recap

I dunno...

Dalys la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Luna Mágica vs Estrellita, La Comandante, Princesa Blanca: horrible. The effort is there, the ability was not. Dalys and Princesa Blanca looked fine, actually really good in the first exchange, and nothing here seemed to be Comandante’s fault (though she was clearly thrown off by an injury), but Luna Mágica & Estrellita were awful every time they were together and they kept working together. Goya was no good. This match was no good, did no one any favors, seemed to result in at least on person leaving hurt, and really should’ve been pulled for a rerun. There are some very talented women in CMLL’s division, they probably should’ve not run a women’s match when many of them were out of town. I hope it’s not going to take an injury for something to be fixed.

absurd but great

Diamante vs Fuego Forjando un Idolo in a Forjando un Idolo quarterfinal match: this felt slower than it should be early, especially on Diamante’s part. Picked up as it went along. They found a way to protect Diamante win while taking the upset loss, but Fuego looked really good for getting the win. Panther = submission wins.

La Alejandrina

Ángel de Oro vs Guerrero Maya Jr. in a Forjando un Idolo quarterfinal match: Guerrero Maya is one of the ‘winners’ of this tournament; a guy who seemed mostly forgotten dominated one of the guys we’d figure to win the whole thing. Maya was the most adaptable guy in the tournament, a tcnico who could be a rudo when the situation called for it (like it did here.) Good match.

fight

La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Averno, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero: Blurb: actually more want to see Negro Casas vs Sombra than Averno vs Mascara, but that should be fine during the portions they’re not pointing to the crowd in hopes the crowd makes a noise. Fine match even in isolation.
