Wagner IWRG, Viva La Lucha, links

IWRG (THU) 06/10 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring]
1) Tonatiuh b Imperial
2) Eterno & Hijo del Signo b Imposible & Silver Boy
3) Suicida, Trauma I, Trauma II b Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco [super libre]
4) Bombero Infernal DQ Dr. Cerebro
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Hijo del Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000 Jr. b Espíritu, Silver King, Último Gladiador

Normal Wagner indy match (he and Silver Kain took a tour of the stadium in the second fall.) Wagner won clean in the third.

Cerebro was caught with a chain for the DQ. This happens a lot to Cerebro.

Gringos bled and lost, though Trauma I appeared to have his feet on the ropes while pinning Diablo. Hijo del Signo pinned Impossble in the second also with his feet on the ropes, and Impossible was injured in the match.

Arena Mexico previews: ESTO, Ovaciones – this is Gigante Bernard’s last match in the building, at least for his trip, so Strong Man has to beat him tonight if at all. Bernard still hasn’t lost a fall.

I don’t think Valiente is losing his title to Virus, but it’s at least a possibility.

Sombra lost to Prince Devitt in today’s BOSJ match. If Sombra beats or ties Jushin Liger tomorrow, Liger is out.

Masked Republic will give a Hijo de Rey Misterio mask to anyone who buys the first 3 Viva La Lucha Pay Per Views.

The first PPV is tonight – not only I am having to pay for a HD cable box for the month just to order this (and had to call Comcast to get it to actually work), they said they were raising the rates on the cable cards I already had just for asking for a HD cable box. This show is $20 but may end up costing me $50. Totally Comcast’s fault but annoying. I don’t think I’m doing a recap because I’m not recording the show, but I’ll have a post on at some point.

R de Rudo talks to Octagoncito about winning the AAA minis title. Krudemmon saying the TLC match “will be remembers for centuries” is the greatest overstatement of the day.

Dhani Jones’ trip to IWRG debuts this Monday at 10 pm on Travel Channel.

Blue Demon Jr. wants to star in a movie. Good luck on that.

Cronicas Y Leyendas looks back to Canek & Mil Mascaras teaming for the first time.

Segunda Caida reviews 02/14/10 IWRG.

Ras de Lona 101 has Magadan asking Gigante Bernard and Strong Man weird questions.

LuchaWorld has video of Mil Mascaras & Hijo del Santo vs Blue Panther & Arkangel from All Japan.

  1. Despues de mucho tiempo Teleformula grabo!! quien sabe cuando transmitan esta lucha.

Una nota extra, tal vez en un futuro se enfrentaran Escuela Apache vs Escuela IWRG…

  2. Shame on you, cubs! Blue Panther, not Blue Demon Jr.!

I’m ordering the PPV, but I don’t want Hijo de Rey Misterio!:) Masked Republic can keep him. Should be an interesting PPV and given the recent changes for a lot of those guys, I really wonder what happens beyond this PPV. Mr. Aguila probably is no longer available, which really hurts them when it comes to name value for American fans. Don’t know about the Perros Del Mal or L.A. Park since you need to understand Konnanese to figure out if they’re under contract to AAA.

  3. @Alfredo: My guess is, for the next show, they end up taping stuff from Blue Demon’s NWA show and Los Perros show at the Lucha Libre Expo. After that, who knows.

  4. Maybe Teleformula wanted it because Wagner was on?

Also, is there a list on the luchawiki or somewhere of guys that Apache has trained/is training?

  5. Sorry Cubs about all the drama to order the PPV. We’ll make it up to the main board folks here and give you guys the DVD and BluRay as comps when they come out (not for quite some time still, but they’ll have some fun bonus stuff).

There will actually be a PPV put together before the Lucha Expo tapings, but PPV 3 will in fact be primarily footage from the Demon and Perros shows at the Expo. Quite astute.

We’re really working to please a number of audiences here, so I don’t expect everyone to love everything about the PPV, but I do believe it is a very solid effort and a great first step for us. I am genuinely looking forward to reading people’s feedback.

  6. I’m looking forward to seeing the PPV; I even avoided spoilers for it so I don’t know what’s going to happen. I loved watching lucha back when I was in Canada and got it on TLN a couple years back; and being able to understand the announcers will probably make it much more fun :)

  7. I would hope Giant Bernard does not lose and the feud continues.

No VivaLaLucha PPV for me. Maybe I’ll catch one of the replays listed on inDemand.com

  8. Somebody better cap that goddamn PPV because I can’t order it, and I want to see it before the DVD comes out and I can’t find it anywhere so I have to buy it offline.

  9. I’m actually NOT ordering the PPV just so I don’t get the free Hijo De Rey Misterio. I have no room to store such a huge waste of space.

  10. That was a joke BTW. I’m guessing you forgot the word ‘mask’ in the update.

I would order the PPV if it were available to me. Turbo vs Black Thunder = must-buy event.

  11. Oh look at that – I do get it. And in HD too.

Now just gotta figure out if I can record a PPV I buy.
