Jr.
2) Pegasso vs Loco Max [lightning]
3) Diamante, Fuego, Stuka Jr. vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Tiger

5) Jushin Lyger, Máscara Dorada, Rush vs Averno, Ephesto, Último Guerrero
6) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas vs Blue Panther, La Sombra, Shocker

Despite Felino not wanting Negro & Shocker involved, they keep showing up.

That’s the Invasors champions again, this time setting up against a very logical trio to contest the title.

Though, if we’re setting up random title matches, I wish they’d go with the one in the tercera first.

Ras de Lona had Fantasma in Dorada’s spot.

CMLL on Fox Sports (Mexico): 2011-11-19

recap

Misterioso strong!

Metro, Sangre Azteca, Stuka Jr. vs Misterioso Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpion: okay enough, but there are better matches with this same basic group of guys to be had. Sangre was more active than usual and Misterioso wanted to do big power moves, but it’s just otherwise unmemorable. I’m starting to think everyone in a Metro match should wear a helmet. Either he’s going to crash someone else on their head on the german suplex, or he’s going to smash his own head on the ramp dive.

leave this to the experts

Blue Panther, Shocker, Super Porky vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas: another brick in the Negro/Panther wall. It seems much more a Panther feud than Negro Casas (who’s just being Negro Casas), and also still one that seems to set up Felino & Negro teaming rather than a singles match. But maybe we’ll get there yet.
