Tinieblas Jr., Mistico to NJPW, Super Fly

No full results from the show, but Nitro apparently won the mask of SLP native Galactico at a show last night in Auditorio Miguel Barragan.

A real estate developer in Puebla is accusing Tinieblas Jr. and others of ripping him off and beating him when he complained about it. According to the accuser, Tinieblas and a couple of comedians badgered the developer into running a lucha show, promising to give him 60% of the profit if he put the money up to run it. After the show, Tinieblas Jr. and the others just took the money and ran. When the developer continued to complain about it, he was attacked in his home and threatened with more if he did not give it up. No word from Tinieblas’ side.

NJPW officially announced Mistico among those working the NJPW/CMLL shows in January. His name was previously listed on the poster. CMLL hasn’t yet confirmed.

In an AAA interview, Super Fly explains he was a fan of Octagon growing up, but after he joined AAA, he realized tecnicos were mediocre, Octagon was living in the past, and he couldn’t trust anyone his own age. (And then he waited five years to turn!) Super Fly points out he won Super Calo’s mask and Aerostar & Laredo Kid won nothing, which is a fair point. “The differences between me and them are like between the moon and the sun.” Mi Lucha Libre wonders how happy the Stones are going to be to team with the guy who unmasked their brother.

AAA says they’ll start airing best of next weekend, all the way up to Rey de Reyes. That makes it sound like it’ll be three weeks of repeats. Still no word on the Chilpancingo taping. It’s either really soon or not at all.

Blue Demon died 10 years ago today. El Verdad de Lucha Libre has a story about meeting him.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Ras de Lona and KrisZ’s news update.

  1. You DID trick me into clicking on this headline thinking Tinieblas Jr. was headed to NJPW, even though I KNEW that made no sense.
