AAA: part 2 of best of

LATV: rerurns

52MX: a very rare Rayo Tapatios match (first non-tournament match on a GdR show, first time as a team on a show since 2008) + the finals of the trios tournament. The Saturday afternoon airing of this show seems to have gone missing; it’s still on Sunday morning.

Teleformula: if they’re back to airing the usual stuff, this week is the Mistico vs Mephisto singles.

—–

CMLL-MEX: back to new stuff, including Mephisto vs Fantasma and Mistico/Maximo/Porky vs Pesta Negra in certain hilarity.

AAA: Part 4 and final of YiR.

CMLL-FOX: Guerrerso vs Panther, Sombra, Mistico

C3: La Mascara vs Psicosis + Hombre Bala’s debut.

CMLL-GDL: bonus match is Truenos vs Cats.

Puebla: listed as only an hour, so Mistico/Negro and the semimian.

Multimedios: back to the main event from this past Sunday? Or maybe the Medico/Chica singles match?

IWRG: back on Thursday this past week, so whatever happens tonight.

CMLL-TFN: onto reruns

Mascara defeats Psicosis, Cats vs Thunder, Dos Leyendas

CMLL (TUE) 01/11 Arena Mexico
***Fan Appreciation Show (January, Tuesday)***
1) Bengala & Camaleón b Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Dr. X, Durango Kid, Hooligan b Ángel Azteca Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Metálico
3) Dalys la Caribeña, Luna Mágica, Marcela b Amapola, La Seductora, Mima Shimoda
4) Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Místico DQ Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero
5) La Máscara b Psicosis

El Hombre de Campana won with another one, then challenged him to mask vs mask match.

Ultimo Guerrero fouled Misitco in the second fall (straight fall loss), then the Guerreros ripped up his mask. Hijo de Fantasma replaced Mascara Dorada, who’s probably still hurt and getting a little extra time off.

Marcela and Luna beat Amapola and Mima to take their match.

Angel Azteca Jr. replaced Guerrero Maya Jr. Still sort of surprises me that Bala is a tecnico. It’s a rudo family.

CMLL (TUE) 01/11 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Acertijo b El Divino
2) Molotov & Sensei b Malefico & Ráfaga
3) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Puma King & Tiger Kid
4) Shigeo Okumura, Virus, Yoshihashi b Black Metal, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro
5) Máximo, Rush, Toscano DQ Héctor Garza, Texano Jr., Volador Jr.

Volador blasted Rush with a foul to get the DQ.

The tecnico kids stood up to the rudos in the semimain, but still got put down. Virus beat Palacio Negro, Okumura suplexed Metal Blanco.

Puma & Tiger have been undefeated as a team on Sunday shows, but took a loss to another pair of brothers on their Tuesday debut. Cats demanded a rematch.

No Maya here either. Molotov took his place. We still haven’t seen Maya since he was sidelined with hepatitis.  Sensei and Malefico may be feuding.

Samurai was back as ref on this show.

We knew Nitro had won Galactico (San Luis Potosi)’s mask in mid December, but this post reveals Nitro also won the mask of “Power” in Siero de la Nacion, Mexico State on New Year’s Day. Not much of a win when it takes 10 days for anyone to notice, but a win’s a win.

CMLL PR also hypes these possible Dos Leyendas apuesta matches:
– Psicosis vs La Mascara
– Sombra vs Volador
– Dragon Rojo vs Mistico
– Hijo del Fantasma vs Mephisto

First one or last seem more likely, if it’s even on the list.

In Monterrey, Rey Vagabundo lost his mask to Pegasso, but it’s not the Pegasso from AAA & CMLL.

Lucha Libre USA wrestlers are scheduled to appear at the “largest matanza (pig roast) in the world” in Albuquerque on 01/29.

5) El Hijo Del Santo vs Blue Demon Jr.

Big show in Tijuana, if everyone shows. That’s Rayman in the semimain. He was in the magazines last fall, saying he could not have a better father than Rayo de Jalisco Jr., so they’re clearly on good terms again.

CMLL (MON) 01/17 Arena Puebla

It’s nice they remembered Mistico this year, though I think we should all vote for Sombra to drive him insane. More insane. Definitely vote for Mr. Niebla so he can make another surprise return.

Mistico defeats Casas, Perros, Santo, Lucha Libre USA, DTU

La Parka really needs to learn how to share.

CMLL (MON) 01/10 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio]
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Máximo
5) Místico b Negro Casas

Negro with for La Mistica, Mistico got free and beat Negro with a casita.

The article quotes Averno saying he and Mephisto are the best team, and they and the Guerreros are the most important groups in CMLL.

Perros del Mal announced upcoming shows
01/15 Ecatepec
01/27 Toluca
02/01 Pachuca
02/05 Tlanepantla
TBD Tijuana, Cancun, Cozumel, Merida

Ecatepec is an AAA taping – maybe Toluca is too? They usually tape there, though not in Pachuca (Arena Aficion) and Tlanepantla (Arena Lopez Mateos. Perros have also switched their official twitter to @PDMOficial wonder what happened with their old one.

El Hijo del Santo explains he listed “la de a caballo” as a dancing move because he had to pick a genre, not because he considers it a dance. Santo says AAA’s meme about it was because he’s suing them, and didn’t make much sense since they have so many people who actually do dance. Santo says AAA has little morals, for things like how they ripped LA Park on TV and then treated him as a big star when he came back. Santo says he has a big surprise on Feburary 5th, the 27th anniversary of his father’s death. The surprise is “a gift for him.”

Lucha Libre USA action figures are now in Walmart, including Marco Corleone. Their next taping is 01/22.

CMLL’s HD broadcasts are supposed to start Saturday with the main show on Televisa. They’ll also be starting on Fox Sports next weekend. 52MX’s show will also go HD, though the article doesn’t make it clear when that’s happening. Does anyone get the HD versions of these channels?

Surropa.com held a contest last night to promote “the upcoming launch of our officially licensed CMLL t-shirt collection.” First I’ve heard of this, hoping these are cool shirts.

Al Filo del Ring has the video of IWRG’s main event from Sunday.

Hector Garza & Mascara Sagrada are part of Lucha Va Voom’s Valentine’s Day shows (02/09 & 02/10).

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Lineup

indy (TUE) 01/11 Arena Aficion [Hidalgo Sport]
1) Aracnido & Nino Tormenta vs Caribe King & Kyozer
2) Sexy Lady vs Ludark
3) Maldito Jr. & Samot vs Big Boy & Super Brazo
4) Fray Tormenta, Super Crazy, X-Fly vs Bestia 666, Boy Danger, Bugambilia [mask, hair]

Fray Tormenta! 65 Years Old! Teaming with Super Crazy & X-Fly! Putting his mask on the line! I think this will be different than, say, the Psycho Circus vs Perros del Mal cage match. Whoever takes the pinfall in the third fall loses their hair or mask.

Guys in the opener are Tormenta trainees, and I’d bet Boy Danger is one too.

DTU (SAT) 01/29 Arena Lopez Mateos
1) Dement Xtreme & Lily Monster vs Muerte Bucanera & Oyuki Star
2) Crazy Boy & Lolita vs Keira & Tribal and Daga & Lily Fighter
3) Hormiga & Vaquerita vs Sexy Star & Zumbi and Angelica & Cinthia Moreno
4) Drastic Boy, Máscara Oriental, Vanely vs Ashley, Cyrus, Flamita and Ciclope, Eterno, Megan
5) Fabi Apache & Mari Apache vs Trauma I & Trauma II
6) Aeroboy & Chica Tormenta vs Cerebro Negro & Shitara
7) Paranoiko vs Violento Jack
8) Joe Lider vs Super Mega, Rey Latino

Theme of this show is women in every match but the top 2. The highlight of that is the Apaches vs Traumas. Maybe without Old Man Navarro around, they can actually do that match this time.

Semimain is three falls: first fall “classic”, second fall “extreme”, third fall “ultraviolent”. I had no idea there was a difference between the last two.

Silver King wins in IWRG, Mascara/Bucanero, Octagon/frosty desserts

Multifacetico IV/Black Terry Jr.

IWRG (SUN) 01/09 Arena Naucalpan [Mi Lucha Libre, Estrellas del Ring, Black Terry Jr. (flickr)]
1) Epidemia b Centurión
2) Dinamic Black & Eragon b Alan Extreme & Hammer
3) Bugambilia, El Pollo, Multifacetico IV b Carta Brava Jr., Comando Negro, Eterno
4) Black Terry & Negro Navarro b Ángel Mortal & Gran Apache
5) Damián 666, Hijo del Lizmark, Silver King b Veneno, Tinieblas Jr., Trauma I

The lineup we had was Damian/Silver/?, the lineup at the show had Oficial 911/Lizmark/Silver, and the end result split the difference. (Meanwhile, Veneno replaced Mascara 2K Jr.) Damian yanked Tinieblas’ mask, and Lizmark cradled him for the win.

Semimain is up: Fall 1, Fall 2, Fall 3

Multifacetico beat Comando Negro with a piledriver-like move. Those two are immediately feuding.

CMLL (SUN) 01/09 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Virgo b Thunder Boy
2) Dr. X & Drago b Astro Boy & Neutrón
3) Amapola & La Comandante b Goya Kong & Silueta
4) Felino, Shigeo Okumura, Yoshihashi b Fuego, Gallo, Sagrado
5) Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr. b Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada

Bucanero defeated La Mascara cleanly, then asked for a title shot. Mascara offered mask vs hair.

Felino snuck in a foul on his rival Gallo for the pin. The rooster is looking for all sorts of revenge on the feline.

Goya Kong replaced Marcela. There’s only two way Goya Kong matches end: she splashes the other team for the win, or she splashes her partner for the loss. This was the latter, and Silueta was strechered out.

Thunder Boy replaced Cholo. No word if refunds were offered.

Lineup

CMLL (SUN) 01/16 Arena Coliseo
1) Freesbe & Principe vs Camorra & Zayco
2) Astro Boy, Horus, Starman vs Apocalipsis, Demus 3:16, Skándalo
3) Fuego, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Cancerbero, Euforia, Raziel
4) Blue Panther, Super Porky, Toscano vs Atlantis, Averno, Héctor Garza
5) Místico vs Último Guerrero

Back at Arena Coliseo after all. Never mind.

CMLL (SUN) 01/16 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Metalik vs Acertijo
2) Metatrón & Virgo vs Inquisidor & Loco Max
3) Ángel de Oro & Ángel de Plata vs Drago & Exterminador
4) Gallo, Hijo del Fantasma, Valiente vs Felino, Sangre Azteca, Volador Jr.
5) La Máscara vs Rey Bucanero [MEX LH]

Bucanero wins! Well, he wins the title match, not so sure about this title.

These lineups means the only show not getting a singles main event next week is Tuesday’s Guadalajara show. Probably more a lot of different plans happening to coincide than one master plan, just because there is never a master plan.
