Sombra vs Psicosis & Mephisto, Ultimo Dragon, Sin Cara and his masked friend

CMLL (MON) 03/07/2011 Arena Puebla [SporTimes, Fuego en el Ring]
1) Centella de Oro & Silver b Akron & Sauron
2) Black Tiger, Höruz, Trueno b Artillero, Espiritu Maligno, Súper Comando
3) Cancerbero, Escorpion, Raziel b Arkángel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo
Straight falls. Escorpion and Loco Max agreed to a hair match.
4) Terrible, Texano Jr., Vangelis b Máximo, Toscano, Valiente
Recap says Terrible beat Maximo with the Canadian Destroyer. Probably actually the Terrible Clash.
5) Héctor Garza, Olímpico, Psicosis b Blue Panther, La Máscara, La Sombra
Psicosis beat Sombra, by pulling off his mask and covering him. Sombra challenged him to a singles match. Psicosis agreed, but only if they do a mask match if Psicosis beats him clean again. Sombra approved.

Toryumon Mexico (SUN) 03/06/2011 Sala de Armas Magdalena Mixhuca [The Gladiatores]
1) Daisuke Hanaoka b Bizarro
2) XL b KTF
Two of the guys in from Chile
3) Demus 3:16 b Pequeño Nitro
4) Lluvia & Marcela b La Nazi & Mima Shimoda
5) Brazo de Oro, Brazo de Platino, Super Brazo b Nitro, Sangre Azteca, Skándalo
Sangre back as a rudo for one night, though he had his issues with the rudos.
6) Último Dragón DRAW Black Tiger V [NWA IJH]
double pin in the third fall. Black Tiger was annoyed with that and demanded another fall.
7) Black Tiger V b Último Dragón
All out brawl. Tiger wasn’t happy about this and brawled with Dragon around the arena. Tiger won, then pulled off Dragon’s mask. Mask match challenges followed. Dragonmania is in May and probably the time it happens.

Tonight, La Mascara defends the national light heavyweight championship versus Ultimo Guerrero. Mascara has lost to his own hold two straight weeks, but we’d expect for him to hold onto the title tonight. I mean, heavyweight champion Ultimo Guerrero is going to have his strength sapped from all the dieting down to make 97 kg.

CMLL added Mephisto vs Sombra for the NWA Welterweight Championship to Sunday’s Arena Mexico show, with no other alterations. It’s going to be tricky to fit the trios tournament, that title match, and the 8 man cibernetico and any other match in the usual two hours of Guerreros del Ring shows.

Okumura is replacing Cancerbero on the Dos Leyendas card. SamuraiTV needs some Okumura, maybe.

A debut vignette for Sin Cara aired on WWE Raw last night. He’s still doing La Mistica, wonder what they’ll call it. Of note, one of the two guys taking his moves is the former Alex Koslov. As Alfred pointed out, the other guy in the segment sure takes a headscissors in lucha style, quite like Averno does. Hmmmm. (Averno worked shows on Friday and Sunday night in DF.) Televisa actually cut out the segment in the Mexico broacast of RAW, which is amazingly dumb.

Marcela, Amapola and La Comandate will be part of International Day Of Women festivities today.

Dorian Roldan, told to contact Paco Alonso directly, took to twitter to ask for Paco Alonso’s phone number and to attempt to start a hash tag meme. This is now kind of a joke story, but I’m still hoping Dorian visits Arena Mexico and takes along a camera. That’s how you do PR stunts.

Black Terry Jr. has pictures from the Puebla AAA TV taping, and video of Fantasma de la Opera vs Oro II from the expo (fall 1, fall 2, fall 3, rematch fall, Oro post match, Fantasma post match.) Amo de la Lucha has video of Tiger Kid, Puma King, Virus vs Los Traumas & Cerebro Negro, plus Solar & Negro Navarro applying holds.

Danish photojounalist Sara Galbiati has a great set of lucha libre portraits. (Pequeno Hallowen sighting!)

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and the start of the 2010 top 100 countdown!

Bam Bam vs Pequeño Olímpico for the CMLL World Mini Estrellas Championship: I’ve never really gotten into Pequeno Olimpico; he was a competent but not spectacular tecnico in a group of really spectacular tecnicos. It makes more sense for him to be on the rudo side with all the new guys being rudos, but I haven’t seen anything in particular in him on the rudo side. Pequeno Olimpico is a better luchador than Pequeno Nitro, for sure, but Nitro feels more like a rudo so far. Anyway, Olimpico’s champion, this match happened. The first two falls were kind of a waste, and the crowd didn’t much get into until the end. If this was 2001 and all we got to see was the last minute or so, we’d be dying to see the rest. The rest was just okay.

Blue Panther, Super Porky, Toscano vs Héctor Garza, Negro Casas, Volador Jr.: crowd far, far more into this, though this was proabbly the worse match. Either Negro didn’t feel like actually touching anyone today or the camerawork was was much more unflattering to him than usual. Toscano should just use the cristo to win matches > Toscano using a suplex as a finish.
