recap
Tag title match is notable good but probably not award winningly so. Show definitely worth seeking out, becuase the opener is fun too.
Dragon Lee, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi: Good match. Dragon Lee is still way too young and way too raw to be pushed as strong as he is, but then he does some crazy athletic move and you understand why they’re trying to so hard with him. Dragon Lee is doing stuff only Mascara Dorada does (and almost all of his stuff.) It was really Cometa who did the crazy bit – his tumble out of the ring on Yoshihashi was way out of control. Pegasso’s missed dive didn’t look nearly as harsh. Yoshihashi doing a jackhammer and a spear feels like an in joke to about 10 people who might be watching this; I’m amused.
Dragón Rojo Jr. & Último Guerrero vs Atlantis & Guerrero Maya Jr. for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship: a pretty good formulaic match. It hit all the UG cliches – quick opening falls, dives, and each guy hitting moves (and ignoring the moves they were just hit by). This worked better with a tag match than it has with UG singles matches because the faster pace of the action. In his big chance, Maya fit in fine. Atlantis was really good at emoting here, something I don’t notice all the time. Not MOTYC, but still in the honorable mention category that’s still fun.
