Seik Mar Allah, a luchador of the 50s and 60s who appeared in Huracan Ramriez movies, passed away. He was honored before the second match.

Porra Fresa has a great hype post for Los Black Tigers vs Los Tigre Rojos, the opener of Monday’s Arena Puebla show. There’s a great desire from the regular fans in that building to see the locals actually get to have some meaningful matches (or follow thru on the feuds that’s been teased for years.) This isn’t quite that, but it is a bit more interesting than usual.

CMLL is sending a group of luchadors to Brazil on April 16 & 17th as part of the Virada Cultura festival. Those going are Angel de Oro, Hijo del Fantasma, Texano, Terrible, Stuka, Metro, Tiger Kid, Puma King, Rey Cometa, and Skandalo. They’re wrestling four times during the two days.

Ras de Lona continue the Rayo Tapatios getting more interview time this year than they have in the last ten. They’re also unconsidered if they’re rudos or tecnicos, which usually means they’re rudos. Angel de Plata was there for the trademark “let’s interview all the people in this tournament” segment, wonder where he went when they took pictures. Super Halcon Jr. talked about his debut match, and came off very steady for a newbie.

CMLL (FRI) 04/01/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Höruz & Robin vs Bronco & Cholo
2) Metálico, Starman, Tigre Blanco vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Nitro
3) Hombre Bala Jr. & La Máscara vs
Máscara Dorada & Metal Blanco and
Guerrero Maya Jr. & Máximo and
Averno & Palacio Negro and
Dragon Lee & Volador Jr. and
Mephisto & Tiger Kid and
Negro Casas & Puma King and
Black Warrior & Lestat [Gran Alternativa]
4) Rush, Strong Man, Super Porky vs Hirooki Goto, Mr. Águila, Olímpico

Lestat’s chances just went way up. I’m worried about my boy Palacio Negro; Averno may see a guy doing wacky flips all around him and slap him on instinct. Mascara Dorada & Metal Blanco are the on paper favorites, but they (too) could get tripped up by Averno.

Main event is the return of Strong Man. Goto probably would’ve rather teamed with Yoshihashi than those two by the time the match is over.

Ras de Lona announced 04/03 will be the Arena Coliseo Anniversary show. No lineup yet. Last year, they had Mistico vs Atalntis. It was just random normal cards in previous years.
