IWRG (SUN) 07/31/2011 Arena Naucalpan [Al Filo del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Black Sky & Rolling Boy b Dark Devil & Muerte Infernal
2) Dragon Fly & Tritón b Alan Extreme & Keshin Black
Said to be a very good match.
3) Carta Brava Jr., Comando Negro, Imposible b Bugambilia del Norte, Miss Gaviota, Saruman
Miss Gaviota replaced Argos, who was listed here twice. Rudos took 2/3.
4) Barba Roja, Bombero Infernal, Polifacético b Black Terry, el Ángel, Pantera
Politifacetico was dressed as a clown. Angel replaced the terminally missing Bobby Lee Jr. Dr. Cerebro ran in and attacked now-ex friend Black Terry to give the rudos the ring. Terry and both Cerebros are now feuding.
5) Multifacético b Dr. Cerebro, Oficial 911, Angelico & Veneno, Oficial Fierro, Oficial AK47, El Hijo del Diablo, Avisman, Argos, Apolo Estrada Jr., Centurión, Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Hammer, Fresero Jr. [High Power]
Dr. Cerbero and Fresero Jr. joined the rudo Grupo de los Ocho, one replacing Kid USA (same time as the IWL PPV, though I have no idea what I’m bringing that up) and one being the name left off last week. Hammer did make it over here from IWL and Argos worked this match, both as part of the tecnico Revolucionaries. Fresero Jr. feuded with Veneno, and was eliminated when Diablo & Los Oficials turned on him. Rudos came back to beat Hammer, Golden Magic, and Dynamic Black. Final four were Angelico, Multifacetico, Dr. Cerbero, and Oficial 911. Angelico missed a top rope move, hurt his knee, and 911 defeated him. Multifacetico got 911 with a Spanish Fly. Dr. Cerbero was about to finish Multifacetico when Black Terry distracted him, and Multifacetico got a backcracker for the win.
Ultimo Guerrero & Dragon Rojo kept the tag team titles over Mr. Aguila & Psicosis on Sunday in Guadalajara.
CMLL (MON) 08/01/2011 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio]
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Shocker
5) Rush b Yoshihashi [hair]
Tirantes was ref and helping Yoshihashi. Rush took 2/3, dropping Yoshihashi with a martinete in the third.
Rush is a cheater! Link only has Rush with Yoshihashi’s hair, no shaved picture. He’s in Arena Mexico today.
Other News
Heroes Inmortales is October 9 (Sunday) in Monterrey. I had October 8th previously.
The Quinta Corona AAA talent search winners from Guadalajara were La Magnificia, Cometa, Tony Rodriguez, Spark, and Tiger King.
Magnficia is one of Gran Cochisse (and the original Magnifica)’s daughters, who lost her mask to Lluvia on the Guadalajara Lucha Festival show just in April 2009, which pre-dates her father falling out with CMLL. Cometa & Spark are from the Apolo Dantes group. Tony Rodriguez is from Arena Roberto Paz. Tiger King turns up in Arena Victoria.
SuperLuchas posted a live recap of Verano de Escandalo. There’s one shot where the crowd looks non-existent (see also the Lider/Nicho post), but plenty more where the bullring looks pretty full. Another post makes the case for less meaningless trios matches and more singles matches.
A note on luchalibreaaa.com about Jack & Aero in NOAH notes Jack is (still) AAA Cruiserweight champion. Someone remembered
Mr. Iguana would like some feedback on a recent match now on YouTube: part 1, part 2, part 3.
CMLL in NJPW
08/02 NJPW:
1) Karl Anderson b La Sombra [G1] – Sombra is 1-1.
3) Wataru Inoue b Strong Man [G1] – Strong Man is 0-1.

A backcracker in IWRG? Surely you jest.
You mean IWL had access to an actual Gringo Loco and still sent out a Mexican version to work the dark match? FOR SHAME!
Very excited about the Terry v. Cerebro feud. Assuming we get an apuestas match, that could be fucking epic.
Rush is an awesome heel so I don’t know why he’s pushed as a tecnico. That guy is great even though most people resent the push and nepotism and all. I would not be surprised to see him feud with Perro Jr. if that’s where Perro goes. Rush could carry the promotion as top heel.
Just watched this past weekends CMLL. Interesting how Atlantis tossed UG back into the ring to celebrate the victory.
