CMLL (FRI) 10/01 Arena Mexico [SuperLuchas, Cesar, @cmllmagazine, Notimex]
1) Astro Boy & Metálico b Camorra & Semental
2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata b Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus
3) Shigeo Okumura b Diamante [lightning]
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada
5) Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Strong Man b Jushin Lyger, Terrible, Texano Jr.
6) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero b Charly Manson, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr.
Pesta Negra won the main event in straight falls. Invasors/Volador had the first fall won, but got DQed for excessive violence. Negro beat Charly with a casita in the second, despite Tirantes trying to block it. The Aguila/Bucanero challenge was dropped this week.
Not much of note the rest of the way. Okumura replaced Euforia, which probably had something to do with NJPW being here for this show. (They only sat in front of the crowd for the last three matches.) Strong Man beat Lyger to send him home a broken man. Strong Man is also done for the time being. Sombra was strechered out after his match after taking the deciding pin in his match.
Astro Boy had a bad night, failing on moves, repeating them, and failing again.
Ras de Lona talked to a lot of the teams in this weekend’s Arena Coliseo Tag Team Tournament. I think only Pegasso was MIA. Instead of highlgihts of their fighting, we saw Super Comando & Artillero salute in slow motion. Euforia & Nosferatu acknowledged this would not be their first shot, did not discuss why Nosferatu is not in los Cancerberos. I hope they lose in the first round. Show also had Tigre Hatorri saying (in English) that NJPW wrestlers were much better than CMLL. BOOOOOO.

Lineups
CMLL (FRI) 10/08 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Plata, Molotov vs Durango Kid, Escorpion, Nitro
2) Dark Angel, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Estrellita, Princesa Blanca, Tiffany
3) Rush vs Terrible [lightning]

Main event should be good, but a skippable week in terms of progression.
Taichi returns. Estrellita debuts. Fourth match is a Brazo team. Charly/Negro meet again. Rush/Terrible is a such an easy joke that I made it last night.

CMLL TV starts w/ lucha relampago.
Every highspot is to the side of the ring where the NJPW guys are sitting.
Maybe it’s for the best Tirantes just does his rudo shtick b/c he’s proving in this match that he has no idea how to do a straight three count.
Good match. Diamante is quickly passing the failure that is Delta and the stagnant Angel De Oro.
Preview says top three are still going to air.
Problem with watching CMLL TV (and the style in general): You can sit there for 20 minutes waiting for Mascara Dorada’s big one minute of highspots and end up getting a phone call that only lasts 45 seconds but you still miss everything he did in the match,
the breaks are so long!
So far every single highspot through 2 matches has been to the side where the NJPW guys are. A tad predictable.
Trios champs vs HdA was nothing anyone ever needs to see. Mail-in city.
Now that is one horny fan of the week.
Riano: Do you have anything else to say?
Fan: Mmm… kiss from an edecan?
Riano: *bursts out laughing*
52MX has the segunda, but no hint of the other match
Noti CMLL was everything from the press conference + announcing the GDL show on the 12th.
AAA on Galavision just put up a giant mosiac blur to obscure a scrolling message, which could not have drawn any more attention to it.
@thecubsfan: LOL at the basketball board visible right in the middle of the venue on AAA/Galavision. They really do need one venue to tape from.
And 52MX has the semifinal. Maybe they’re alternating the week.
second week in a row my cable system upgrades during AAA meaning the show and recording are both interrupted. I’ll have DirecTV in two weeks.
@LLL: what cable company do you have?
@CM93: Brighthouse. I call them “Darkhouse”.
You’re in Comcast territory.
@LLL: i had fios and swithced to directv this week both quite good
Relampago/Extreme Tiger vs Tigre Cota/Decnnis was good.
@thecubsfan: i found the militia vs. Laredo Kid,Pimpi and elegido match to be quite good
LATV has 08/27
1) Diamante & Sensei b Inquisidor & Mortiz
4) Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila, Texano Jr. b Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas *
That’s random. No minis match.
STRONGMAN promo on LATV. Nice
@thecubsfan: That IS quite random. Last week’s opener seemed more logical than this week’s.
Speaking of random… Ebola uses OFFSPRING – “PRETTY FLY FOR A WHITE GUY” as his entrance music. WIN.
Of course, there’s some completely different program on TeleFormula this week. Guy with an eye patch on the panel.
So why is Black Metal in all white and gold?
LATV wasn’t very good. What good is a Mortiz match without a Spanish Fly to the floor?
Because CMLL doesn’t have enough Mistico clones with generic movesets and zero charisma.
Ah no Rayos on Cadena Tres.
No opener for C3 this time around. Sorry Rayos Tapatios.
Also note that CMLL changed this Tuesday’s opener to a trios and added Robin and Mortiz. Pequeno Olimpico still a tecnico for no reason though.
Sombra/Aguila was a pretty decent match.
Posted some thoughts on the AAA game. Most of it discusses stuff Cubsfan already talked about, but it also features the REALLY BAD Konnan video I mentioned in the chat, plus me going insane by the time I finished talking about the achievements.

@tromataker: AAA having a video game I can’t play makes me feel so old. I have not owned a video game console in about 25 years. I think the last one I owned was Coleco and played Mr. DO. When I go on Facebook, and all my friends my age “like” Play Station and South Park, I realize I should have lived at home until age 45.
ACM opener is Enfermero/Medico Asesino vs Bulldog/Cavernerio. Not sticking around to see if there’s a second match.
Galavision running ads for AAA hyping specific matches.
@LLL I think when you see the reviews you’ll realize you’ve been spending money on better things.
@LLL – I’m the same way with videogames. Other than playing RockBand on occasion with my ex’s kids, I haven’t played video games since Double Dragon & Paperboy. I don’t feel I’m really missing anything…
AAA TV seems to have the expected 3 matches to finish up the last taping before Heroes Inmortales.
