top six stories of the last two weeks

  1. Averno and La Mascara agreed to a mask match. Hours later, wored leaked out that this was Averno’s swansong in CMLL, as he’s heading to WWE to resume feuding with Mistico.
  2. LA Park & Mesias agreed to a mask vs hair match, the headline match for TripleMania. LA Park has said he’d retire if he loses his mask.
  3. Rudo AAA faction La Sociedad turned on Zorro. He’ll defend the AAA title against Jeff Jarrett at TripleMania. Other TripleMania matches include matches for a new trios title and a new singles title (RVD vs Wagner), more TNA involvement, and oddly no matches for Drago, La Parka or Perro Jr. yet. Octagon is expected to be inducted in the AAA Hall of Fame.
  4. Ultimo Guerrero has been added to the much maligned CMLL programing department. Meanwhile, there are rumors of many departure from the company.
  5. Super Crazy lost his hair on the Perro’s 3rd Anniversary show, the end of a cage match with the Psycho Circus.
  6. Angel de Oro won the final of the well received Forjando un Idolo tournament. Polvora was the runner up, but impressed in the semifinal. CMLL will keeping the Forjando un Idolo blocks together as a group for the moment.

  • Perro Aguayo Jr. returned to action on AAA TV, replacing Zorro in the main event of the May 26th taping (match ending in a no contest.)
  • another CMLL tournament started, this one for the CMLL Super Lightweight Championship. Finalists are Guerrero Maya and Virus
  • Shocker was stripped of the NWA LH for inactivity, then announced as returning soon.
  • people retaining titles: Ultimo Guerrero, Pirata Morgan and Hijo,
  • NJPW’s Shinsuke Nakamura started a month long tour of CMLL. Ayumi and Naito are said to be back in June.
  • DTU ran a show that DTU wasn’t happy with after the fact.
