A disappointing show.
Jushin Lyger, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mephisto: this felt like they had plan to do a ten minute match, were told just before the match to turn it into a seventeen minute match, and they – particularly the rudos – decided just to stall their way thru the extra time. There was a lot of time killing early and it was at a slower pace than it needed to be. The crowd really didn’t seem interested in the match to start, but they were out of it by the second fall and never got back in it for the big finish. Disappointing.
Atlantis vs Último Guerrero: It’s the Ultimo Guerrero match! Only even shorter! I’m sure this wouldn’t be the anniversary match, but it didn’t get me hyped to see one any time soon. (The finish they did made it clear this was supposed to be the end of it for the time being; it could not have been more definite.) They say familiarity breeds contempt, and this all felt very familiar.
It’s amazing how that seems like that’s the end of that feud for the time being. Atlantis did get the clean win, so it had an actual ending (which makes it better than half CMLL feuds), but it’s like they’re running away from this one.
