An interesting title match among not so interesting stuff.
Ángel de Plata, Dragon Lee, Pegasso vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo: Typical low energy Tuareg match, where they don’t do much interesting except pseudo low blows to get heat and no one seemed to be getting heat here. Match pretty much once Dragon Lee got hurt, since he was probably supposed to be involved in the finish. I don’t understand why this wasn’t just a two fall Tuareg triumph under the circumstances, and they wrestled the match like they weren’t happy with how it was booked either.
Ray vs Silueta [CMLL REINA IJ]: Given the standards for CMLL women’s matches that didn’t include one of the actual good luchadoras, I was really happy with this one. Ray was kind of an odd ruda – in that she was doing ruda spots while smiling and otherwise behaving like a tecnica – but she did enough athletic stuff that I was able to get past the other stuff. Silueta has progress to “okay under the right circumstances” level and they had worked out enough here to keep her at that level. I didn’t really love the idea of having her win a title so soon in her DF career – title belts should be something worked towards, not handed out like candy, but that’s no singular problem with this match – but as a match itself it worked for me. Not the finish, though, no idea what happened there. When I watched thru it the first time, I thought it was supposed to be a controversial finish to set up a rematch (and/or give Ray an out for the loss.) Second time thru, it looks more like a referee screw up. Bestia Negra is usually one of the better CMLL refs but did not seem that way here.
Rob, the only other person in the world who I know saw this match, felt quite the opposite about this match – so, a poll!

Ángel de Oro, Black Warrior, Delta vs Misterioso Jr., Rey Escorpion, Vangelis: Another match where it felt like everyone involved has done better at many other times. I like Rey Escorpion, but he can not do a quebrada at all. There’s plenty of video proof of it by now, he should really take a look at some of it and maybe use it for a missed move false finish. He’s much better at pretty much everything else he does.
La Sombra, Rush, Super Porky vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mr. Niebla: Think I would’ve like the finish if I had just not seen the same spot on another show (and it looks like I’m about to see it on another show; this is the problem with so much CMLL on TV.) This was another fine but nothing new match.

I watched Ray vs Silueta match twice (once when C3 aired it and a few hours later). I considered it was interesting, and did not have the usual exchanges that at least I expected. Granted it was a surprise finish, I liked it and voted accordingly in the poll :)
