IWRG (SUN) 06/13 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), The Gladiatores, Al Filo del Ring]
1) Guizmo b Halcon 2000
2) Comando Negro & Magia Negra b Alan Extreme & Fly Star
3) Eragon, Freelance, Jack b Hijo del Signo, Nemesis AAA, Trauma II
4) Máscara Año 2000 Jr. & Trauma I DQ Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan
5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown DQ Hijo del Cien Caras, Scorpio Jr., Tinieblas Jr.
Match came down to one of the clowns and Tinieblas Junior. The clown fouled Tinieblas, but Tinieblas pulled off his mask as he fell down. Referee took a look at both men, and awarded the match to the clowns.
Pirata Morgan was using some sort of chain or rope in the third fall of his match, so Hijo de Cien Caras ran out to grab it from him and use it on him. He got caught for the DQ.
The Nemesis in the third match appears to be AAA Nemesis (the ex-Javi, who was also Gato Eveready early on), not the IWRG Nemesis. Both confusing and random! Jack got Trauma II in a submission for the win, which seems like an upset. Fans liked the match.
CMLL (MON) 06/14 Arena Puebla [R de Rudo]
1) Black Tiger, Blue Center, SWAT b Barbaro I, Centauro de Fuego, Policeman
2) Molotov, Sensei, Starman b Bronco, Durango Kid, Mortiz
3) Princesa Sujei b Lady Apache [PWR WOMEN]
4) Brazo de Plata, Sagrado, Toscano b Terrible, Texano Jr., Vangelis
5) Atlantis, Negro Casas, Universo 2000 DQ Blue Panther, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Volador Jr.
New champion! Lady Apache took the first fall and seemed on path a straight fall win when Sujei pulled off surprise fujiwara armbar to steal the second fall. Sujei’s been doing that a lot lately. Sujei blocked a move on the top rope and landed on of her own to take the match. Always a surprise to see someone else’s title change hands in Mexico.
This is Sujei’s biggest title win, no offense to the LLF championships. It may be her biggest win ever, depending on how you feel about her mask match with Goddess. (Beating Dark Angel for her mask wasn’t a big deal at the time.)
Universo faked a foul from Rayo to draw the DQ, and they c0ntinued the mask vs hair challenge they’ve done everywhere. More on Rayo later on, but that Rayo vs Universo mask vs hair match has to be considered an actual possibility for the Anniversary show, or for some time later in the year.
Eight days after TripleMania, La Parka Jr. did his first interview (sent to all the websites; this is R de Rudo’s version). La Parka agrees with the decision to throw out the match, saying the result shouldn’t count because of the martinete and the Perros interference. He seems happy with the match just not counting, though usually those sort of things would mean he’d win by disqualification. Parka comes off as a defensive – the doubters thought he’d be beat all match but he held his own, the media don’t give him enough credit, the fans might have been split but there will be plenty of places where everyone will just cheer him.
It’s really surprising it took this long for AAA to get Parka Jr. in front of the press. From AAA’s standpoint, this match and this feud should’ve been about him proving he was the true Parka. Instead, he became the fourth or fifth most important character in the match (behind LA Park, Los Perros, Dorian, and maybe Joaquin), nearly forgotten. When people start to think about him again, he’ll be the guy who looked like the loser on Sunday night and was only saved by an unusual outside force – a martinete on a chair and run ins are far more common than the commission overturning a finish. And that’s just for the people who are aware of the angles after the show; most people probably believe LA Park won, and don’t know the circumstances or the finish being overturned.
It’s not just that they’ve put Park in a very favorable position, it’s that AAA might have damaged the fan’s perception of Parka Jr. in the process. It’s something to watch for over this week’s tapings, at least. It’s probably a really good idea to keep the two Parka’s apart for now; forcing people to choose again between the two might go just like all those matches last year where the fans cheered rudo Wagner over lead tecnico Mesias.
While in Torreon, Volador said he was ready to face Mistico in a mask match if CMLL would sign it, and said that just because Sombra went to Japan, that doesn’t mean he’s better than Volador. A clear breakup coming there, hopefully they’ll get the tag team titles off of them first. Also, Ultimo Guerrero says Hijo de Ultimo Guerrero is two years away from debuting.
On Fuego en el Ring, Universo 2000 says he still feels good enough to face any opponent, and has been training young wrestlers. Also, Rayo de Jalisco says he was promised a shot at Ultimo Guerrero and the CMLL Heavyweight Championship for returning, and is confused why his good friend Atlantis is on the rudo side. Rayo seems to have not watched or paid any attention to CMLL since he left five years ago; this seems very believable.
Heroes en el Ring (AAA video game) has been updated, but it seems like they’re waiting for the cover announcement for the big update. Still, the about the game page says 30 wrestlers; 30 AAA guys + 1 boss character gets you to the 31 I had heard earlier. I’m hoping we nail down the last couple people this week.

DJ Spectro looks back at Rocky Star & Cinta de Oro, and also has a post on Secrets of Pro Wrestling Revealed, a recent Slammin’ Stan topic.
Attendance seemed to be up at Tiger Rojo’s second show with the Puebla guys. Main event was a bloody battle between Tiger Rojos and Toro Bill Jr., far more bloody than they’d be in Arena Puebla.

At least they’re not dragging it out? Or maybe it’s just because the AAA taping is in the neighborhood and they think this will draw against it.
Also, Rayo de Jalisco replaces Volador on Friday. After Sin Salida drew so well, we’re going to be seeing a lot more of Rayo.
