CMLL (SUN) 07/11 Arena Coliseo [@cmllmagazine]
1) Disturbio & Mortiz b Camaleón & Principe
2) La Comandante, Princesa Sujei, Yeska b Dalys la Caribeña, Lluvia, Luna Mágica
3) Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata, Fabián el Gitano b Maniaco, Monsther, Oriental
4) Blue Panther, Shocker, Super Porky DQ Atlantis, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
5) Héctor Garza, Terrible, Texano Jr. b La Máscara, La Sombra, Último Guerrero
6) Volador Jr. DQ Místico
Busy show! Every match had something to talk about.
The big news is Mr. Niebla was nowhere to be found. Those are also the chances of Mr. Niebla now main eventing the anniversary show. Terrible came on to the semimain, with Ultimo Guerrero moving over to the tecnico side (and not turning on his teammates) and Volador moving into Niebla’s spot. CMLL must’ve really have been concerned about letting down fans to do a surprise Volador Jr. vs Mistico match, because they could’ve gotten away with Mistico versus any one of those four rudos as a reasonable main event, and one that wouldn’t remind everyone of a storyline that’s on hold (at best.) It did sound like there was a strong turnout, which may have played a factor in over-delivering.
Tirantes was the referee for the main event. He was cheating heavily for Volador thru the match, including a fast count win in the first. Mistico came back with a backcracker in the second, but was DQed for pulling off Volador’s mask after several slow counts. Alexis also mentions Mistico appeared to have a foot injury. That’s going to make Monday night extra fun!
As mentioned, UG wrestled as a normal tecnico for his side. He was so dedicated to being a tecnico, he lost after Garza fouled him and pulled his mask. Maybe that’s too dedicated.
Tecnicos won the fourth in straight falls when Atlantis fouled Shocker.
Angels got some revenge for last week’s DQ win (I know), with Oro pulling off Monsther’s mask for the winning pinfall.
Yeska got a surprise pin on Lluvia to steal the second match. The rudas are getting those surprise pins on Sundays of late.
Mortiz showed off the Mortiz Driver for the win; said to be an inverted (front?) Skandalo Driver. Skandalo was hurt on a dive.

I’d make a prediction, but I want to hear who Paul el Pulpo is going with first.
Strong Man is in NJPW’s G1 Climax. Talk about putting people in situations that won’t be the best use of them. Don’t think this will go as well as Sombra in the NJPW Best of Super Juniors. (I guess arms heal quick?) Strong Man beating Giant Bernard is the equivalent of defeating Tiger Mask IV & Jushin Lyger for Sombra; a 1-6 record is fine for him if that’s the one.
Mesias returned to the ring, though mostly only as a special ref, on WWC’s Anniversary show.
Arena Neza seemed to fill up pretty well for the AAA show there this weekend. Maybe it’s just indy promotions who really need to stop running there.
Rudos de Neza has the second part of it’s video interview with Fabian el Gitano.
DJ Spectro has video of Miguel Linares talking about the new CMLL Legends interviews. What a great week to debut it, when maybe no one was watching.
Segunda Caida writes about three more Black Terry matches, from UWF and IWRG.
SuperLuchas #372 has Brock Lesnar on the cover, with this past week’s hair and mask losers. Inside, there’s an interview with Justicero, promoter of Coliseo Coacalco, who says he’s had to stop booking CMLL guys because the office is requiring all the booking to go thru them, and they cost too much that way. The lineup for next Sunday’s card includes Tony Rivera, who may be on the outside of CMLL.
IWRG (THU) 07/15 Arena Naucalpan
1) ? vs Comando Negro
2) Dinamic Black & Eragon vs Impostor & Magia Negra
3) Freelance, Hijo del Pantera, Miss Gaviota vs Eterno, Gringo Loco, Hijo del Signo
4) Masato Yoshino, Pantera, Veneno vs CIMA, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Nosawa
5) Crazy Boy, Electroshock, Extreme Tiger vs Dr. Cerebro, Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Pirata Morgan
IWRG Welterweight Champion CIMA and Yoshino, in the hemisphere for CHIKARA & Dragon Gate USA shows this weekend, seem to be stopping over in Naucalpan. NOSAWA is also around for the week; I assume someone’s booking him somewhere besides here, maybe something ICP related, but I dunno. In SuperLuchas, Nosawa says he’s working Verano de Escandalo.
CMLL (SUN) 07/18 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Thunder Boy & Tondar vs In Memoriam & Templario
2) Gallo & Neutrón vs Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
3) Delta & Rush vs Shigeo Okumura & Yoshihashi
4) La Sombra, Toscano, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
Sounds like they set up the Silueta vs Seuxis mask match for this show as well, but it’s not official until morning.
IWRG (SUN) 07/18 Arena Naucalpan
1) Super Halcon Jr. vs Comando Negro
2) Eragon & Hijo del Pantera vs Hijo del Signo & Magia Negra
3) Diva Salvaje, Miss Gaviota, Sexy Gladys vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
4) Hijo del Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000 vs Fuerza Guerrera, Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Hijo de Pirata Morgan
5) Billy Boy, Decnnis, El Brazo vs Pantera, Scorpio Jr., Veneno
METROSEXUALS vs GUAPO! The IWRG feud of 2008 that never actually happened! Where the heck is Zumbdio when you need him? (Maybe I shouldn’t ask that.) Anyway, the match should be twenty minutes of Guapito running from Scorpio Jr.
Billy Boy is another of the AAA guys who should plead for political asylum.
Lineup really does list two Mascara Ano 2000s. That does seem to be the next step in naming. (It’s probably Jr.)

Today, during CMLL on XEJ, they announced Mesias as wrestling next Sunday in a six-man, with LA Park vs. La Parka in the singles main.
I feel bad for Niebla. It would not surprise me to see photos on CMLL.com of a nearly packed Coliseo with him in the main vs. Mistico. That act is big time over.
I won’t vote until tomorrow, but I might stick with Histeria.
@LLL: I should clarify on Mesias, it was a local ad on the Cd. Juarez station hyping a local AAA house show.
I stuck with my Histeria pick.
Whoever picked Sombra to lose must have some really inside information such as he has a career-threatening injury and tomorrow is his last match ever or he’s becoming a monk and retiring after the match tomorrow.
I picked Olimpico to loose his mask.
i agree with Arnold. Oli is soooo stale
Atlantis -3% chance of losing, so basically the internet is saying not only will he not lose, he will ADD a mask to wear on top of his current one, then have to lose two Apuesta matches before he’s unmasked.
Sounds reasonable.
I picked Olimpico to lose his mask.
Volador Jr. is definitely officially turning rudo on Friday, costing him & La Sombra the tag titles.
Olimpico is stale, but CMLL uses him much higher on the card than Histeria, Oriental, or Alebrije. I would think CMLL would like to punish him and make him lose his mask at Arena Mexico. I just seem to remember bad blood there when he left CMLL.
@LLL: I don’t think they were thrilled with anyone who went to work with Perros del Mal, but they did let Ras de Lona interview him (not in Arena Mexico) to talk about leaving CMLL at the time.
I wonder if Ras de Lona just went into business for themselves on that interview. With all the hours of programming CMLL does, how much of their programming do they watch in production?
Who could be the female surprise Luchadora? Rossy Moreno, Estrellita, and Tiffany come to mind.
