CMLL (SUN) 06/19/2011 Arena Mexico [Cesar, CMLL]
1) Leono & Metálico b Disturbio & Inquisidor
Tecnicos took 1/3
2) Dalys la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Luna Mágica b Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany
Tecnicas took 1/3, the last with the Goya splash.
3) Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma, Sangre Azteca b Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis, Virus
Tecs took 1/3, Phantom lariat on Okumura for the win.
4) Blue Panther, Super Porky, Toscano b Ephesto, Héctor Garza, Psicosis
Rudos took 2/3.
5) La Máscara, Máximo, Strong Man DQ Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Shinsuke Nakamura
Rudos jumped the tecnicos. Two straight for the tecnicos, Averno fouling Mascara.
After the match, Averno told Mascara that he had made three mistakes in life: being born, becoming a wrestler, and crossing Averno. They’re keeping this an ongoing issue, which should help the trios rematches over the next couple of weeks. As mentioned in chat the last couple of days, I’m under the impression Averno is done here by early next week.
A little bit of TripleMania cleanup
- brief clips of TripleMania have started to turn up. (Here. Here. Here.) My internet is not working, not sure if there’s more out there. Should be a few days, be patient.
- The main event of the pre-show, Daga & Freelance vs Eterno & Mike Segura, part of the Corona AAA idol deal, is up on Black Terry Jr.’s channel.
- The women introduced during the show and showcased in the post match press conference appear to be AAA’s new dance troupe, their answer to CMLL’s edecanes and their dance numbers. I assume this means they show up on TV a bit.
- That press conference teased Jeff Jarrett vs Dr. Wagner. I think we’re way off from that happening.
- Zorro said he was going to TNA to confront Jarrett, which is amusing since the TNA storyline is Jarrett is no longer there. The impression I got is TripleMania was actually the end of the road for Zorro for now and we might not see him again for quite a while. It may be dated information, but that’s what I’ve heard.
- Jarrett not only hit Zorro with the cane, but used the cane as part of his Stroke finish (ala the Sandman.)
- LA Park apparently faked giving up to Mesias’ sharpshooter submission (???) just before the end game. I’m not sure how you fake a submission, but I’m also not sure how you fake it to a guy who’s facing the other way. It’ll be interesting to see.
- My guess, same as last night, is the last two matches were swapped around to end the show with the happy AAA ending (though enough people support LA Park that would’ve been happy too.)
- They did a bit where the Psychos and the Perros agreed to switch their match to an extreme match. Amusing that they thought they needed to do a bit to explain that.
- La Parka’s son was the one who revealed Taboo was his uncle.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s TripleMania recap.
SuperLuchas #418 has (just) TripleMania results on the cover, though they did end up with good Juicio Finals inside. There’s also an interview with Tony Rivera, who says he was not paid on Friday and will resume his protests if the meeting on Monday does not go well. We’ll see.
