2) Eragon & Super Halcon Jr. b Fishman Jr. & Hijo del Signo
3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco
4) Jack Evans, Laredo Kid, Súper Fly DRAW Dr. Cerebro, Freelance, Suicida
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan b Máscara Año 2000 Jr. & Veneno

No details on most of the matches.  Hijo de Pirata Morgan was wearing the UWF United States Heavyweight Championship belt he picked up this past Sunday in northern Mexico.

The AAA vs IWRG match, in video: Part 1, part 2, part 3. Dr. Cerebro pinned himself while pinning Jack, though both sides thought they won the match. For IWRG, drawing with AAA is a win. After, Cerebro and Jack had a shoving match backstage, broken up by Black Terry and El Brazo (as AAA official, not as a rudo.) Who’s the other camera crew taping this? And for where? Anyway, this should mean Cerebro/Jack next Thursday.

Oficials put down the Gringos in straight falls.

ESTO pitches tonight’s Arena Mexico show as a return to old groups. Mr. Aguila & Hector Garza, former Perros del Mal, are back together in the main event for the first time since Garza left that group (with Olimpico as the third wheel.) Volador & Sombra are portrayed as teaming for the first time since Dos Leyendas, which isn’t actually true but makes a good story.

CMLL announced they’ll be running a series of pieces on legends of the promotion. DJ Spectro has a story about it, including the full list of the 36 guys being featured. Four minute taped pieces will air each week on the Sunday Televisa show. This would be a great feature for Ras de Lona, but another four minutes on the main show going to something that’s not the matches of the week is lame. If this was the only four minutes they were using in this way, it’d be great, but they’ve gone far away from that.

AAA hypes Atomic Boy returning to TV and La Parka & Octagon teaming up.

Dueling video interviews: Estrellas del Ring interviews Dr. Cerebro, Espalada Planas interviews Black Terry. Same interviewer for both.

DJ Spectro looks back at Mil Mascaras vs Tinieblas, in 1972 and the Brazos vs the Intocables for the Trios titles in 1991.

  1. Interesting to see CMLL going into their vault. Maybe this means that Televisa is realizing that they need to run less commercials, or do away with Riano of the week and Tania Lickona. They did run long on CMLL on Sunday.

Can someone here watch Ras de Lona and post what episode aired today. I have to go to XFC at the Forum tonight. I can’t record b/c the cable system does not carry LATV, so the DVR is useless.

  2. LMAO

Bye bye Mascarita Dorada vs Pierrothito and all future Lightning Matches! From now on the CMLL weekly lucha times preview will read:

    Top 2, edited.

We’re back to 2003/early 2004! Remember when CMLL would have either 2 matches per episode (1 hour shows) or a JIP 3rd fall opener followed by two heavily edited top two matches.

I think I need to just shut up about CMLL TV. It works the opposite than the AAA deal. I complain about AAA not using Aero Star/Atomic Boy and voila… they both get put on the next taping. I complain about CMLL TV non-stop and voila… it’s cut down even more.

  3. @Rob: I remember that. It was a blessing for Pena when they went to an hour. AAA was able to hide their weaknesses by doing quicker one-fall matches.

CMLL was terrible. They never adapted. I’m hoping that the clips of legends replaces “fan of the week” and Lickona, instead of taking up more time. CMLL can not be that stupid, and they read the comments and ratings here too. I think we’ll be pleasantly surprsied.
