FMLL CMLL (SAT) 03/05/2011 Monumental Plaza de Toros, Guadalajara [MT, SuperLuchas, Estrellas del Ring, Fuego en el Ring, Mi Lucha Libre]
1) Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada, Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Black Warrior, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
2) Puma King, Tiger Kid, Virus b Dr. Cerebro, Trauma I, Trauma II
Dr. Cerebro has to be strechered out after a move in the match.
3) Blue Panther & Solar I DRAW Negro Navarro & Satánico
Usual tie.
4) Héctor Garza, Terrible, Texano Jr. b La Máscara, La Sombra, Valiente
5) Fantasma de la Ópera b Oro II [mask]
Bloody bout. Fantasma de la Opera win the third fall using the ropes. Oro II is Ismael Hernandez Islas, 35 years old, 18 years a wrestler, from Guadalajara.
6) Oro II b Fantasma de la Ópera [mask]
Immediate mask vs hair rematch, with Oro quickly getting revenge. Fantasma de la Opera is Juan Alvaro Mejia Morales, 33 years old, 13 years a wrestler, from Mexico City. A new Oro, nephew of the original and a young kid, was introduced after the match.
7) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero b Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Niebla and Felino tried to get Rey to turn during the match, but Rey played fair, and his new team beat his old team.
Oro II says this was his last match, complaining that he was not programming strong enough in his most recent CMLL run. (He was also not very good.) Oro II says the new Oro is 18 and has been wrestling since 2008, though under another name. He’d like to see the Oro name carried on. Fantasma de la Opera says he’s not going to retire. Estrellas del Ring has post match video interviews from both. MedioTiempo’s article says 6,000 showed up in attendance. Milenio says 5,000. The photos looked a lot closer to 1,000; maybe that’s all the people who came for the expo part of the show. Many of the articles complain the show (at least the media part of it) was not well run. Mi Lucha Libre has photos from around the expo area.
CMLL (SUN) 03/06/2011 Arena Coliseo [Cesar, CMLL]
1) Artillero & Súper Comando b Bengala & Principe
2) Ángel de Plata, Leono, Metálico b Bronco, Escorpion, Tiger Kid
It began to rain outside – and the rain seeped in from the ceiling for a while during this match. That’ll be fun. Not fun: Angel de Plata is doing his shooting star press to the floor in every match, and there was no one to catch him this time. (Escorpion and Bronco were there.) Plata was out of the match after that, and CMLL says he has a back bruise Tiger Kid eliminated Metalico, but was caught by a surprise Leono armbar for the pin.
3) Delta, Fuego, Sagrado DQ Pólvora, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
Okumura fouled Sagrado.
4) Brazo de Plata, Máximo, Sangre Azteca b Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero
With the other four out of action, Bucanero and Zacarias tried to foul Maximo and Monito, but the tenicos blocked it and kissed the rudos! Maximo then pinned UG with his feet on the ropes. A fine day for Maximo.
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS]
Sombra, with a hurt left elbow, still beat Mephsito to keep the trios titles. Said to be the best match on the show. Sombra challenged Mephisto to put up his title in a singles match.
SuperLuchas 404 is not broken. It does have a couple of one side versus the other interviews. Demus and Virus both talk about Friday’s big match. Demus says he’s a winner, so he’s not really concerned with losing and repeats his promise to cut back on Cancerbero membership once he’s in charge among other statements. Virus is pretty sure he’s going to win, but the minis are all people he’s friends with or has trained, so it wouldn’t be the end of him.
Possibly of more important is Dorian Roldan and Juan Manuel Mar (Panico) & Jose Lose Feliciano (Guerrero del Futuro) about Dorian’s twitter comments. Dorian’s comments are about what he’s said everywhere else, except when asked if he sees CMLL/AAA as a big show, he puts forth the idea of a tour. I think he doesn’t want CMLL and AAA to work together, he’d like them to be together. (And I think CMLL would rather be severely hurt and watch AAA die than be even a little better with AAA’s help. But that’s a guess.)
The CMLL programming crew does not rule out CMLL/AAA cross promotion, but that’s a decision that Paco Alonso would have to make. If Dorian really wants to request that, he needs to do it face to face with Alonso – they’re both down on Dorian for trying to do this over social networks. (Getting any face to face with Alonso is a tough task, even for those who work for him. Dorian notes that they’ve only ever talked once.) For their own promotion, they feel all forms of entertainment are down because of the bad economy, not just lucha libre. They also feel they have all the talent they need already in CMLL to turn things around, so they don’t actually need AAA.
They also say lucha libre is not dependent on a single move or a single luchador, which brings us to Mistico. The interviewer actually asks them why not let the next would-be Mistico create his own legend under his own name, and Panico either misses or sidesteps the question entirely. His idea is they’ll survey the trainers from CMLL affiliated schools and classes, and the best young wrestlers will compete for the name (in what sounds like a tournament, but is very vague.) The winner will not use La Mistica and will have to earn his way up the card, just like everyone else, which again makes you wonder why they’re even bothering. My only theory is they’re afraid that if CMLL doesn’t have a Mistico, every tiny indy promotion will start having their own – like what’s happened with Huracan Ramirez – but everyone so knows what happened with the real Mistico that I can’t imagine that be a problem. The interviewer suggests Magnus, Dragon Lee, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro as candidates, but Panico doesn’t pick any names himself.
There’s also an interview with Dollar. A two page interview!

Lineups
IWRG (THU) 03/10/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Alan Extreme & Tonatiuh vs Epidemia & Halcon 2000
2) Dinamic Black, Eterno, Jack vs Carta Brava Jr., Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II
3) Cerebro Negro, Multifacético, Veneno vs Comando Negro, Hammer, Magnifico
4) Joe Lider, Silver King, Último Gladiador vs Bestia 666, Damián 666, X-Fly
New trios champs vs the Perros. Multifacetico has had the longest title chase in this promotion in some time, provided he actually gets Comando Negro in a match at some point.
CMLL (SUN) 03/13/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Camaleón & Robin vs Cholo & Zayco
2) Inquisidor, Mortiz, Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II vs Bobby Zavala, Dragon Lee, Hijo del Signo, Hombre Bala Jr. [cibernetico]
3) Fuego, Metro, Sagrado vs Dr. X, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi
4) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Volador Jr. and El Alebrije, Olímpico, Psicosis and Averno, Ephesto, Rey Bucanero
This is probably going to be overhauled if tonight’s title match challenge actually happens (though maybe not, since Mephisto isn’t on his team), but it’s to chaotic not to share. A four rudo trios tournament in the main event. The segunda is listed as novatos vs veterans, but you’d have a hard time figuring out who the vets were if not for the Tapatios.
Anyone seen Super Halcon Jr.? Is he okay? Did they just forget about him in the whole Mistico/Magnus excitement? Are they saving him to introduce as the new Averno or something?
CMLL (SUN) 03/13/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Javier Cruz Jr. vs Metalik
2) Astaroth & Hierro vs Drago & León Blanco
3) Meteoro & Virgo vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Violencia
4) Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata, Stuka Jr. vs Escorpion, Euforia, Vangelis
5) La Máscara, Rush, Valiente vs Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero
Escorpion wrestles semifinals somedays, in a hair match feud with Loco Max, and openers in Arena Mexico other days. I don’t think there is a consensus on where he belongs at this point. Tough match for the GDL minis in the tercera.
IWRG (SUN) 03/13/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Alan Extreme vs Keshin Black
2) Dinamic Black, Eterno, Golden Magic vs Carta Brava Jr., Epidemia, Imposible
3) Mari Apache, Mascarita Divina, Multifacético vs Comando Negro, Mini Charly Manson, Sexy Star
4) ?, Hijo de LA Park, Ultramán Jr. vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Máscara Año 2000, Scorpio Jr.
5) ?, El Dandy, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs ?, ??, Head Hunter I
Seems like there’s more money in the talent budget around here lately. Semifinal seems to be a juniors deal.

Damn. As a Fantasma De La Opera fan, really wish he hadn’t dropped the mask to someone who was retiring immediately after taking his mask. At least he won one more mask before dropping his.
CMLL vs AAA would have been good right up until 2005. The AAA of today is not any kind of competition for CMLL, and nobody would care enough about this.
They did a AAA vs CMLL thing almost 10 years ago. Unfortunatly it was poorly planned with the large arena not having any ground level seating. But at least there was enough interest to get that thing going.
