CMLL (SUN) 09/18/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring, Gaceta]
1) Evola b El Divino
2) Pequeño Violencia & Pierrothito b Astral & Último Dragoncito
3) Puma King, Ráfaga, Tiger b Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Sensei
Rudos won, though Puma & Tiger did not get along.
4) Shigeo Okumura b Gallo [OCCIDENTE LH]
Puma was Okumura’s second, and Gallo had Gallito and Alteno. Okumura took 1/3. Gallo came up short on a dive in the third, then was dropped with what sounds like a brainbuster. Gallo took a stretcher out.
5) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Máscara Dorada, Máximo, Super Porky
Mephisto took Dorada’s mask and pinned him for the win. Two straight wins for Mephisto on Dorada, so they agreed to a title match next week.
Okumura, feeling a bit too good about this win, went on to challenge another tapatio for his light heavyweight title – Rush – then declared Lyger a traitor for wrestling on the tecnico side and demanded his title as well.
Video recaps of the Sundays shows are turning up on this YouTube channel, though not until Thursdays.
IWRG (SUN) 09/18/2011 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Rolling Boy & Saruman b Ángel Mortal Jr. & Dark Devil
Saurman & Rolling Boy replaced Dragon Fly & Triton, and won in straight falls.
2) Alan Extreme, Demente, Polifacético b Astro de Plata Jr., Diva Salvaje, Miss Gaviota
Ref quick counted Diva down after Diva had kissed him.
3) Carta Brava Jr., King Drako, Picudo Jr. b Astro Rey Jr., Dinamic Black, Golden Magic
Carta Brava beat Golden Magic again.
4) Apolo Estrada Jr., Avisman, Dr. Cerebro, El Hijo del Diablo DQ Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro, Oficial Spartans
Oficials jumped the other rudos to take the first fall. Grupo de 8 took falls 2/3, the last by DQ when Spartan ran back in after being DQed.
5) Black Terry, Durok, Freeyser b Kortiz, Ray Mendoza Jr., Villano IV [super libre]
Freeyser bled again. Villanos won the first fall, then lost by excessive violence (in a super libre match). Villanos still dominated the second fall, tecnicos turned it around. Freeyser was pinned anyway, but came back in to hit Villano IV while the ref was distracted, hitting him to set up Black Terry’s pin.
Other News
Referee Rafael el Maya Gonzalez has been cleared to return to action. There’s an interview with El Fantasma and the referee over on Kaiser Sports, where Fantasma declares El Maya has a clean bill of health. The article mentions Maya had refereed a few times in Arena San Juan Pantitlan and other small buildings to check to see if he’s okay. It’s up to CMLL to decide to use him again.
In a (AAA press release) interview, Fabi Apache sort of inserted herself in the Lolita vs Velvet Sky match, or at least is under the impression it’s mean to be a trios match (and not the singles match it sounded like.) She wants to face the other talented women from TNA (Tara, Rosita, Winter, Mickie, Angelina mentioned) but also unify the Mexican women to run them all off. Fabi/Mari/Lolita vs Velvet/Sexi/Rosita seems possible. Maybe not good, but possible.

Lucha Libre in Japan

AJPW 09/19: Ozz [O], Cuervo, Mazada b Kenzo [X], Jimmy Yang, Soshun
In related news, Ozz & Cuervo are winning so much to set up a title match. Kenzo announced he and the Great Muta would be defending their AJPW World tag team titles versus Ozz & Cuervo on their 10/23 show. That’s a ways off, not sure if that means Ozz & Cuervo are staying in Japan until then.
NJPW announced Ultimo Guerrero will team with Shinsuke Nakamura to face Hirooki Goto & Tama Tonga on their 10/10/11 PPV. That’s the previous announced UG trip. UG had his best singles match of the year with Goto, so maybe that’ll be good.
NJPW also announced their G1 Tag League, taking place late October and early November. Terrible & Texano participated last year, but the only CMLL participation this time around is Strong Man.
EAW usually likes to send out press releases, but hasn’t yet said anything about how Matt Hardy’s rehab stint + arrest affects his status for their tour.

CMLL (SAT) 10/01/2011 Plaza de Toros el Pinal, Teziutlan, Puebla
1) Mascarita Dorada & Octagoncito (original) vs Demus 3:16 & Mini Histeria
2) Lluvia & Marcela vs Princesa Blanca & Princesa Sugheit
3) La Máscara & Máscara Dorada vs Felino & Mr. Niebla
4) Dragón Rojo Jr. & Último Guerrero vs Psicosis & Volador Jr.
Not a TV show and we may not get results, but that’s an amusing opener for a CMLL show. That’s surely a Mini Histeria who’s not the AAA one. There’s been a Histeria II/Histeria Jr. around, perhaps it’s him.
FULL (SUN) 10/30/2011 Arena Monterrey
1) ABC, Principe Azteca, Silencio vs Faceman, Medico Infernal, Veneno Xtremeo
2) Difunto I, Mascarita Dorada, Nikki the NY Knockout, Octagoncito vs Melissa Anderson, Mr. Aguilita, Pequeno Monster, Potro Jr.
3) Tigre Universitario vs Caifan Rockero I

5) Coco Azul, Máscara Sagrada, Super Muñeco vs Coco Rojo, Huracan Ramirez, Huracan Ramirez Jr.
6) Diluvio Negro I vs Humberto Garza Jr., Dr. X-Treme, Hator, Máscara Púrpura, Difunto I, Casandro, Bengali [mask, hair]
7) El Hijo Del Santo, Lizmark Jr., Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs Carlito, Colt Cabana, Rikish
A loaded show, but it’s also just a couple weeks after WWE comes to the same arena and they’re going to charge WWE level prices. Good luck!
Semifinal is actually a tag team tournament (partners to be drawn), where both the losing team loses their hair/mask.
Spartaco is the champion of this version of that title.
Even though he’s technically freelance, Mascarita Dorada actually working this show would probably cause some problems for him.

WON says; TNA wrestlers Abyss (subbing for Douglas Williams) and Magnus worked in the main event on the 9/16 tapings in Puebla. The show drew a sellout of about 10,000 fans, a number that surprised everyone because business hasn’t been strong of late. AAA has been getting good crowds at TV tapings, but mostly running smaller buildings. The house shows, on the other hand, aren’t doing well.
that FULL show looks like it could be a bunch of craziness.
