Poliforum Zamna, Merida, Yucatan, 07/04/2010 – I’m not positive if this was just not that interesting most of the way, or if I was just mentally tired by the time I got to this show and it was too easy to not pay attention to. Your mileage may vary, but these were three mostly meaningless
Billy Boy & Tigre Cota vs Laredo Kid & Súper Fly: This was good, the usual good, the usual good that’s not going anywhere but it was still nice to see them. The Super Fly/Laredo Kid break up skit was so tacked on, and was not really played up in this match. My wild theory is someone decided they really needed to turn a cruiserweight rudo, they turned Rocky, Rocky quit, they still wanted to turn someone, they forgot they blew off the Super Fly turn and decided to go with it finally, someone pointed out they’ve got a dozen guy like Decnnis, Billy, and Chris Stone (already doing a turn) who are actually cruiserweight, and then they forgot about the Super Fly turn again. Nowhere in here did anyone remember they turned Relampago at TripleMania (though the website promises me they’re getting to it.) This all makes AAA logic, you’ve got togive me that.
Fabi Apache, Mari Apache, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Alex Koslov, Christina Von Eerie, Jennifer Blake: This was better than last week, but – speaking of AAA storylines – let’s map this one out
1) women have a match where the loser is a maid
2) Mari loses!
3) Mari is a maid for a while
4) Mari is no longer a maid
5) things continue exactly as they had been, with no particular revenge being saught
Great story telling.
Damián 666, Halloween, Super Crazy vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Joe Lider, Nicho el Millionario: On one hand, it’s new guys and old story (rudos can’t win unless Konnan get involved (also, Konnan really was moving bad on these tapings, I can’t be the only one to notice)). But this was better than the other matches of this type. I didn’t get into it, and it feels like the first Perros team up in AAA should mean more than a random trios match, but it was still good.
La Parka vs LA Park: Not as good as TripleMania, but it wasn’t really going to ever be. The fans were split here, but it’s a lot better reaction for Parka than I feared back then; they have not abandoned him for winning (though, still, far more people tuned in for the first match than this one, and most of those people still think LA Park won the rights to the name.) Park got most of the match, Parka got the win with a fast count, it was the expected finish. Even though they did a whole bunch of run ins after the fact to distract, it’s clear they mean for this to be over for now, though they kind forgot to set up anything else for either of them to do.
