CMLL (SUN) 01/02 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Cesar]
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II b Camorra & Cholo
2) Leono, Molotov, Starman DQ Dr. X, Durango Kid, Nitro
3) Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada, Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior
4) Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Rush b Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro, Sagrado [#1 Contenders, MEX TRIOS, final]
5) Místico, Rotoporky, Toscano b El Alebrije, Olímpico, Psicosis
Main event sounds better than it looks. Fan pleasing tecnico win, with Porky flattening the rudos with a splash in the end. Doesn’t sound like they did anything particular with Psicosis/Mistico. It looks like Alebrije actually lifted Porky up in wheel barrow position in this match, which is just amazing. The man has lost a lot of weight.
Team GDL, which has won it’s group in Arena Coliseo, got no reaction coming out. The crowd was in favor of Rush’s team. By the end of the three falls (GDL took the first, Rush took the second), the crowd had turned out to root for the losers. Cesar says the guys in this match put on a bigger air show than Saturday’s Reyes del Aires, and seems to be joining in our Palacio Negro love fest. Rush probably won’t be joining – he showed rudo aspects against, which was pointed out by CMLL’s recaps. The other four flew, but Sagrado and Rush brawled, then had strong words post match. Angel de Oro tried to broke a peace, but it didn’t look like it’d take. Metal Blanco was hurt on the finish, Diamante’s 450 splash including a bit of knees to the face. Can’t wait to see this match on TV. Now, as expected, the two losers of the fan vote go on to face the winner in next week’s title match.
Electrico and Pequeno Warrior continue to feud. Electrico won this battle with the rolling tapatia.
Second match went two falls (which neatly gives more time to the tournament final.) Dr. X yanked Starman’s mask for the DQ, and there were challenges after.

“Rush probably won’t be joining – he showed rudo aspects against, which was pointed out by CMLL’s recaps.”
TOO SOON. TOO SOON. TOO SOON! Hopefully someone on the CMLL booking staff is reading this and listens to someone smarter than they are (that’d be me).
Also, holy crap was Rush sporting major backne on this weekend’s TV.
