09/11 AAA TV Results (Silao)

AAA TV (SUN) 09/11/2011 Palenque de la Feria, Silao, Guanajuato [AAA, Record (5)]
1) Mini Monster Clown, Mini Murder Clown, Mini Psycho Clown b Mascarita Divina, Mascarita Sagrada, Mini Charly Manson
Murder plancha on Sagrada to keep the win streak going.
2) Jennifer Blake & Yuriko b Lolita & Pimpinela Escarlata
Konnan was the rudas. Jen beat Lolita, and then Konnan beat the tecnicos with a bat. Konnan called Pimpi being Reina de Reinas champ a fraud, and demanded he hand over the belt, and announced Lolita would face Velvet Sky at Heroes Inmortales.
3) Billy Boy & Escoria b Jack Evans & La Parka
Escoria beat Jack, which sets up a title change match in Puebla
4) Electroshock & Heavy Metal b Chessman & Silver King
Jennifer was with the Maniacos, along with the other usual people. Electroshock German suplexed Chessman for the win, but the rudos still beat up the tenicos after the match.
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., El Mesías, Extreme Tiger b Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween
Mesias landed a top rope splash on Halloween. Post match challenges set up Wagner vs Perro for Wagner’s title, Mesias vs Sting, Abyss/Chessman vs Tiger/Evans for the AAA Tag Titles, and Konnan Big returning at Heroes Inmortales.

2011 AAA TV Chart
Mexico: 09/25 – maybe? Airing just only top 2 matches from the last taping makes a bit concerned they may just be skipping the undercard.

Heroes Inmortales so far

  • Jeff Jarrett (c) vs TBD [AAA HEAVY]
  • Sting vs Mesias
  • Dr. Wagner Jr. (c) vs Perro Aguayo Jr. [AAA LA] – Konnan Big is Perro’s second.
  • Chessman & Abyss (c) vs Jack Evans & Extreme Tiger [AAA TAG]
  • Lolita vs Velvet Sky (???)
  • something with Pimpi defending the Reina de Reinas title
  • something with the Perros and the Clowns
  • something with Parka and Cibernetico
  • maybe Zorro and LA Park (though they both have vanished since Verano de Escandalo)
  • maybe Nicho vs Lider (maybe combine this with the Clowns/Perros)
  • maybe the Pena Memorial Tournament? They haven’t hyped this on the web but have been pushing it to the magazines.
  • possibly something with Air Force vs Milicia, but this about the level it seems to be on the priority list.

No opponent yet for Jeff Jarrett is a bit interesting. Those first two matches may yet turn out to be one three way match.

This is also the show where every match has a stipulation, whether it helps or hurts. I am guessing Lolita/Velvet Sky ends up like the Lolita/Sexi Star match at the Perros del Mal show; a conventional match would do neither any favors.

Next taping is Friday in Puebla.

4) Freelance & Skayde DQ Kansuke & Naruto

5) Low Rider b Samurai del Sol
Clean finish! Superplex in 6’59”

Heavy turned on Panda for the DQ, the second partners turning on each other of the night, in 14’36”

Both teams turned on each other (3 & 4) in 9’51”
8) Juventud Guerrera DQ Dr. X-Treme [super libre]
Super Libre (no DQ) match ended in DQ when Low Rider ran in. It appeared he ran in to attack both men, but Dr. X-Treme ended up working with him.
9) Big Mama b La VaqueritaChik Tormenta
Vaquerita beat Tormenta, Big (8’48”) Mama beat Vaqeurita (12’44”)
10) Heddi Karaoui b Epidemia
13’04”, death valley driver
11) Ángel o Demonio, León Rojo, Obett b Epitafio, Fantasma de la Ópera, Sepulturero I [IWL TRIOS]
Perico (Perros) and Cerebro Maligno & Trolli (ATM) seconded their teams and were interfering freely. Porros kept the title when Demonio pinned Sepulturero. Low Rider ran out to help ATM after the match, but Juvi made the save for Los Porros.

Out of the 11 matches, only 3 had finishes where one person pinned another person. IWL believes doing crappy annoying finishes is what people want to see, and should be expected to continue doing so in the future.

CMLL (SUN) 09/11/2011 Arena Coliseo [Estrellas del RingRecord]
1) Apocalipsis & Camorra b Camaleón & Freesbe
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia DQ Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
Warrior fouled Demus. Those two want a hair vs hair match.
3) Lady Apache b Princesa Sugheit [PWR WOMEN]
To no big surprise, Lady Apache got back the title she gave up (lost in the ring) due to her pregnancy. Camaleon and Camorra were the seconds.
4) Ángel de Oro, Sangre Azteca, Toscano b Ephesto, Mephisto, Rey Escorpion
5) Hiroshi Tanahashi, Mr. Niebla, Volador Jr. b La Máscara, La Sombra, Super Porky
Volador got the win, challenged Sombra to a NWA Welterweight title match. Sombra accepted.

Sombra now has Averno & Volador in big singles matches on Friday and Sunday; I guess he misses the G1.

Quick look at the CMLL DF schedule for the rest of the month
09/16: Sombra vs Averno [CMLL UNIVERAL]
09/18: Sombra vs Volador [NWA WELTER]
09/20: likely Angel de Oro/Diamante/Rush vs Invasors [MEX TRIOS]
09/23: anniversary
09/25: possibly Demus 3:16 vs Pequeno Warrior [hair]
09/27: nothing yet, though the Marcela/Blanca hair match they were talking about  could fit
09/30: ??? (probably another tournament, or maybe another title match based off the 09/16 finish)

This would be the kind of thing you might do if you were trying to burn out a market before someone else came in to run there, but I would figure most of the WWE tickets have already been bought.

Other News

On Saturday’s AAA show, Konnan (talking to Jeff Jarrett in an exciting speaker phone conversation!) revealed it was actually Chessman dressed as Iron Mask Zorro who attacked LA Park at Verano de Escandalo. That way, LA Park will go after Zorro and leave the title alone. I guess LA Park is too busy hanging out by his pool to watch this show, no one tell him what happened. They already announced Sting appearance with also “surprisingly” revealed, though they slightly teased Sting defying orders. It’s funny that Konnan is having a conversation with TNA people about how Mexican and Puerto Rician are awful, given the history there.

Seuxis vs Ray is up on YouTube in three parts: one two three.

In an interview in this week’s SuperLuchas, Rosita mentions she trained with CMLL (Tony Salazar and Hijo del Gladiator) while in Mexico and the interviewer says she was offered a spot in CMLL but could not take accept it due to the TNA/AAA alliance.

SuperLuchas also has a mention of ex WWE-er Melina coming to Mexico for an indy promotion in November. That seemed inevitable. And there’s two different Bugambilias – one training in Arkangel’s CMLL class is a bit upset at the IWRG one.

Rob has highlights of mid October ’95 AAA and 08/30/11 CMLL.

Usual Thursday show moved to Friday due to holiday, with an early 5:30 start. Opener is another school vs school battle. Main event is a mens/womens/exoticos cage match. It’s not totally clear if hair/masks are on the line in the cage match, but surely an intergender cage match is not soon to be repeated.

IWL (FRI) 09/16/2011 Arena IWL
1) Cerebro Maligno, Epitafio, Fantasma de la Ópera, Sepulturero I vs Arsenal, Okuzono, Sangre Malandra I, Sangre Malandra II

09/16 Arena Mexico lineup

CMLL (FRI) 09/16/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Höruz & Trueno vs Apocalipsis & Hooligan
2) Delta, Metro, Stuka Jr. vs Cancerbero, Misterioso Jr., Virus
3) Shocker vs MáximoRey BucaneroRushToscanoBlue PantherNegro CasasTerrible,TexanoFelino [cibernetico]
4) Atlantis, Héctor Garza, Jushin Lyger vs Mr. Águila, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.
5) La Sombra vs Averno [CMLL Universal, final]

5PM start!

The Summer of Punk Verano de Averno has been stupendous. He lost his mask to La Mascara but still seems to have won the feud. Averno beat Ultimo Guerrero last Friday to take the unofficial title as top rudo in the promotion, and it would be no huge surprise if he won this match too. This is the best final CMLL could do at this time, and I’m very happy they’re doing it.

Tanahashi is gone by this show. They hadn’t announced when he was leaving, but he must be working the end of the NJPW before his title match. That may explain why he didn’t advance to the final.

As promised, Lyger is back and back as a tecnico. Though it’s an odd start. Figure on Atlantis vs Guerrero and Garza vs Volador (again on Friday night!), which means Lyger is facing off against Mr. Aguila?

Or maybe it’ll become Garza/Aguila. They’re the only two who’ve challenged for a hair match who aren’t in the cibernetico, which seems to exist for no reason except to build the yet to be announced match for next week. Toscano hasn’t made a hair match challenge yet…but then he hasn’t been on a Friday show since June 10th.

Garza/Aguila would also mean Lyger vs Volador, which is a frighteningly good justification for Lyger as a tecnico.

5PM start!

Averno advances, TRT vs Peste, CMLL-REINA champ, no Ras de Lona

CMLL (FRI) 09/09/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLLRecord]
1) Cholo & Inquisidor b Metálico & Sensei
2) Metro, Sagrado, Valiente b Euforia, Raziel, Vangelis
tecnicos took 1/3. Sagrado got Euforia with a moonsault in the third, though Euforia’s outside shoulder was totally off the mat.
3) Mr. Águila b Máximo [lightning]
Mr. Aguila fouled Maximo at 8:45. Maximo challenged him to a hair match.
4) Último Guerrero b Rush [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
quick match. Rush missed a double stomp and was pinned.
5) Hiroshi Tanahashi b Máscara Dorada [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
6) Averno b Virus [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
7) La Máscara b Dragón Rojo Jr. [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
8) Último Guerrero b Hiroshi Tanahashi [CMLL Universal, quarterfinal]
UG snuck in a foul.
9) Averno b La Máscara [CMLL Universal, quarterfinal]
Averno wins again! He escaped a casadora and locked in an STF for the win.
10) Averno b Último Guerrero [CMLL Universal, semifinal]
Averno won with a Super Devil’s Wings.
11) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas DQ Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano
straight falls. Bucanero blatantly fouled Felino for the DQ.

Blue Panther was honored before the lightning match, with many of his fellow Laguna luchadors praising him in a video.

CMLL in Japan

The first CMLL-REINA International Junior Champion is Japan’s Ray. She beat CMLL’s Zeuxis in the final earlier today. Match was held under CMLL 3 falls rules, and Ray took 1 and 3 for the win. There are surely rematches to come.

Other News

Ras de Lona did not air! 52MX aired a U17 football game this morning, replacing it and other shows. Ras de Lona hasn’t been on LATV for many months (which oddly doesn’t stop the announcers from talking about it as if it still airs.) It does also air on VivaSports, a channel only available on Mexico’s Dish Network. And it eventually turns up on the internet (though that’s 52MX putting it up, and maybe they won’t if it doesn’t air.)

Black Terry Jr. posted Trauma II vs Golden Magic from Thursday’s IWRG welterweight tournament.

Rob posted highlights of the AAA show from December 8, 2000.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and last week’s Ras de Lona.

Lineups

MXW (SAT) 09/24/2011 Arena Aragaon
1) Drastik Boy vs Low Rider, Durango Kid, Wotan, Terremoto, Tribal
2) Peligro & Pesadilla vs Máscara Oriental & Sairus [MXW TAG]
3) Demente Xtreme & Sexy Lady vs Shitara & Sick Boy [MXW MIXED TAG]
4) Ángel o Demonio vs El Dollar
5) Dance Boy vs Big Memo
6) Black Soul vs Fantasma de la Ópera

This is the promoter who advertised foreigners who were never actually contacted for the show (Necro Butcher, Matt Cross), didn’t actually pay what was promised to those who did work the show and disappeared the next day…except he found time to update all the luchawiki pages for his title belts that day. I’m sure this show will go equally smooth!

Top matches are part of a death match tournament. Poor Durango Kid.

1) Metatrón vs Exterminador

lineup via Fuego en el Ring – who says the cage match will have 16, but only lists 14. Hmmm.

Monthly Friday show here doubles as an CMLL Anniversario celebration. The cage match we all thought was coming is coming to Guadalajara with a random crew. Malefico and Leo are the locals who are way above their heads, and Loco Max is Loco Max. Yoshihashi will be putting up his hair just about 8 weeks after losing his hair, ehhh.

Interestingly, every guy who’s definitely in the hair match in Mexico City is not on this show. That means their Anniversary show could end up on the same night. It’d be a weaker undercard than usual with all these guys over here; this is a pretty loaded show.
