So, yesterday, I asked where Bronco was. He was in the segunda all along. Always the last place you look.
DQ in tercera was for Skandalo fouling Angel de Oro, then pulled the mask for good measure. Tecnicos swept the match. Mendoza got the better of Panther in the semimain.
CMLL has a press conference on Thursday. We all know what this is about: stripping Stuka Jr. & Fuego of the Arena Coliseo Tag Team Championships for lack of defenses. Frankly, it’s about time (about time I got new jokes.) We know there’s a Pesta Negra vs Invasors hair match, we just don’t know who’s in.
AAA put up a partial lineup for Heroes Inmortales, and it’s just the matches we already knew. They’re still 1-3 matches short (and don’t include the 187 vs Damian/Halloween match set up this weekend ). The one clarified match is the AAA Originals vs Society cage match: La Parka Jr., Octagon, Heavy Metal, Cibernetico vs LA Park, Zorro, Hernandez, ???, with the idea that Cibernetico might actually be the mystery guy for La Sociedad.
AAA is also in the business of answering random asides on this blog (maybe), by explaining the power structure of AAA: Marisela > Joaquin > Dorian. No wonder La Parka Jr and Cibernetico are angry at Joaquin – couldn’t they just put a stop to his son, Konnan and the Legion?
The “La Masa from 100% Lucha is fired” story from yesterday is a storyline. Today, there’s an interview with lead tecnico Vicente Viloni, who thinks La Masa should be brought back for a match. They also have video of this interview, which has a sliver of video of La Masa walking around on the street (in mask and cape), having shoved a woman. In related news, 100% Lucha is celebrating it’s 200th episode next month with a Vincente Viloni vs La Masa main event.
I went thru last weekend’s show just to see this bit for myself, but didn’t see it. Maybe the international feed is on a one week delay or something?
Today’s Heroes del Ring bios: Nicho el Millionario, Psicosis (“Regarded by Lucha Libre experts as the fastest fighter in the sport”; Felino says no – also, Psi is so fast, one minute he’s here, another minute he’s in another company entirely), Vampiro (“El Vampiro is a master of defensive grappling which often renders his opponents unable to mount successful offensive attacks” – ohhhhh that explains it.)
- Arena Coliseo Monterrey features four apuesta matches this Sunday, no less than three including gimmicks which debuted last Sunday. Monterrey! I am so shocked they’re not drawing there.

One talks about the last person in the heavyweight tournament being unrevealed, so that person may want to watch the show with Mascara Purpura vs RJ Brewer it reruns. Another column is by rudo commentator Lalo. I link not to advise you to read, but to know such a thing exists.

CMLL (MON) 09/27 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano, Black Tiger, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Fuerza Chicana, Sauron, Siki Ozama Jr.
2) Bracito de Oro, Fantasy, Shockercito vs Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
3) Fabián el Gitano, Rush, Valiente vs Demus 3:16, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
4) Máscara Dorada, Místico, Toscano vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Volador Jr.
5) La Sombra vs Jushin Lyger [CMLL MIDDLE]
The simplest thing to do is to have Lyger lose on his way out. That’s what he did last year (to Ultimo Guerrero and Mistico), so CMLL mostly likely will have Lyger drop the singles title here in Puebla and lose to Dorada on Tuesday. This is one moment where I think CMLL might be moving too fast on things. If Lyger is coming back in ’11, and giving him the Universal Title means that’s the plan, then you might as well make those mountains a little harder to climb. You’re taking the risk that everything will work out the way you plan, but Mascara Dorada shouldn’t beat Lyger in their first singles match and Sombra’s done enough that he doesn’t need this win quite yet.

I gotta agree that having Liger leave with the title is the way to go.
Sombra can still win it,but wait til next time around to see if he really needs it,right now noone is really beating his momentum.
Dorada has a collection of belts and while a Dorada win here would be pretty big it would mean more if he lost and then worked to a win in the future.
Liger should head to the next Universal Tournament as the guy who won last year and left beating everyone and dancing while doing it.
