CMLL (MON) 02/28/2011 Arena Puebla [Sportimes]
1) Asturiano, Milenium, Stigma b Fuerza Chicana, King Jaguar, Siki Osama
Asturiano was stretched out, and his team lost.
2) Dalys la Caribeña, Dark Angel, Luna Mágica b Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sujei, Zeuxis
3) Arkángel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo b Cancerbero, Escorpion, Raziel
Loco Max challenged Escorpion to a hair match. Escorpion agreed, only if they did a normal singles match first.
4) Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Rush b Euforia, Pólvora, Virus [MEX TRIOS]
first defense.
5) Averno b Máscara Dorada
Averno took the first, Dorada the third. Averno threw Dorada into the ref, then pulled Dorada’s mask and rolled him up for the rudo win. Dorada challenged Averno to a mask match. Averno cautioned Dorado to be careful who he’s messing with. Averno said he might have a mask match in Arena Mexico, but never in a town like Puebla. Puebla fans were not happy.
GoldVillano, who I have trouble believing at times , says Dr. Karonte was unhappy with the Sin Cara interview in Luchas 2000. Dr. Karonte (Sin Cara’s father) says he was standing there for the interview, then read the interview and realized Luchas 2000 manufactured a question/answer to “confirm” their interviews in recent weeks were not made up. Dr. Karonte is adamant that quote and the other interviews are fiction. This is all very second and third hand.
The bigger point here is everyone believes Luchas 2000 was inventing interviews with Mistico for the last month. For me, it really doesn’t matter if the information Luchas 2000 had was fabricated or false information fed to them, it was still wrong. And wrong info that people involved in that magazine definitely knew was wrong for a long time before Thursday’s press conference. They served their customers well, just their customers weren’t the people who were buying the magazine off the newsstand.
The GoldVillano interview also mentions Karonte concern that Astro Boy may be punished, but it’s awful tough to punish a guy who only works openers and gets maybe 3 matches a month. (He had 29 last year.) There’s no mention of Magnus here as another brother who may be in trouble. One of the reasons we think Magnus is related to Sin Cara/Karonte/Astro Boy (though more likely a cousin) is because Magnus is not the first name that man’s used. He was also the new Astro Boy who debuted on December Toryumon Mexico show.
El Siglo de Torreon has an article about the few Laguna luchadors who have actually gotten a license. It’s an annual tradition! This year, they’ve published the complete list of licensed luchadors: Shira (women wrestler), Lady Angel (women), Principe Zorro (opening match guy) and El Tackle (el Tackle!) There’s said to be about a 180 luchadors in the area, who all would be fined or suspended if they don’t get licensed by their next match. We never ever actually hear about that part happening.
Zumbido puts his hair against Hijo del Solitario on the 18th. I wonder if there will be live coverage of that show? (I wonder why, of all days, they picked that day.) I like how the preview says a Zumbido win would be one of his greatest triumphant. “One of”? I must be blanking on the other sons of legends he’s unmasked.
Also in the area, a new class specifically for apsring luchadoras, because there’s few around La Laguna. The two women who have licensed seem to turn up more in Arena Femenil in Monterrey than their home area.
The game developer behind AAA Heroes del Ring mentions the game ranked in the top 5 among third party devloped games in Mexico during the Christmas season. “Mixed results in other countries.” No sequel is mentioned.
Black Terry Jr. has video from Coliseo Coalaco (the segunda?) and the Sunday IWRG opener (fall 1, fall 2, fall 3)
