R de Rudo has a interview with Cassandro. They talk about a recent documentary about his life (not sure where to get it), and Cassandro says he’ll be cleared to start physical therapy today. There’s a benefit show on the 20th in Arena Azteca Budokan.
Terrible says he’s feeling estranged from the Hijos del Averno and would like the idea of he and Texano forming a trio with Hector Garza, because they’d be like a natural disaster. (Bonus: Naito mocking picture.) Mephisto dares Hector Garza to call him a “lagartiija” to his face, and says Terrible & Texano are old enough to decide who they want to team with on their own. This quite the “all the tecnicos still don’t trust Mistico” angle for CMLL rudos.
Maximo tells Record that even though he lost his hair twice in 2009, he’s won 16 important hairs, including “Rambo, Loco Max, Emilio Charles Jr., Mr. Power.” Mr. Power is not important! (Also, 16?) The actual news is Mr. Niebla is returning from his “knee problems” real soon, which is good because it didn’t seem a sure thing Mr. Niebla was ever going to return. Maximo would be willing to join the rudos to keep his team with Niebla going. Meanwhile, Taichi vows not to disappiont all his fans.
There’s another interview with Taichi in Ovaciones, talking about his ten day long feud with Maximo, but the other news article about the Invasors is a little more interesting. Alebrije gets in a shot on Shocker, confusing him for Super Porky, but the point of interest is the list of invaders: “Monsther, Psicosis, Histeria, Maniaco, Mr. Aguila, and Tirantes”. This group has been very diluted by the inclusion of the Dinamitas (and to a lesser extent, Garza, who’s not really invading anything) and maybe Alebrije or someone in charge of this concept agrees.
The inclusion of Tirantes in the group has upset some. Near Arena Mexico, where posters are up to hype Sunday’s lineup, someone (or someones) has been posting angry messages, upset that CMLL would allow such a referee in their matches. That person should probably ask someone about Gran Davis.
Extreme Tiger says he does not know anything about Nosawa & Christopher Daniels. Extreme Tiger faced Christopher Daniels in a trios match a month ago. Must’ve not been that memorable! (Also, I don’t believe this for a second. Joe Lider must’ve introduced him to YouTube at some point.)
Mistico thinks Mexico needs to beat South Africa in the opening game and France will be the toughest group opponents, but refuses to give a prediction about how far they’re going in the World Cup.
MTV3’s blog talks about Masked Warriors for the first time, mentioning the July 17 start date.
Lots of talk about yesterday’s WON mention of Vampiro being kidnapped in Michocan. A blog has more details about the kidnapping incident. People on message boards seem to be concerned it’s an AAA angle. It’s not, but it does say something about AAA angles where they’d believe this could be one. (The last kidnapping angle went well for everyone!)
Perros del Mal is looking for feedback on their TV show. When it should air, not what will air.
Pancracio has a report an outdoor show in Puebla, featuring some of the Arena Puebla regulars. Apparently, Tiger Rojo has a school and is running these shows so the kids get some experience.
El Hijo del Santo wants to be paid more money. Good luck on that.
Been a while since I posted a link to a Cholita story; this one has video.
GALLI has their third anniversary show this Sunday. Slightly inconvenient for me, though if they really finish by 8 pm, I probably wouldn’t miss more than one TripleMania match. If you don’t care about reading text results/search the internet for streams, you should check it out.
DJ Spectro has his first part of forgotten arenas (though I’m not sure El Toreo is really forgotten) and stepping into Arena Mexico’s ring.
Rob reviews October ’09 lucha.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update, including an interesting Ultimo Guerrero interview.
Lineups

4) Blue Panther, Sagrado, Toscano vs Pólvora, Terrible, Texano

There’s so much strange about Sunday’s main event, we haven’t given enough specific attention to the concept of Super Porky versus Gigante Bernard. That’s a shame.
