Other News

Fray Tormenta says he’s retiring from lucha libre. his last match would’ve be the Festival Of Masks show in Arena Naucalpan, if this sticks.

Is Psycho Clown injured? At the spot show in SLP this past Sunday, he was attacked before the match and replaced. The Perros are advertising a show on 08/06, where Zumbi is oddly in Psycho Clown’s spot. That would also be after the cage match, which either is an indication Psycho might be losing that match (which would be the worst possible decision) or he might not be healthy enough to wrestle in it.

Lucha Libre Expo

Their website had a Facebook chat with Shocker yesterday, and helpfully put all the questions and answers together in a blog entry. Shocker’s dream match is a hair vs hair match vs Ric Flair. He feels CMLL needs bigger guys, in size – all of the young guys are shorter and thinner and I guess he feels they need more heavyweights to capture the public’s attention. Someone should introduce him to Bronco.

Hijo de Rambo chats about the lucha libre show.

Horus talks about the show to BBC News.

Mask-Ra, with drummer Atlantis Jr., hype their performance.

Lucha Libre in Japan

Ultimo Guerrero is headed to Japan on 10/07 as part of the Lucha Fiesta shows.

Lineup

CMLL (TUE) 07/26/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Black Metal vs Thunder Boy
2) Magnum & Metatrón vs Evola & Infierno
3) Goya Kong & Lluvia vs Mima Shimoda & Zeuxis
4) Dragon Lee, Hombre Bala Jr., Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto, Hijo del Signo, Rey Escorpion
5) La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Rush vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

We’ve lost track of results here, so I’m not sure if there’s anything going on here. Stuka & Rey Escorpion are repeating in the semimain. Excited to see what Zeuxis has learned, not a lot of hope for seeing it in that match.

  1. It’s totally awesome! For 3 weeks out of the year he can get a full house of 5,500 fans. Now what do you intend to do with the other 49 Sundays? And how about the Tuesday shows?

  2. Tuesday Shows are basically Mexico’s version of Evolve. A ego stroke by a guy that is a mark for himself.

  3. According to RFC’s board, El HIjo Del Santo is working Arena Solidaridad on the 31st and is teaming with Magnus. That can’t be CMLL’s Magnus can it? The poster says he’s from TNA but I wouldn’t think Brutus Magnus would be working a indy show in Monterrey?
