All the active Guadalajara titles are now held by Mexico City wrestlers (Okumura has the LH, Metal Blanco has the welterweight, Texano & Terrible have the tag – there’s a heavyweight one they haven’t used in a while, last held by Asesino Negro.)

By my count, there are currently 77 male luchadors in the CMLL’s main division who are given some sort of attention by the promotion and so might be considered actual contenders to a championship. They’re either have been in a recent title tournament, have been in a feud, or are just not stuck in the openers the whole time; just drawing the line where Inquisidor is counted (in the super light tournament) and Bronco is not. Out of those 77 luchadors, 22 hold a recognized championship. 3 others have won major tournaments this calendar year.  That’s 32% of the pushed roster who have been declared the current best at what they do. 58% of the pushed roster has held some some sort of championship. I don’t know what these titles mean, but they seem to be more participation badges the a signal of who the best in the group is.

Other News

Mini Psycho Circus talked to MT about their debut and being accepted by the larger Psycho Circus. They say they all come from lucha libre families and are not rookies. They’d like revenge on the Perros for attacking them but there’s no Perros minis to fight. You know, in Perros del Mal, there are actually four minis, and they always have the same match: Mr. Agulita and Mini Talisman vs Cosmico and Celestial. They’ve been having this match for about two years straight on most TV tapings, and probably are dying for a different match. Hope someone thinks to put it together.
