Puebla, Dorada wraps up in NJPW

CMLL (MON) 06/20/2011 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Ares & Fuerza Chicana b Tigre Rojo & Tigre Rojo Jr.
Rudos took 2/3.
2) Bobby Zavala, Puma King, Tiger Kid vs Metálico, Stigma, Trueno
Rudos took 1/3.
3) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Plata, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Arkángel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo
Maya’s right shoulder was heavily taped. Rudos attacked it. Tecnicos took 1/3, Maya with a Mistica variant on Arkangel in the third.
4) Histeria, Olímpico, Vangelis b Hijo del Fantasma, Metro, Sagrado
Rudos took 1/3, Olimpico pinning Fantasma.
5) Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla b La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush
straight falls for the rudos! Clean first fall, and Averno got away with a foul on Mascara in the second. (Ref was Tirantes.) They did the 15 second hair/mask match – Mascara got in a headscissors and a machete before Averno just ripped off Mascara’s mask and walked off.

CMLL in not-Mexico

NJPW 06/23: Masato Tanaka, Yujiro (O), Jado, Gedo, Dick Togo b Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Wataru Inoue, Tiger Mask, Mascara Dorada (X)

That’s it. Dorada spoke positively about the experience in his final interview. He’s not yet scheduled in any matches back in Mexico yet; maybe they’re giving him some time off first (or maybe he’s in GDL next Tuesday and they just haven’t listed it yet.)

CHIKARA announced Mima Shimoda will be on their shows at the end of July.

Other News

Dorian was asking people on Twitter what apuesta match they’d like to see on Verano de Escandalo.

IWL is running another, non-iPPV show on July 3rd with AAA wrestlers. That’s either daring or insane, possibly both.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 06/28/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Camaleón & Robin vs Disturbio & Semental
2) Dragon Lee, Starman, Super Halcon Jr. vs Inquisidor, Puma King, Tiger Kid
3) Fuego, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Skándalo
4) Black Warrior, Diamante, Toscano vs Histeria, Olímpico, Psicosis
5) Delta, Máximo, Super Porky vs Naito, Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero

Delta, who didn’t win anything, gets to be in the main event. They really should make Dr. X vs Fuego the main event feud while they’re at it.

Every time Inquisidor is in a bigger match than Semental, someone’s screwed up.

Histeria’s sudden resurgence is still amazing. It feels like he’s should be an emergency replacement for someone who’s gone missing, but no one’s gone missing.

  1. @J. Corzo: I don’t know if they’re necessarily an advertiser.

If I could suggest something to whoever’s designing the AAA site is that they put the youtube video in the widget sidebar. Perhaps in between the Reinas del ring and facebook widgets.
