2) Diamante, Molotov, Sensei DQ Durango Kid, Puma King, Tiger Kid
3) Mascarita Dorada b Pierrothito [lightning]
4) Máximo, Sagrado, Valiente b Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis, Yoshihashi

Attendance does not sound good – there was a lot of rain and some flooding due to Hurricane Alex. R de Rudo says 50% capacity, which would actually be a really big number for these shows lately. Maybe 50% of usual is what they mean.
Rudos took the first fall of the main event, tecnicos rallied in the second. Sombra & Volador were kicked out of the air going for flying moves, and Aguila & Garza pinned them for the win. No action teasing a Volador turn, but Aguila & Garza challenged for the tag team titles and will immediately get that shot.
Lyger & Avernos got the jump on Pesta Negra for one pin. In the second, Niebla had Lyger pinned, but one ref was distracted and Averno pulled out the other. Niebla got up to look around, and Lyger yanked his mask, fouled him, and covered him for the win.
Dorada won with 14 seconds left on the clock. It’s probably 9:46 of really good stuff, most of which won’t air.
Rudos ripped off Sensei’s mask to get DQed in straight falls.
Dos de Tres mentions AAA will be working with the PanAmerican Games, this October in Guadalajara. It may just be some smaller shows for out of towners to get a flavor of Mexico (and CMLL will likely do the same), but AAA usually goes to Guadalajara for one major show a year, and October is when the Pena Memorial show takes place. Might be tough to get a big enough building with that mini-olypmpics going on, though.
Ras de Lona didn’t have much news. They hyped up Infierno en el Ring, talking with all 12 of the wrestlers, including to Histeria about his busy week. The highlight video of Monsther included him blowing half of the moves, maybe they blew the highlight video. There was a long interview with Halcon Dorada – not four minutes, but I’d presume this is what they’re showing on the Sunday show.
Fuego en el Ring has interviews with Stuka Jr. (feuding with Okumura?), Angel de Oro (wants Puma King’s mask; if only there were tag belts for those teams to feud over), Hector Garza (about Hurricane Alex),
SuperLuchas points out Sombra’s match vs Tiger Mask IV has turned up on YouTube. It’s not on NJPW’s official site, so it may not last long.
El Hijo del Santo talks about going to Sough Africa to speak about recycling.
Impre has a profile of Chicago based luchador Silueta Azul, who’s putting his mask on the line next Sunday.
Kcidis previews Monday’s ruleta de la muerte by wondering what the best predictor going would point to.
DJ Spectro looks back at a mask match in Guadalajara in 1977.
Dos de Tres’s next edition has Zorro on the cover. No idea what he’s supposed to be wearing there.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.
Lineup
CMLL (FRI) 07/16 Arena Mexico
1) Metálico & Trueno vs Camorra & Semental
2) Diamante, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo
3) Dark Angel vs Marcela [lightning]
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Blue Panther, Místico, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs Jushin Lyger, Psicosis, Universo 2000
6) La Sombra & Volador Jr. vs Héctor Garza & Mr. Águila [CMLL TAG]
None of the guys in Infierno en el Ring are on this card. Interesting way to build for that.
On Ras de Lona, the main event was listed as Sombra, Volador, Mascara vs Garza, Aguila, Terrible. Hmmmm.

Unreal lineup. And we’ll see almost NONE OF IT! YAY!
Two of the best prelim wrestlers in the company (Trueno/Semental).
Nuevo Fuerza Aerea.
The two best women their first singles match since 2005.
The especial promises to be fantastic with those six.
Random semi-main that looks fascinating on paper and is clearly setting something up.
Title match main event that will probably feature Volador’s official turn and a title switch.
As I said… unreal lineup.
52MX has the expected. Teleformula is in an infomerical about menopause.
@thecubsfan: Going for a record this week. Ah, the Osuke commercial that always airs.
No Shocker! Hmmmm.
replacement: REY BUCANERO. This is a win.
Its difficult to get excited about this CMLL show given how Teleformula edits it to shreds for their precious infomercials.
Maybe 06/22, except it’s Mephisto and I have
AvernoEphesto listed?Which would mean Hector vs Shocker later, so that’s why no Shocker doing the announcing. He’s got to get ready for his match.
(also means they skipped a month.)
I guess showing the replay of the finish to the second fall is better than not showing them at all. Slightly.
LATV episode repeats the episode from 06/12
When did Guerrero Maya Jr. change his in ring gear. He looked pretty good in the first match on Cadena Tres. Liked his dive in the segunda caida.
Mistico should have just done the post-match promo with Dorada and Fantasma, not alone.
I am looking forward to next Friday’s lightning match. Given this is CMLL we are talking about, is there any chance Dark Angel/Marcela sets up a challenger to Princesa Sugei’s title or mask?
@J. Corzo Cubby: probably not, more because they’ve only rarely done stuff with the lightning matches in any sense, and it’s usually title match direct rematches. If anything, it might be the start of a ruda turn, since she’s a ruda in TNA and CMLL is crazy about those things.
One more week of Noche del Mundal. Just so everyone doesn’t thing me a complete goofball, it did eventually occur to me that the reason there’s no Arena Coliseo Monterrey shows right now might have a lot to do with the hurricane that hit Monterrey.
@thecubsfan: Coliseo Monterrey has not even updated their photos lately. Strange.
@J. Corzo Cubby: I’d like to see Awesome Kong do a run-in, splash Dark Angel, to set up those two in a hair match in the future, which I think would be awesome.
As Cubs says below, they do nothing with Lightning, when it really should be a springboard to feuds.
I figured as much about CMLL being unable or unwilling to do anything of value with the lightning matches. If this were anywhere else, you would actually have a proper build for feuds. Instead, Paco’s hat will determine at the last minute that a Ruleta de la Muerte will have Rayo Jr. win either Olimpico’s mask or Histeria’s at the Anniversary show, just for the hell of it.
That was a decent first fall. Is Sagrado improving?
Did the lightning match make TV?
It looks like New Japan does not want Lyger to appear on Televisa for some reason. Second week in a row they are going with the main event and the fourth match, skipping Lyger in the semi main.
Odd. A promo for Anniversary 77.
AAA starts with women. Not sure I’ll watch it through.
I was out watching Spain’s victory in honor of Jose Fernandez so what did CMLL air? Just the fourth and main event? No Lightning Match? How about AAA? 1/2 the Zapopan show or did they just edit out the mini’s and air everything else as I expected?
BTW, is it only my twitter that’s busted?
@Rob: I missed the first 25 minutes but I assume they aired the lightning match.
