Kami-Robo, DTU vs Austria, lineups

Angel de Oro, Fuego, Diamante - maybe (photo by CMLL)

CMLL (SUN) 03/20/2011 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, CesarRecord]
1) Mortiz & SementalAstro Boy & Robin
Robin replaced Trueno.
2) Dragon Lee, Enrique Vera Jr., Magnus DQ Inquisidor, Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II
Rematch from last week’s cibernetico; unclear if the Rayos have switched sides on a more permanent basis. They lost in straight falls here, DQed in the second for taking Dragon Lee’s mask. Tapatios are playing with fire.
3) Skándalo, Tiger Kid, VirusGuerrero Maya Jr., Metatrón, Sensei
Guerrero Maya replaced Fabian el Gitano, who was honored with another moment of applause. Rudos won clean with Skandalo and Virus’ moves (and Tiger’s tornillo.)
4) Bird Man, Fujiyama, the OleDokuronger, Love Shock, Majin Jr.
Special Kami-Robi match. Tecnicos (Fuego, Angel de Oro, Diamante) beat rudos (Felino, Misterioso, Polvora) in different gear than usual.
5) Ephesto, Shigeo Okumura, VangelisHijo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Sangre Azteca
6) Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Rey BucaneroHéctor Garza, Mr. Águila, Olímpico
Lots of Niebla and Zacarias in this match.

You should click over to CMLL’s website to see the rudos in the Kami-Robo match. Fuego really needs to use this outfit from now on.

DTU (SAT) 03/19/2011 Arena Lopez Mateos [MTBlack Terry Jr. (flickr)Estrellas del Ring]
1) Lily Fighter b Chica Tormenta, Lolita, Keira, Yuki Star, Vanely, Vaquerita, Kamilión
Lily beat Chica Tormenta to win. Sexi Star turned up to be unimpressed by the win, and Lolita challenged Sexi to a match.
2) Drastic Boy b Eterno, Ciclope, Arena de Plata, Garra de Aguila, Abadon, Flamita, Tribal, Fenix, Dizzy
3) Robin Maravilla, Sadico, Yakzua b Hormiga, Paranoiko, Pesadilla and Comando Negro, Oficial 911, Oficial AK47
Comando Negro turned on the Oficials to set up the finish. Pequeno Cobra appeared to help the Oficials.
4) Negro Navarro b Solar I
Navarro replaced Shu el Guerrero. Shocked this match had a winner.
5) Zumbi b Black Dragon, Dement Extreme
Freelance and Segura, who are not big on making their bookings lately, were replaced by Dragon and Dement
6) Villano III & Villano IV b Aeroboy & Violento Jack
Iron Love was hurt, so he and Chucho el Roto bowed out of this match. Somehow, this made this not a AULL tag title match, even though Aero and Violento were the champ. Ultraviolent guys lost ultraviolently.
7) Crazy Boy b Super Devolucion
Crazy Boy put his opponent thru a table on fire to win back the artifact for Mexico. Just so slightly possible that Super Devolucion was not actually Austrian.

CMLL TLLP (SAT) 03/19/2011 Veterans Field, Laredo, Texas [@LeMonJaLowe]

2) La Comandante & Princesa SujeiEstrellita & Tiffany
Marcela & Dalis were announced, but replaced by Tiffany and Estrellita.
3) Héctor Garza & Mr. ÁguilaDragón Rojo Jr. & Último Guerrero
Non-title, though it had been advertised as for the belts. Best match of the night.
4) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara DoradaAverno, Mephisto, Volador Jr. [CMLL TRIOS]
Champions retain.

With that win, Generacion de Oro (they seem to be back to that name) have set the record for most known defenses of the trios titles, 8. It’s fairly likely Los Brazos actually had more and we haven’t found out about them (yet.)

DTU (photo by Black Terry Jr.)

Segura missed the DTU show was at the Arena Neza show. He lost to Neza Kid in a feud seemingly headed to a mask vs hair match. Mesias & Wagner beat Electroshock & Cibernetico in the main event, in front of a good turnout. Wagner stole the rudo’s fans drum during his match.

Full results from the IWRG show tomorrow, but Comando Negro kept the lightweight title with help from the guy he unmasked, El Pollo.

CMLL Gaceta has video interviews with the winners and the losers of Friday’s hair matches. Renegados want Rush & Shocker next.

Haven’t seen results yet from this weekend’s Lucha Libre USA show, but there’s handheld video of a match from a previous taping.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and 70 thru 60 in the top 100. I enjoyed the explanation of Bucanero leaving the Guerreros.

Lineups

IWRG (THU) 03/24/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Alan Extreme & Tonatiuh vs Dragon Fly & Imposible
2) Freelance, Golden Magic, Turbo vs Carta Brava Jr., El Pollo Asesino, Epidemia
3) Eterno, Multifacético, Veneno vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
4) Joe Lider, Silver King, Último Gladiador vs Bestia 666, Damián 666, X-Fly [IWRG IC TRIOS]

I’d bet on a title change, perhaps with the Oficials getting involved. Also: Turbo! Without Skayde! I didn’t know that was allowed.

CMLL (FRI) 03/25/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Bengala & Leono vs Camorra & Semental
2) Dark Angel, Goya Kong, Marcela vs Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei
3) Rey Cometa & Toscano vs Magnus & Super Porky and Hijo del Signo & Mr. Niebla and Atlantis & Fuego and Escorpion & Último Guerrero and Diamante & La Sombra and Ángel de Plata & Blue Panther and Mortiz & Terrible [Gran Alternativa, semifinal]
4) Black Warrior, Máscara Dorada, Rush vs Averno, Héctor Garza, Mephisto

New main event. Perhaps Black Warrior got involved in a different match than earlier planned?

There’s no defeinite word if they’re doing one or two weeks, but there are certainly Gen11 guys who’d make sense for next week.

CMLL (SUN) 03/27/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Metalik vs In Memoriam
2) Hierro & Metatrón vs Drago & León Blanco
3) Metálico & Starman vs Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
4) Dark Angel, Lluvia, Silueta vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Zeuxis
5) Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Psicosis vs Hirooki Goto, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Goto getting around quick.

IWRG (SUN) 03/27/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Dragon Fly & Tonatiuh vs Epidemia & Imposible
2) Centurión & Jack vs Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II
3) Dinamic Black, Fantasma Jr., Golden Magic vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
4) el Ángel, Multifacético, Veneno vs Avisman, Destroyer, El Hijo del Diablo
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan vs ? [Junior de Juniors]

Main event would seem to suggest that Pirata is going to retain his title tonight, but he could be challenging, or the card could change.

  1. Isn’t it funny that if AAA ran that same “exhibition match” all you’d hear is what a joke they are and how that is the typical “payasadas por Triple A”. But CMLL does it and nobody says nothing about “la seria y estable”. MMHMM.

Super Devolucion has the same shape as Toxico.

“Segura missed the DTU show was at the Arena Neza show. He lost to Neza Kid in a feud seemingly headed to a mask vs hair match.”

This is entirely possible and the result will be hilarious.:)

Turbo/Freelance together for the IWRG taping looks awesome although I’m assuming it won’t come off as listed. Turbo without Black Thunder is actually more shocking to me than Turbo without Skayde.

“Konnan may be right, but no one has ever gotten someone to stop being bitter by telling them “stop being bitter.””

Would be awesome if we could go back to 1996 and tell Konnan to stop being bitter and just stay with AAA to get his reaction.

AAA TV had all the matches from Morelia. I really enjoyed Bizarros vs Maniacos/Zorro.

  2. So happy to see Turbo on that IWRG card and it looks like a show that will make TV!!
