Heros unmasked, Rush/Bucanero, Black Terry Jr.

CMLL UWE (SAT) 03/26/2011 Arena Lopez Mateos [The Gladiatores, Estrellas del Ring, R de Rudo]
1) Clímax Jr. & Dark Misterio b Coco Azul Jr. & Ojo Diabólico Jr
2) Babe Torres, Rey Krystal, Super Halcon Jr. b Hombre sin Rostro, Ronny Ventura, Tormento
3) Rey Krymen, Sepulturero I, Terry 2000 b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro [AULL TRIOS]
Champions retain.
4) Blue Panther, Rocky Santana, Solar I b Black Terry, Ray Mendoza Jr., Robin Maravilla
Robin Maravilla replaced Negro Navarro. Match actually had a winning team.
5) Atlantis & Último Guerrero DQ Héctor Garza & Olímpico [UWE TAG]
16 team tournament ended with UG fouling Olimpico, Olimpico pulling UG’s mask, and the ref just seeing the mask off of Guerrero. Eh. I think Olimpico could afford to take a clean loss to Ultimo Guerrero.
6) Héros L Yakuza, Tortuguillo Ninja, Súper Panda, Epitafio, Chucho el Roto, Zumbi, Herejía, Cerebro Maligno, Kilvan, Halcon 78, Gallo Tapado Jr. [cage, mask]
10 minute period in the cage before escapes, with a final fall between Heros and Yakuza. Yakuza won via valagueza, unmasking the (former?) IWRG early match wrestle. Heros is Arnurlfo Catalino, 27, 5 years a wrestler, from Ciudad Juarez.

CMLL (SUN) 03/27/2011 Arena Coliseo [Cesar, CMLL, Record]
1) Artillero & Súper Comando b Höruz & Robin
Horuz’s mask looked like his old mask. And he lost.
2) Bobby Zavala, Hijo del Signo, Hombre Bala Jr. DQ Inquisidor, Mortiz, Rayo Tapatío I
Gen2011 win in straight falls for the second straight week. With no Dragon Lee around, Hombre Bala got the honor of being fouled by a Tapatio. Rayos are unquestionably rudos in this feud.
3) Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata, Delta b Cancerbero, Euforia, Raziel
CMLL Twitter said Delta used a fujiwara armbar (on Euforia, escaping his finish) for the win, “like Princesa Sujei.” She does use an armbar and she’s still in CMLL, so sure.
4) Mephisto, Misterioso Jr., Rey Bucanero b Rush, Toscano, Valiente
Tecnicos had Monito with them to counter Zacarias. Bucanero and Rush were the last two in, with things looking back for Rey, but he managed to get a surprise pinfall. Bucanero challenged for a title match. Rush demanded a hair match. Bucanero fouled him for asking. It does hurt to ask!
5) Atlantis, Negro Casas, Volador Jr. DQ La Máscara, La Sombra, Super Porky
Atlantis pulled Sombra’s mask for the winner. Volador got in on the act and took La Mascara’s mask after the match.

Next week’s a Arena Coliseo Anniversary/Fan Appreciation show. Rush vs Bucanero is an obvious bonus match for the occasion.  (Classic one week setup.) Rush just beat Rey in a lighting match, so I wouldn’t expect a title match, but it will be interesting to see if Rush has a better match with Rey Bucanero than Mr. Aguila did. I know that sounds crazy, but it sounds very possible after seeing Sin Piedad.

In the post-Mistico efforts to rewrite history, Volador’s eternal rival has been switched over to La Mascara in recent months. Averno’s now forever feuding with Mascara Dorada. Which means Sombra’s biggest enemy is, uh, errr, hmmm, when is Jushin Liger free again?

Full IWRG results tomorrow, but Pollo Asesino lost his hair to Eterno. Seemed like the way things were heading once he stuck around to turn rudo.

The Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UNAL) today presented the new book “Sin Limite de Tiempo: Cronicas de Lucha Libre”, along with a photography exhibit showcasing the work of our hero Black Terry Jr. His work illustrates the book, and Milenio talks to him about his progression. Black Terry Jr.’s road to internationally renown photography fame* gets a nicer article than the actual book. I’d like to get the book, but I couldn’t find a place to get a copy. Any ideas?

* – except in countries where they can’t get around to returning emails, I guess.

For it’s next show, DTU will have two five way women’s matches, where the winners get to face Mari Apache for the AAA Reina de Reinas championship on the same show.  That doesn’t seem fair; Mari is going to destroy those poor girls. 10 on 1 might stand a chance. Maybe.

LuchaWorld has 50 to 41 in the top 2010 countdown and KrisZ’s news update.

SuperLuchas #407 has AAA in Leon results and more Sin Cara interview. Also, Dr. Karonte talking about the Luchas 2000 interview about Luchas 2000 interview, if you still care.

Luchas #563 2000 has Rey Misterio Jr. and AAA.

Lineup

CMLL (TUE) 03/29/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Leo vs Quca
2) Black Metal & Virgo vs Exterminador & Malefico
3) Metal Blanco & Palacio Negro vs Inquisidor & Raziel
4) Delta, Metro, Sangre Azteca vs Euforia, Misterioso Jr., Virus
5) Rush & Toscano vs Héctor Garza & Volador Jr.

Dear Felino: No one’s told you this, but Raziel is related to you. Trust me on this, don’t double check. You want to air that match and not the main event.

CMLL (SUN) 04/03/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Metatrón vs Ráfaga
2) Ángel Azteca, Molotov, Sensei vs Mortiz, Puma King, Tiger Kid
3) Diamante, Metro, Sagrado vs Cancerbero, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Máximo, Valiente vs Hirooki Goto, Terrible, Texano Jr.
5) Black Warrior, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Goto & the Renegados are a good mix. Surprised they’re not doing the super loaded card, since Santo, Perro, Demon and Rayo are headlining a show elsewhere in town.

IWRG (SUN) 04/03/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eterno & Tonatiuh vs El Pollo Asesino & Epidemia
2) ?, Freelance, Golden Magic vs Carta Brava Jr., Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II
3) Black Terry, Comando Negro, Multifacético, Oficial Fierro vs el Ángel, El Hijo del Diablo, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Trauma I [Relevos Increíbles]
4) Hijo de LA Park, Oficial AK47, Último Gladiador, Veneno vs Ángel Mortal, Angelico, Destroyer, Hijo de Pirata Morgan [Relevos Increíbles]

Those are all definitely matches.

  1. I’m surprised Pollo lost his hair to someone besides Multifacetico. I thought for sure that Multi would take that scalp before squaring off again with Comando Negro 1-on-1…

  2. By CMLL in GDL standards – isn’t that a loaded card? Very telling sign.

CMLL’s twitter yesterday said Horus was wrestling one last match with his old mask. I don’t get the logic in that but maybe new mask will equal new push. (hopefully not)

Maybe those top two IWRG matches next Sunday are in a cage and the losers have an apuesta match. Sorry Destroyer.

That La Paz guy has uploaded past shows as well but the match quality is just dreadful. I mean… it is an AAA spot show. It’s no wonder they draw what they do. I think the main event for the recent show was Wagner/Polvo vs Silver King/Yuriko. Yep.

Shame about Heroes. Was hoping to see him back in IWRG someday. Surprised he’s 27. Thought he was a teen straight out of training.

And of course congrats to BlackTerryJr!

  3. Dumb question:

In that IWRG lineup, what does it mean that Black Terry, Trauma I & Veneno’s names are in black? I’ve never noticed that before, though I’m certainly not the most perceptive guy out there…

  4. @Shane: Black = they’re not always tecnicos or rudos, will fight anyone.

Though Veneno’s pretty much stuck as a tecnico lately and I should fix that.

  5. Dude, Súper Luchas #407 has no Rey de Reyes results. They have Sín Cara’s House Show debut and the Léon tapings results. Correct that.
