6) Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último GuerreroLa Máscara, La Sombra, Místico

Atlantis & Ultimo won clean over Mascara & Sombra. After the match, Dragon Rojo went after Mistico and tore off his mask. This feud seems like a poor idea for Dragon Rojo; starting to think perhaps the big Dragon Rojo push might be more about short term than long term.

Cibernetico came down to Aguila & Bucanero. Bucanero got Aguila with a Canadian Destroyer m for the apparent win, but Tirantes ruled the maneuver illegal piledriver and gave Aguila the win. Verbage is important: this was Tirantes finding a technicality to give his guy a win, not a change in how they’ll be ruling this move from now on. (And, for all purposes except the official result, the Invasors lost again.) Bucanero wants a hair match, but getting shut down.

Warrior stole Electrico’s mask to pin him, then challenged for a mask vs mask match. Not accepted.

Other stuff to watch: preview for Marco Corleone’s Highspots shoot video, coming out 11/16. I couldn’t exactly remember the incident he talks about, but I think I know who it was. (No spoilers.)

On this, Marco says he regrets going to AAA. On Cabana’s podcast, Rocky Romero says he regrets going to AAA (as much about going as he left.) On another one of Cabana’s podcasts, X-Pac says AAA didn’t live up to their promises and seems angry about the whole thing. Which seems like a trend; on the other hand, Koslov seems positive about the whole thing.

  1. Not surprised corleone and romero disappointed about aaa I wonder who else wish they can leave

  2. Hey Cubs…
What if Mistico is *really* on the CMLL shitlist, and perhaps, just perhaps, Dragon Rojo is being put in the mix as someone to possibly relieve him of that mask…

Volador is a more logical person for that slot, but it was just a thought….

  3. Oh boo hoo…All the American guys being upset that AAA screwed them over. Cry me a river. How many of the Mexicans got screwed over by AAA?

  4. CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUBSSSSSS!!!! Checked my guide and Teleformula lists lucha this week at 3 pm PDT. They’re back to calling it Lucha Mania as opposed to CMLL lucha on the guide.

I wish I could be giddy over there being 4 lucha shows to watch today, but I know Teleformula will fuck it up somehow and LATV will probably be repeat.

  5. @CM93: They should be bitching “A Mexican who can work should have been in my spot in the company, instead of shitty American workers that no one ever heard of.” Stupid gringos. ;)

  6. Well, Marco has more of a beef than most, as he *was* mega over and a top tier guy in CMLL. HE chose to leave for AAA based on promises that were broken. So, it is fair for him to bitch.

  7. Spoiler: didn’t actually watch the marco youtube, listened to it while reading another window

  8. Decent match if a bit sloppy at times. Cameras missed Angel De Oro’s 3rd dive while showing replays but they did air a replay of it (naturally). Euforia is so underrated and he really should be in Dragon Rojo’s spot right now but Euforia’s body doesn’t look like Dragon Rojo’s does so there you go.

  9. Tried his running rana from the ramp and Aguila botched the catch (or as Cesar says: “power bombed him”) so they just fast counted Dorada out. Really bad.

Summing up what “pro-Invasores ref” Tirantes did in this match:

    – Counted both Manson and Olimpico down for the three.
    – Disqualified Psicosis.
    – Forced Garza to stop cheating.
    – Caused Garza’s elimination.

Shouldn’t the ref who favors the Invasores make sure they have a 5 on 1 advantage at the end instead of playing it fair the entire match until the last possible moment?

Also, Babe Richard and Tigre Hispano were at ringside but did nothing to try and overrule the finish. Neither did Rambo.

I really hope Tirantes gets shaved and goes home in December.

  10. As Bucanero/Aguila are doing serious hair match challenges – announcers are having fun with Maximo trying to kiss them.

No fan of the week nonsense for second straight week. No Momentos either.

  11. Shanik aired as usual. I’m gonna let thecubsfan figure out when this show is on…if it is anyway. I’m not gonna bother believing the guide anymore.

  12. Okay here’s the fan of the week segment. Answering the trivia question from two weeks ago (Diamante).

  13. The history segment was actually fascinating this week! They talked with wrestlers booked on the 52nd Anniversary Show that never took place due to the earthquake. They called El Supremo vs El Dorado – “the mask match that never happened”.

  14. If Black Metal is the best novato they have out of all the guys who work the bottom matches… oh boy. He is terrible. I’m predicting we’ll find out he is related to someone with the way he’s being pushed though. It serves him no purpose to be on TV anywhere.

  15. Black Metal has to be one of the Brazos or Mascara Magica’s son. He almost killed himself doing a Frankensteiner.

  16. Seems like ACM gets shorter every week. 1:45 to 2:10 eastern this week. That match might have set a record for mailing it in though. I think Lluvia’s two promos lasted longer than the match. Sangre Chicana appeared in the second one.

  17. This message is relating to the Televisa CMLL episode:

Normally I hate those long drawn out commercials. I’m sure you are all familiar with the cell phone commercials. I actually enjoy those now that they play Lady Gaga. Seeing that commercial come on during the Hector Garza match was a great complament to each other. Seeing Hector Garza wrestle and then Lady Gaga sing. Best TV moment to date.

By the way when is Latin Lover going to wrestle in CMLL?

  18. I dunno Rob… That may have been the single most entertaining out of left field comment on this blog. Ever.

  19. Ok I don’t know why, but I’m watching AAA and being reminded why it’s a waste of time to watch it. But Lady Gaga’s cell phone commercial came on again. It has to be said: She is the sexiest woman on the planet. If you don’t beleive me then go to one of her concerrts and be in the first row like I was. She’s not just a 10 she’s a 12. I even made eye contact with her.

On another note, they just played another Heros del ring commercial and for a briefe second you can see an umasked La Parka kissing his mask.

  20. @CM93: I caught the end of the Fuerza Aerea/Militia match around 25 after the hour so I’m assuming the opener of the 10/31 taping got cut but maybe it started early and I’m wrong.
