taped 06/06/10 in Palm Springs.
Not as many words this time, I promise.
The last episode ended with two big questions
1) who was this mysterious guy helping Lizmark Jr.?
2) was there some sort of alliance between Tinieblas, Neutronic, Lizmark Jr., and Hombre Sin Nombre?
The answers given
1) Sydistiko, which was mentioned in the first moments of the show as if it was not a mystery to be solved, and barely as if it was a mystery – they knew plenty about him later
2) who knows, it was never brought up.
The big question for next week: uh – people in the title tournament? Maybe? Definitely not named people in the matches. Maybe who attacked Super Nova, but the announcers were certain it was Rellik for reasons not clear to me.
Is RJ Brewer a joke because he lost his first match (after getting quite a bit more promo time than Magno) or he totally proven correct about the wrongness of lucha libre after loses in a finish that isn’t fair and wouldn’t work in US wrestler? Maybe both? I think I need to mention his mom here because I don’t think you’re allowed to go 30 seconds without referencing her.
I liked the Lizmark/Syd vs Nova/Manson tag match and thought Sydistiko was really good as his character. And Lujo’s dive in the other tag match was impressive.
obscure trivia answer which only exposes my complete geekiness: 181 pounds, Seattle, Washington was Brian Kendrick’s weight/hometown in WWE. Probably elsewhere too. I have no idea why I remember that.

I did love the extra touch of having “SB 1070” on the back of Brewer’s tights.
is Lujo Aaron Aguilara?
@kidzombie:
Yep.
I absolutely abhor John Walters, and didn’t really pay attention to that match at all, but I thought the finish was great.
i missed the first 2 eps but caught the 3rd one. nothing that blew my mind but i’ll give it another week to see how it goes. it still blows my mind why lucha promotors of any kind continue to do shows in areas that don’t have a high hispanic population. north carolina? just don’t make no sense at all.
North Carolina is one of (if not the) state with the fastest Hispanic growth in US.
Charlotte may be about 11% hispanic at this point.
Thats a large population (and a new population) in a small area where there aren’t a ton of things competing for hispanic dollar. El Paso may be 50% hispanic but there are a ton of entertainment options aimed at that dollar, and entertainment options with long histories.
@tomk: Some of those DMA’s like Atlanta, Raleigh, Greensboro and Charlotte have each seen between a 400% and 800% increase in Hispanic population over the last 20 years.
Most major bands, like Los Tigres del Norte, always stop there. And don’t forget the huge soccer game Charlotte hosted. http://www.wbtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=12196907
@LLL: btw- That soccer game did 60,000.
@tomk: @LLL: Numbers are numbers but from personal experience even though the Hispanic population may be there – they don’t come out to see wrestling for whatever reason.
@Rob: They will come out to see WWE.
Wherever I go, WWE’s audience is minorities and middle class whites. I was at the house show in Ft. Myers last night, and it was at least 30% or more Mexican. Tampa, same thing. MSG? Ditto.
I did attend one WWE house show at RBC Center in Raleigh in December 2007 and the Mexicans were out in full force. The Mexican radio station even had a van there.
If not for Mexicans, WWE house show business would be in worse shape.
Rob, were you at the Gary Juster Lucha shows in Raleigh and Atlanta? He did about 2,500 paid, which is not bad, but not enough to pay for such expensive venues.
I really want to see AAA run Atlanta and North Carolina, because they would do better than Juster did with Santo and LA Park.
Some things I dislike but some things I love like RJ Brewer, good heel character and is a good wrestler.
I love the cheesy promos, Konnan would hate it but I think it fit.
I don’t want to see Angle ex and Chi Chi on the screen that much. They getting too much tv time. Show would be better without Tygress(though she got a nice shape, just not pretty “BUTTAHEAD”),Chi Chi and Rellik have to go aka WCW trio.
While I notice people looking at MTV2 ratings, I thought MTVtres was important to this show?
How is ticket sales going?
