various notes, lineups

A poster on Box Y Lucha alleges the CMLL minis wrestling in Acapulco last night were in no condition to be in the ring. The match was scheduled to be Ultimo Dragoncito & Mini Maximo vs Pierrothito & Demus, and user says Mini Maximo and Demus looked drunk. This is one anonymous poster, which makes the story less than confirmed.

EAW’s press release/interview with the new Super Pollo doesn’t reveal his identity, but does allude to the promotion being very unhappy with Pollo (now Pollifacetico) for losing the mask they gave him. They even hint towards a lawsuit, though in such a manner than it seems unlikely to actually happen.

AAA’s website mentions the Apache’s upcoming trip to Japan. They’ll be there from 08/20 to 08/28 for three shows.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and the return of the weekly ramblings.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 08/23/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Aereo & Pequeño Halcón vs Mercurio & Pequeño Nitro
2) Lluvia, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
3) Fuego & Magnus vs Puma King & Tiger
4) Diamante, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Yoshihashi
5) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Máximo vs Averno, Mephisto, Pólvora
6) Rush vs Mr. Águila [CMLL LH]

Title match should be interesting. Fuego switching feuds from Dr. X to Puma or Tiger would be fine with me, though I don’t know that’s what they’re actually doing. That match should be good and so should the fourth.

CMLL (TUE) 08/23/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Thunder Boy vs Acertijo
2) Hierro & Magnum vs Gran Kenut & León Blanco
3) Metatrón & Sensei vs Exterminador & Nitro
4) Gallo, Metro, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus
5) Héctor Garza, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada vs El Alebrije, Psicosis, Volador Jr.

Semimain is a rematch, so something’s going on there. Hmmm. Main event follows up the Garza/Invasors feud. I’m looking forward to when this airs on Teleformula (in six months.)

IWL (SAT) 09/03/2011 Arena IWL
1) Cerebro Negro vs Freelance, Angelico

4) Daga & Suicida vs Tony Rivera & Zumbido [Relevos Increíbles]
5) Super Crazy vs Juventud Guerrera [special ref Dr. X-Treme]

Not an iPPV. Poster says it’s on TV, but almost all posters say that now just to make it seem like a more attractive show, and very few actually turn up on TV.

  1. Should be noted that Fuego/Magnus vs Puma/Tiger match is one fall. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Also that Tuesday card is an excellent point people forget when fantasy booking CMLL. The wrestlers are usually booked for a show before the matches are even made so CMLL booked the usual 28 guys but b/c Rush/Aguila are doing their singles match they had no choice but to book an extra undercard tag match. With no singles match you’d have the usual 5 match show with 4 trios matches and a tag to open. All DF shows are usually set in stone to have 26 at minimum – 32 at max wrestlers booked. So people fantasy booking an Anniversary Show with 7 matches where 3 of them are singles are out of their minds.:)

  2. Hector Garza won the main at Tuesday’s ACM card vs Konan Big, Rey Sagitario and the not suspended Neurosis.

The September 11th card has Freelance, Mike Segura, Daga and Samuari de Sol in the semi main. The main has Joe Lider and Nicho. Hope the Freelance match makes tv.
