2011 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#992)
Mexico: 06/05
US: 06/19
Early on in the show, Konnan, Dorian and the debuting Violento Jack had an argument with Joaquin, which led to Joaquin taking a chair shot. I think the idea is Joaquin and Marisela kicked Dorian out of AAA at the last taping, but that doesn’t seem to have much of an effect.
A couple notes from Dr. Landru of the Gladiatores
- Astro Boy was at the tapings. He’s probably the new Air Force member, joining at the Arena Neza taping.
- The AAA Trios tournament is just two rounds – the four teams who’ve won so far (Bizarros, Dark Family, Perros, Circus) will meet in a four way at TripleMania.
That means the Bizarros vs Underground match is off, though something will have to replace it to get La Parka & Drago on the card. After SLP, when AAA was running down the card, they did not mention that match, so this decision must’ve been made a while ago but not made very clear. It’s been one of their focal points of TV over the last few weeks, so it’s very odd it’s been dropped and probably means the Bizarros need to be in that trios title match for a very important reason.
No sign of another taping between now and Neza; we’re short one. This show really feels like the last taping before TripleMania, and Neza really feels like the lame duck taping after it, so maybe there will be an all recap/interview/hype show the Sunday prior to the PPV? It would save a little money, and they could spend two hours telling us to people to order the PPV (if they’re on PPV.)

“Silver King got involved with his own new (smaller) mini.” You forgot to mention that Silver Kain’s mini is Trolly. AWESOME!! But seriously people, AAA owning CMLL so far this year, & I expect TripleMania to be better than Juicio Final (even with the foreigners, I know TNA sucks).
Astro Boy in Triple A is a fine idea. He has nothing going on in CMLL and teaming with his brother would be awesome.
I guess Meltzer’s “Every AAA show now starts with a high flying match” theory ended after only a couple weeks?
I wonder if Silver King’s new mini is Tzuki? or maybe Guapito?
@Calabcd44: When Juicio was announced, at least some people responded to it. AAA has a stip match that no one is buzzing about in part b/c people remember past “haircuts” and in part b/c LA Park vs. Mesias takes a backseat to TNA vs. AAA. CMLL wisely makes the stip the focus of their show.
The angles in AAA do make sense. Konnan is one of the all-time greats on the mic but he is now overexposed. CMLL does not do angles anymore and it’s frustrating. To me, the high flyers(especially Aerostar), Zorro and the women are still the best part of AAA. I can’t get into Ciber in the ring, Perros vs. Circus, or anything with Dark Family, among some other things.
Cubs, as far as PPV, I believe Dorian tweeted that it’s on SKY again.
@LLL: but was it good response? i know a lot of people did respond to the card but most of it was rather negative
For Triplemania it’s been small amounts but most of it has been positive
@LLL: I agree focusing TripleMania on a program which most likely will be forgotten after TripleMania (AAAvsTNA) instead of the biggest apuesta in years (LA Park vs El Mesias) is a bad idea.
