recap

Metal Blanco & Palacio Negro vs Inquisidor & Raziel: not a lot of time, so the técnicos didn’t get to do every wacky idea they have planned, but they looked good as a tag team. Raziel was strong as always. Inquisidor’s finisher is still goofy.

At least he took the claws off

Delta, Metro, Sangre Azteca vs Euforia, Misterioso Jr., Virus: Announcers tried to build it up another way, but there was no real build towards Sangre/Misterioso here. That seems like another issue that dominated the first few months of the year that’s been ignored for the last couple. Good match even if not particularly meaningful. Sangre still is doing about three more low blow dropkicks per match than he ought to be.

Rush & Toscano vs Héctor Garza & Volador Jr.: not as especially mailed in as I figured it might be, but nothing that interesting here.

PlayPlay

Guerreros vs Sombra/Dorada, IWRG, Tinieblas

CMLL (SUN) 05/08/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring, Informador]
1) Drago b Ráfaga, Malefico, Mr. Trueno [OCCIDENTE LH, #1 Contenders]
Drago, who is not the Drago who is in AAA won the four way rudo rumble and will challenge Gallo next Sunday. Drago pinned Mr. Trueno, Rafaga defeated Malefico, and Drago came out on top.
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito b Eléctrico, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito
3) Euforia, Pólvora, Vangelis b Rey Cometa, Sagrado, Sangre Azteca
focused on Polvora vs Sangre Azteca
4) Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero b La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Toscano
Pato Soria was honored before the main event. Rudso took falls 1/3, with Dragon and UG pinning Sombra & Mascara Dorada with their feet on the rope for the deciding pin. Tecnicos want a(nother) shot at the tag team titles.

IWRG (SUN) 05/08/2011 Arena Naucalpan [Record]
1) Dragon Fly b Muerte Infernal
2) Alan Extreme & El Pollo Asesino b Miss Gaviota & Turbo
3) Carta Brava Jr., Comando Negro, Imposible b Dinamic Black, Eterno, Golden Magic
Comando Negro pinned Dinamic Black
4) Chico Che, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Pantera DQ Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
Chico Che replaced Hijo del Pantera. Oficials were DQed for excessive violence on Wagner.
5) El Mesías, Multifacético, Trauma I DQ Barba Roja, Bombero Infernal, Pirata Morgan
Pirata was caught fouling Mesias for the DQ.

Tinieblas says he’s retiring on May 21st. Tinieblas previously has announced at least two different retirement tours that never really seemed to come to fruition. The poster says this is Tinieblas’ last match, but I think this actually just might be a match as part of on one of those retirement tour rather than last definite end.

CMLL in Japan: other results from the Reina debut show.
4) Tomoko Nakagawa & Hiroyo Matsumoto (O) b Takako Inoue & Silueta (X)
5) Yumiko Hotta & Manami Toyota (O) b Haily Hatred & Zeuxis (X)
I would suspect these are how things are going to go for these two for the time being. Silueta did get a spiffy new jacket.

AAA is teasing another Jeff Jarrett video later today.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.
