Other News

The newest Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports there is a third brother of Mistico now working in AAA. Besides Argenis and Argos, another brother (the ex-Dr. Karonte Jr.?) is a member of the Mini Psycho Circus. No mention of which one.

The newsletter also reports Jeff Jarrett, Samoa Joe, Abyss and Velvet Sky are all coming in to work Heroes Inmortales. The last three are a bit inexplicable and a big contradictory, since Velvet was supposedly one of the people who was unhappy with the locker room conditions and Mari Apache’s stiffness. Then again, Arena Monterrey is a modern arena; maybe she won’t be in but for that show. There’s also a vague mention of one or two “big stars”, including someone who had not previously worked Mexico. Ric Flair could use a payday.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and Ras de Lona from two weeks ago. Watch all the way to the end for a random shot at last week’s guest Teleformula announcer.

I’ve got to post this now, but it looks like next Friday’s lineup is just about to post.

  1. Flair worked in Mexico in the early 80’s though right? Has Sting? I’m assuming Angle worked some WWE tour.

  2. @Alan:

According to his autobiography, Flair was scheduled for CMLL once (maybe twice; been a while since I read it), but never worked.

  3. If I’m remembering right he came to Mexico, they had a disagreement over his pay and he flew right back to the United States.

If AAA books him for October I fully expect the situation to repeat itself.

  4. XEJ is only audio today but I can hear Valiente vs Escorpion started off and based on @conjuarez’s tweets it would appear the top two will also air since Fox Sports got #2 & #3.

  5. Local GDL is still doing that annoying stop & start thing.:/ Very annoying and unwatchable.

Either way it appears to be a repeat from last week.

  6. Looks like both C3 feeds are down too. Maybe this is a sign that I should have gone to the local indy show with Scott Hall?

  7. Just watched Ras de Lona.

    – Bucanero did a promo declaring he’s 100% rudo and not a goofy dancing Peste Negra guy, all of which he hates now and especially that Felino. That’s going to make the next Teleformula taping awkward! Clear yet random tease of a hair match between those two. (TRT vs Peste Negra in a triple apuesta match would actually be a heck of a main event, if they had really been building it up for a while.)

    – the lineup they have for next Friday’s CMLL show was, uh, the exact same top matches from this week. Either someone screwed up or it’s a new bar for lazy booking.

  8. I thought Flair told a story about wrestling Canek, and needing bodyguards to get out of the arena or something.

  9. ACM has the Hector Garza 4 way from Tuesday. Rey Heichero coming out with a full Mexican band rules.
