Mexico loses to Japan, CMLL, BOSJ

IWRG (THU) 06/03 Arena Naucalpan [@gladiatores]
1) Comando Negro b Keshin Black
2) Tokoa Nakagawa b Ayumi
3) Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco b Suicida, Trauma I, Trauma II
4) Bombero Infernal, Maldito Jr., Samot b Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
5) CIMA, Kenzo Suzuki, Nosawa, Tozawa b Gato Eveready, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Pantera, Veneno

Not only an all rudo night, but Mexico falls to Japan. IWRG is depressing, crushing promotion.

Previews of today’s Arena Mexico show: Notimex, Ovaciones, ESTO. No one cares about today’s Arena Mexico show; whatever they do will be build to Sunday’s show. The Ovaciones article that, thru the World Cup, CMLL will give free passes to anyone in a Team Mexico jersey.

Sombra won his match over Gedo in today’s Best of Super Junior match with what sounds like his rope flip moonsault, bringing him up to 2-1 and 4 points. NJPW’s YouTube channel has put up his last match in the tournament, versus Kota Ibushi.

La Parka Jr. just now realized he stands to gain absolutely nothing if he wins his match against LA Park. Probably should’ve figured that before signing the contract. Parka suggests, if he should lose, he’ll call himself something like “LA Parking” and just change his mask a little. It’s good no one is reading this interviews, they’re not helping.

Arturo Rivera was on a gossip show, showing footage of LA Park being slapped by Marisela Pena and throwing bottles at the crowd. Must not be a big deal if they’re showing it on other shows.

Todoluchas wonders who will be added to the AAA Hall of Fame at TripleMania. They’re adding someone to the AAA Hall of Fame at TripleMania? I haven’t seen that mentioned on the website or the TV show so far, but they didn’t add any one at Rey de Reyes so I’d believe this.

Marco Corleone promotes the first Masked Warrior taping on Sunday, says they have “the most athletic individuals in the world on our roster.” They do have Mascarita Dorada, I’m not sure I should argue this.

Dark Unicorn/Hailey Hatred has been suspended from wrestling in Monterrey for wrestling unmasked before she lost her mask. They didn’t realize this until she lost his mask?

IWRG says Dr. Wagner Jr. is coming in on Thursday.

Ultimo Guerrero signed autographs at Solar’s shop.

Nuevo Dia has an interview with local Nogales wrestler Xxtruendo.

Ras de Lona #100 has cake. I suspect tomorrow’s episode will be all 6/6 build up as well, but maybe from the Invasors side.

LuchaWorld has Slammin’ Stan #34.

AAA’s matches @ E3

AAA’s lineup for E3 was announced yesterday

AAA Slang (TUE) 06/15 E3, Los Angeles
1) Aerostar, Laredo Kid, Súper Fly vs Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
2) Mascarita Sagrada & Octagoncito vs Mini Abismo Negro & Mini Charly Manson
3) Aerostar, Laredo Kid, Súper Fly vs Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown

AAA Slang (WED) 06/16 E3, Los Angeles
1) Mascarita Sagrada & Octagoncito vs Mini Abismo Negro & Mini Charly Manson
2) Aerostar, Laredo Kid, Súper Fly vs Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
3) Mascarita Sagrada & Octagoncito vs Mini Abismo Negro & Mini Charly Manson

AAA Slang (THU) 06/17 E3, Los Angeles
1) Aerostar, Laredo Kid, Súper Fly vs Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
2) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Silver King vs El Elegido & La Parka Jr.

Matches are at 1/3/5 on Tuesday, 12/2/4 on Wednesday, and 11/1 on Thursday, followed by autograph sessions directly after. They’re advertising Dr. Wagner as “#1 ranked luchador in the world.” Poor Electroshock. I guess that may be fixed by E3. If Wagner’s team wins, he’s on the cover, and Parka is the cover if he wins. (Parka is going to win.)

Monster Clown is listed as “Munster”. All famous lucha libre stars here. Matches should be good, though I wonder how they’re going to do two Air Force vs Psycho Circus matches when Super Fly inevitably hurts himself in the first match.

Perros del Mal to appear on TripleMania

AAA press release
Perros del Mal press release

The Perros del Mal press release states they will not be doing an Invasion and they will not be coming part of AAA. If we take them at their word, that would just leave the Perros del Mal doing their own match somewhere on the card, and that seems the least of all options. IWRG was smart enough to get themselves treated as equals to AAA, it’d be absurd for the Perros to come in with a match the same importance as the cruiserweight trios. I don’t believe Los Perros.

The Perros explain they can not do an invasion or integrate because they have completely different styles. I guess that’s true. One promotion keeps the same guys on top on every show, builds matches around heel referees and no rules matches (except until the finish, when there are suddenly disqualifications) and has a heavyweight champion no one actually believes is the best guy in the promotion. And the other promotion has X-Fly as champion.

Besides the big questions of who the Perros will work with, there’s also the question of where this leaves Charly Manson., who walked out of a scheduled hair match in AAA last year. If the Perros del Mal continue to run elsewhere, Charly could just keep working those shows, but he probably would have trouble returning to AAA. It’d guess only the top guys are showing up at TripleMania, and the talk about keeping the promotion going is as much to avoid the rest of the crew from freaking out as much as a statement to the fans.

More details are supposed to come today, but we probably won’t know what we need to know (what these guys will actually be doing in AAA) until Sunday night.

Cassandro, Terrible, Maximo/Taichi, lineups

R de Rudo has a interview with Cassandro. They talk about a recent documentary about his life (not sure where to get it), and Cassandro says he’ll be cleared to start physical therapy today. There’s a benefit show on the 20th in Arena Azteca Budokan.

Terrible says he’s feeling estranged from the Hijos del Averno and would like the idea of he and Texano forming a trio with Hector Garza, because they’d be like a natural disaster. (Bonus: Naito mocking picture.) Mephisto dares Hector Garza to call him a “lagartiija” to his face, and says Terrible & Texano are old enough to decide who they want to team with on their own. This quite the “all the tecnicos still don’t trust Mistico” angle for CMLL rudos.

Maximo tells Record that even though he lost his hair twice in 2009, he’s won 16 important hairs, including “Rambo, Loco Max, Emilio Charles Jr., Mr. Power.” Mr. Power is not important! (Also, 16?) The actual news is Mr. Niebla is returning from his “knee problems” real soon, which is good because it didn’t seem a sure thing Mr. Niebla was ever going to return. Maximo would be willing to join the rudos to keep his team with Niebla going. Meanwhile, Taichi vows not to disappiont all his fans.

There’s another interview with Taichi in Ovaciones, talking about his ten day long feud with Maximo, but the other news article about the Invasors is a little more interesting. Alebrije gets in a shot on Shocker, confusing him for Super Porky, but the point of interest is the list of invaders: “Monsther, Psicosis, Histeria, Maniaco, Mr. Aguila, and Tirantes”. This group has been very diluted by the inclusion of the Dinamitas (and to a lesser extent, Garza, who’s not really invading anything) and maybe Alebrije or someone in charge of this concept agrees.

The inclusion of Tirantes in the group has upset some. Near Arena Mexico, where posters are up to hype Sunday’s lineup, someone (or someones) has been posting angry messages, upset that CMLL would allow such a referee in their matches. That person should probably ask someone about Gran Davis.

Extreme Tiger says he does not know anything about Nosawa & Christopher Daniels. Extreme Tiger faced Christopher Daniels in a trios match a month ago. Must’ve not been that memorable! (Also, I don’t believe this for a second. Joe Lider must’ve introduced him to YouTube at some point.)

Mistico thinks Mexico needs to beat South Africa in the opening game and France will be the toughest group opponents, but refuses to give a prediction about how far they’re going in the World Cup.

MTV3’s blog talks about Masked Warriors for the first time, mentioning the July 17 start date.

Lots of talk about yesterday’s WON mention of Vampiro being kidnapped in Michocan. A blog has more details about the kidnapping incident. People on message boards seem to be concerned it’s an AAA angle. It’s not, but it does say something about AAA angles where they’d believe this could be one. (The last kidnapping angle went well for everyone!)

Perros del Mal is looking for feedback on their TV show. When it should air, not what will air.

Pancracio has a report an outdoor show in Puebla, featuring some of the Arena Puebla regulars. Apparently, Tiger Rojo has a school and is running these shows so the kids get some experience.

El Hijo del Santo wants to be paid more money. Good luck on that.

Been a while since I posted a link to a Cholita story; this one has video.

GALLI has their third anniversary show this Sunday. Slightly inconvenient for me, though if they really finish by 8 pm, I probably wouldn’t miss more than one TripleMania match. If you don’t care about reading text results/search the internet for streams, you should check it out.

DJ Spectro has his first part of forgotten arenas (though I’m not sure El Toreo is really forgotten) and stepping into Arena Mexico’s ring.

Rob reviews October ’09 lucha.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update, including an interesting Ultimo Guerrero interview.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 06/08 Arena Mexico
1) Rayo Tapatío II & Robin vs Cholo & Semental
2) Dalys la Caribeña, Lluvia, Luna Mágica vs Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sujei, Yeska
3) Ángel Azteca Jr., Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo
4) Blue Panther, Sagrado, Toscano vs Pólvora, Terrible, Texano
5) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero

Polvora isn’t quite Hector Garza. Ephesto & Bucanero get their best teams to face off, leading into a certain title match.

CMLL (TUE) 06/08 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Meteoro vs Johnny Dinamo
2) El Divino & Leo vs Ángel del Mal & In Memoriam
3) Neutrón & Palacio Negro vs Ráfaga & Rey Trueno
4) Delta, Metal Blanco, Rush vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) Brazo de Plata & Shocker vs Gigante Bernard & Héctor Garza

There’s so much strange about Sunday’s main event, we haven’t given enough specific attention to the concept of Super Porky versus Gigante Bernard. That’s a shame.

Pancracio (FRI) 07/23 Centro Banamex
1) Baby Perez, Reyden, Zicario vs Calle 13, Espiral Negro, Golden Bull
2) Lola Gonzalez vs ? [lightning, exhibition]
3) Enrique Vera, Hijo de Kato Kung Lee, Nuevo Kato Kung Lee, Villano IV vs Coco Amarillo, Coco Azul, Coco Rojo, Coco Verde
4) El Mimo & Loockman vs Ojo Diabolico Jr. & Super Halcon Jr. [Relevos Increíbles, mask]

The online lucha magazine’s annual show at the lucha libre expo.

06/05-06 Lucha Times

box

Firmly in the “it figures” category: MexicoTV doesn’t have LuchaMania on it’s schedule anymore. Not sure if it’s a one week thing or if they’ve just finished airing it, but I’d guess the latter.

AAA-US: Electroshock/Wagner in a cage, Minis trios, Silver King/UG vs Lider/Nicho

52MX: should be the cibernetico and the opening tag, but it’s been a great while since an opening tag has aired here.

LATV: if this is the week they feel like showing a new episode, we try again with the minis match and Poder Virus vs Fuego/Sagrado/Stuka

IWRG: a rerun!

—–

CMLL: On Sunday until you hear different. Top 3, heavy build up to the Sunday show going on a couple hours later.

AAA-MEX: Torreon taping, with a tag title match, an arrest, and a main event with no particular finish. (And probably some hype for the PPV an hour later.)

CMLL-FOX: Minis match, Maximo/Taichi

C3: Volador/Atlantis, Olimpico’s return.

Puebla: Garza/Mistico vs StrongMan/Volador

ACM: matches from Sunday? Not quite sure.

PdM: not sure what aired last week, but guessing more Tijuana.

CMLL-TFN: the first part of the CMLL Universal tournament, plus Dos/No Limit vs Garza, Shocker, Volador.

2010 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#943)
Mexico: 06/27, 07/04 (six matches = 2 weeks of TV)
US: 07/10, 07/17

This is not the first post-TripleMania taping, there’s a taping in SLP on Wednesday.

Nagashima was previously in 2006 and 2008, though with different women then. She’s a foreigner, so a ruda by default here, so that match makes absolutely no sense for Fabi Apache. Maybe she’ll be forced to be in because of the maid stip by then. (This would be week 2 or 3 of 4 on that.) Von Eerie is back; I hope Rain just has better things to do because she’s the one they should’ve kept around.

Stones as tecnicos mean it was Elegido who was turning rudo on Monday? Or maybe that’s just not going anywhere?

Maniacos in the fourth match mean Electroshock isn’t coming out of TripleMania with the belt? Or they just continue to put that tile below the main AAA vs Legion feud?

Mystery person will probably end up being Kenzo or something, but it is interesting that Mesias should be back by then (actually, he should be back in time for a run-in at TripleMania) and he’s nowhere to be seen here. Then again, Vampiro isn’t either.

Park isn’t Parka here, so (I guess that can change, but, really no.)
