CMLL AULL (WED) 02/16/2011 Arena Lopez Mateos [Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Eros, Freelance, Rey Krystal b Hombre sin Rostro, Juan el Caporal, Ronny Ventura
2) Love Angel, Mike Segura, Zumbi b Destroyer, Epitafio, Rey Krimen
3) Iron Love, Sadico, Yakuza b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
Yakzua was injured, but his AULL all star team still beat the IWRG trios champs.
4) La Máscara & Latin Lover b Arkángel de la Muerte & Black Warrior [UWE TAG, eightfinal]
5) Héctor Garza & Olimpico b Máximo & Sagrado [UWE TAG, eightfinal]
6) Héctor Garza & Olímpico b La Máscara & Latin Lover [UWE TAG, quarterfinal]
Garza stole Mascara’s mask to pin him, Latin pinned Olimpico, and Garza snuck in a foul on Latin to advance.
Maximo worked the show and appears to be going nowhere. Around midnight last night, the Maximo Alvarado facebook page was updated, with the user claiming Maximo had changed his mind and decided to stay in CMLL after all. Unless Maximo decided to address this in person – and that doesn’t seem like the current CMLL way of doing things – that’s probably the last word on it for now. If this was a fake, they accomplished their goal of getting a lot of attention for a day (and we’ll surely see more fakes like this in the future even if it was true.) If it really was Maximo, then I guess he sort of lived his gimmick, because this was quite the diva move.
Earlier, Dorian Roldan had unhelpfully tweeted that Maximo to AAA was only a rumor. He didn’t say it was a false rumor or a true rumor, only really noting that it was something that had been said. (I agree!)
The four final teams in the UWE Tag Team tournament appear to be Atlantis/Ultimo Guerrero, Mascara Ano 2000 Sr./Cien Caras Jr., Chucho el Roto/Iron Love and Garza/Olimpico.
CMLL (TUE) 02/15/2011 Arena Queretaro [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Low Rider b Alex Guajardo
2) Cachorro & Zumba b Tauro & Voraz
these four are mentioned as Ultimo Guerrero trainees
3) Dance Boy, Drabek I, Drabek II b Galaxy, King Azteca, Ursus
4) Diamante, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sangre Azteca DQ Pólvora, Terrible, Texano Jr.
Polvora yanked Sangre Azteca’s mask. The two are still talking mask match
5) La Máscara b Volador Jr. [MEX LH]
said to be a very good match.
On his biweekly appearance on Figure Four Daily, Steve Sims explained why CMLL has seemed to change tactics about Mistico (from writing him out and preparing to rip him to just ignoring the whole thing): many in CMLL’s offices believe Mistico will not do well in WWE and will end up leaving them, maybe even by the end of this year, and then CMLL might just be able to bring him back and move on.
AAA posted three March house show lineups yesterday, and I can’t decide which one is my favorite. Is it the one where barely mobile Konnan is forced to team with Alan Stone, the mystery Pierroth Jr. continues his mysterious feud with Joe Lider and no one can spell Ludark? Or is it the one with the tecnico (?) team of La Parka, Argenis, and Yuriko? I wonder which Gemelos are working this Mexico State show – the Fantasticos from past IWRG?
DTU announced Jennifer Blake would be on their 03/05 show @ Arena Lopez Mateos. That means she’s probably returning to AAA on the 03/04 taping in Puebla.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and this week’s Ras de Lona.

Lineups
CMLL (TUE) 02/22/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Freesbe & Höruz vs Apocalipsis & Mortiz
2) La Comandante, Mima Shimoda, Tiffany vs Estrella Mágica, Goya Kong, Lluvia
3) Euforia, Raziel, Virus vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Demus 3:16, Hijo del Signo
4) Ephesto vs Rush [CMLL LH]
5) La Máscara, Super Porky, Toscano vs Averno, Mephisto, Último Guerrero
Rush seems like the heavy favorite in the title match, and also seems not quite ready for this meteoric push. This works a lot better if it feels like Rush is earning it, not being given it, and the best thing they could do for him right now is have him lose. The fans are less receptive to this sort of push then they were years ago.
Demus gets his rematch. Signo being in the match is interesting; Cesar mentioned months back that novatos were prohibited from appearing back to back weeks, so is Signo no longer considered a rookie?
Estrella Magica hasn’t been seen since October, which makes a trying match look a little more interesting.
