CMLL (FRI) 11/19 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Cesar]
1) Inquisidor & Tiger Kid b Astro Boy & Robin
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Skándalo b Ángel de Plata, Guerrero Maya Jr., Tigre Blanco
3) Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito b Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Último Dragoncito
4) Rush b Pólvora [lightning]
5) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Rotoporky DQ Averno, Mephisto, Taichi
6) Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero DQ Charly Manson, El Alebrije, Mr. Águila
Ultimo Guerrero managed to give Alebrije his front superplex, which is sort of amazing. Didn’t end up well for that team. With Negro and UG occupied, the rudos crotched Bucanero hard into the post, then went after a leg. Bucanero was beaten up on the outside, with the stairs being thrown on him for the DQ. Bucanero had to be stretchered to the back.
Mephisto seemed back to normal in the highlights from I saw. Normal means fouling Sombra on springboard to end the match. (Mephisto had powerbombed Sombra to win the first fall off a dragonrana attempt, but I guess he didn’t think he could do it twice.) Mephisto and Hijo del Fantasma (special guest commentator) exchanged words after the match. Mephisto accused Fantasma of injuring him (??? by taking a ‘rana ???) and Fantasma brought up the time Mephisto injured him. Maybe they’ll remember to do something with feud?
Rush won in 8:38 with his neck crank submission.
Pequeno Warrior snuck in a foul to get the pinfall over Electrico.
Ras de Lona said Negro Casas was the 10th member of Block B for Copa Junior. Also, Fuego, Angel de Oro, Delta, and La Mascara were teased as the choices for Mascara Dorada’s replacement in the national trios champions. In an Invasors interview segment (where Aguila was missing), Charly Manson stole the “we are the difference” line from Perros del Mal and they talked of plans for 2011. And voting for the best of 2010 should start soon.
Sombra talked his most recent NJPW tour. Interesting in that CMLL had footage of Team CMLL vs Lyger/Samurai (none of the matches made the web, so NJPW actually had to give them that footage) and there was a significant amount of talk about Davey Richards. Enough to make you think he could be stopping by Arena Mexico in 2011.
Cesar sides with Rob and thinks the winner of the Mascara Dorada replacement will not be a new trios champion. We’ll see.
CMLL’s Twitter announced RadioCMLL.com will start broadcasting on 12/03. Presumably, they’ll be broadcasting the show that night, but details are at a minimum.
LATV has added affiliates in Phoenix, Palm Springs, California and Oklahoma City. They seem like they’re up and running today, so you should be able to see the CMLL show tonight. No promises on it being a new one.

Lineups
CMLL (FRI) 11/26 Arena Mexico
1) Bengala & Metálico vs Durango Kid & Tiger Kid
2) Astral, Bam Bam, Último Dragoncito vs Eléctrico, Fantasy, Shockercito
3) Marcela vs Tiffany [lightning]
4) Delta, Diamante, Metro vs Cancerbero, Euforia, Raziel
5) La Sombra, Rush, Strong Man vs Misterioso II, Psicosis, Texano
6) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero vs Charly Manson, Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila
Very rare tecnico vs tecnico minis match. I’m sure we’ll see a mini rudo before the end of that one.
I hope Tiffany being in a singles match means Tiffany is healthy enough to be in a singles match.
Figure Misterioso is a sort of Terrible replacement, but that’s still an odd rudo side for the semimain.
No Dragon Rojo match! You can still go out for the bodybuilding contest, Dragon! (Time to change the excuse to “I have a tag title defense on Saturday and need to be in peak shape.”)

The rudo team for next Friday’s SemiFinal is just awesome & should be the new trios champions. Although it saddens me because the fact that Misterioso II is going to job to Rush. :( Because CMLL is mean like that.
The saddest part is you could hold up the poster with Psicosis teaming with Misterioso II/Texano right in front of Panico’s face as you ask him “why isn’t the invasion angle working?” and he’d say he has no idea.
Hey look – CMLL starts TV with Fantasma cutting a promo on Mephisto and indicating he hurt him as revenge for the injury earlier in the year. Maybe they are actually going somewhere with this.
Looks like mini’s, semi-main and main will air.
Actually Rush vs Polvora starts the show. And now that I think about it they said the mini’s were the semi-main event. So the semi-main from last night with Mephisto’s return probably isn’t airing. Maybe they are saving it up for the 12/4 show since they won’t air anything from 12/3.
Good showing by Rush. Would like to see him matched up with rudos of better quality than Polvora though as Rush still has a lot to learn and Polvora is pretty awful.
Peq Warrior completely exposed his face to the live crowd last night. He also has some thick hair going on so perhaps he’s going for an extra payday early next year.
Looks like semi-main will air so a 4 match show.
@Rob: I can not believe AAA hasn’t put up an article about Mini Psicosis losing his mask yet, complete with unmasked photo. It’s gotta be coming.
@thecubsfan: Good point. Maybe Mini Psicosis wins the belt on Monday and it goes from there.
Sangre Azteca gets to be the mystery luchador of the week. Still not allowed to work Friday night shows though.
I have a better quality version of Mogur vs As Charro than the one on CMLL TV right now. They should have asked me for a copy.
Crazy to see As Charro’s flying dropkick to the floor in 1987. From a guy who was about to retire due to not being able to walk any more.
Dorada hurt his ankle on a spot where Azteca was thrown into the air and he was supposed to power bomb him but his ankle gave out when he made the catch. Looks like he continued the match though. Noti CMLL says the reason he vacated the title was due to the injury. I guess defending the belts in the next 2 weeks was very important unlike other belts that go undefended for months or over a year at a time.
SemiFinal makes tv.
52MX has the expected matches.
Mr. Aguila is a “malandro” :S
Mini’s match and the Valiente match from 11/5 on LATV
Finally! They co-ordinated correctly!
NOOOOO the commercial interruptions are back :(
Man I feel bad for Bam Bam. He deserves to be with the big boys and is totally better than all these minis.
Astral’s Extreme tiger type botch was great. The crowd laughed at him then booed.
Only the first match’s opening fall got edited out – everything else went fine. Hopefully it’s better on the reair?
Opener on C3. I like how the first match on GDL is almost over before C3 even begins.
Yeah I thought C3 started at least 10 mins late today so figured no chance for the opener airing. Looks like we’re in for some really short mail-in matches.
@thecubsfan: Did the interruptions start happening when LATV left WGN and went to the other station in the market?
@LLL: Yep. It’s the new local affiliate that’s causing the problems.
@thecubsfan: Interesting. CMLL on LATV usually has a total running time(TRT) of 46:30 which is about 2:30 longer than the industry standard and eats into someone’s ad avails.
Sounds like the station is determined to run their share of ad time.
Is the ACM stream airing the local matches at 12:30 CT/1:30 EST? It doesn’t appear to be?
@Chris: I think they’re running late. It’s never really clear.
Just starting at 1:45 est with Androide/Bengali vs Simbolo/Golden Boy
The Bizarros video was very interesting. Good stuff.
Wrestling observer reporting that Solid from Lucha libre USA was killed last night.
@Albert: Doraville, GA. Another suburban phenomenon.
Rob is right about the ring intros missing from AAA. Especially in such a small venue like Naucalpan, where they don’t really take up much time like they do in a big venue.
Naucalpan looks good.
Zorro is in the best shape he’s been in in years.
@LLL: hows the wrestling on thye aaa show?
@CM93: I only saw the top two. The same as usual I guess.
@CM93: Illegal is pretty good.
