ATM replaced Low Rider, Tribal & Ninja de Fuego replaced Genesis.
7) Davey Richards & Juventud Guerrera b Mike Segura & Super Crazy
Daga and Heddi were supposed to team with Super Crazy; Segura switched to that side instead.
8) 2 Tuff Tony, Mad Man Pondo, Necro Butcher b Ángel o Demonio, León Rojo, Ovett and Cerebro Negro, Fantasma de la Ópera, Sepulturero I
Cerebro’s ATM team was the first out. Perico intefered, and helped Leon Rojo suplex Necro Butcher on a table for the win.

Daga not showing up after vacating his title and losing those matches is interesting. Maybe he just had somewhere else to be on Sunday. The first three shows in this tour are said to have drawn 800 people combined. That’s actually better than it looked to me. I hope that’s what they were expecting.

No results from Puebla, but TRT won in the main event, which sets up a Texano/Lyger title match.

Other News

Tonight’s Arena Mexico show includes the Silueta vs Ray title match. It’d be a big surprise if Silueta won the title, but this is interesting to see what they can do in a singles match at this point.

Joaquin Roldan says he talked to Octagon & Parka just two hours before the show about not letting La Sociedad ruin the show, so he was as shocked as anyone that they turned. Joaquin says they’re defrauding Pena and the fans with their actions, and the young AAA wrestlers will have to step up. I see Electroshock/Super Fly situations on the horizon.

AAA’s promising a statement from Octagon later today. La Parka is supposed to explain himself on Friday’s TV taping.

At a press conference to hype the 10/30 show in Arena Monterrey (with Demon & Santo), Rayo de Jalisco said this show would rescue Mexican wrestling.

CMLL continues to hype mysterious new wrestler, does not mention when or where he might be appearing. They should at least wait until they’re back on TV, but one never knows with this group.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Random stuff noticed when leafing thru recent lucha magazines

  • IWRG says they’re talking to TV Azteca about a deal to air TV on Sundays on both TV Azteca and Azteca America. They were careful to say no deal has been signed.
  • Peresus of Nuevo Laredo (the QPPC finalist with the YouTube channel, I think) is another son of Sangre Chicana. He’s also got another daughter wrestling in addition to Lluvia.
  • Camaleon is 32 and has been wrestling for 12 years! I couldn’t tell.

Lucha Libre in Japan:

10/18 AJPW: Ozz [O] & Cuervo b Kenzo & Kaz Hayashi [X]
I don’t think Cuervo has directly won a match.

Arkangel beat Mr. Cacao on Mr. Cacao’s show.

AAA Verano de Escandalo airs tonight (or did air tonight) on Samurai TV. Interesting that they hype up Ozz & Cuervo’s participation, but then they’re in Japan right now.  The full Anniversary show airs later this month; the opener is the only match not to turn up in some form.

Lineups

IWRG (THU) 10/20/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Astro de Plata, Astro Rey Jr., Bugambilia del Norte vs Alan Extreme, Dark Devil, Imposible

4) Golden Magic, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Súper Nova vs Bestia 666, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan

via KrisZ. Main event is interesting. Oficials have better things to do than feud with Spartans. In surely unrelated news, the Castle of Terror show is just around the corner.

1) In Memoriam vs Ángel del Mal
2) El Alteño & Magnum vs Exterminador & Ráfaga

4) Héctor Garza vs Rey Bucanero

What??? Someone sat down and decided no people who are actually a team are allowed to team in this tournament of teams. So silly. I had to go look back at my notes to figure out why Bucanero and Garza are having a singles match (a foul last week, one week build.)

CMLL (MON) 10/24/2011 Arena Puebla
1) Camaleón, Metatrón, Stigma vs Artillero, Sauron, Súper Comando
2) Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito

Moderate chance of a title change there.

  1. Logical teams:
    – Okumura & Yoshiashi
    – Avenro & Volador
    – Negro Casas & Mr. Niebla
    – Misterioso Jr. & Puma King
    – Fuego & Stuka
(and then it doesn’t matter as much because there are no set tecnico groups, but note they went 0 for 5)
    – Blue Panther & Angel de Oro
    – Valiente & Hijo del Fantasma
    – Super Porky & Sangre Azteca

    I’m being completely trolled here.

  2. Shiima posted it on Twitter earlier, but I confirmed it myself – Low Rider is in Orlando for the Impact tapings. I don’t know if it is a tryout or if he is working the show, but he is there.

  3. You know what just crossed my mind… CMLL hyping this new star kinda makes a lot of the other new young stars they are pushing seem less significant, right? Well, what if this new star is actually a son of a relatively big name star? Like for example, a “Negro Casas Jr.” or something like that?

  4. @Nikita:

If so, Ultimo Guerrero Jr. would be more likely. When Ultimo Guerrero opened a gym in 2009, he presented his 16 year old son who trained at the gym. The guy should be 18 now and this would fit the typical starting age of CMLL wrestlers. It would also fit that the mask has two little horns. And not to forget, Ultimo Guerrero has some backstage power.

  5. I know what happens if you fool me once and twice but what happens when you fool someone for the 37th time?
