3) Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
4) Black Terry, Chico Che, Jack b Cerebro Negro, Maldito Jr., Samot
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Universo 2000 b Pantera, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Scorpio Jr.

Universo ran in Arena Mexico, then made it over here to win the main event, pinning Rayo after Mascara Jr. snuck back in to foul him.

Cerebro Negro & his partners did not get along. Black Terry saved his old partner after the match.

CMLL (MON) 05/03 Arena Puebla [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Karisma & Mr. Rafaga b Black Tiger & Blue Center
2) Leono, Starman, Tony Rivera b Disturbio, Mortiz, Semental
3) La Comandante, La Seductora, Princesa Blanca b Estrella Mágica, Lluvia, Luna Mágica
4) Blue Panther, Sagrado, Valiente b Dragón Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) El Alebrije, Histeria, Psicosis DQ Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra, Shocker

In the third fall, Psicosis went to foul Fantasma, Fantasma avoided him, and Psicosis yanked his mask off anyway. Fantasma challenged Psicosis to a singles match next week, wanting to expel the invaders from CMLL. No sign of the Dinamitas.

ESTO looks forward to more Mistico vs Volador in today’s Arena Mexico main event. It’s technically relevos main event with Garza/UG/Mistico vs Volador/Sombra/Felino, but if Felino is willing to get along with his partners, it’s easily rudos vs tecnicos.

A poster on Box Y Lucha says the Perros SLP show drew 30% capacity, and the promoter lost 200,000 Mexican pesos ($16,104USD) on the show. Pictures from Tijuana look 50% full or less. There doesn’t seem to be a turnaround here, and I’d bet they’re not going back to these places with the same promoters.

Despite losing again (clean), Dragon Rojo Jr. vows not to give up feuding with Mascara Dorada. Mascara Dorada would like to have a mask match vs Dragon Rojo, but Dragon Rojo isn’t answering. (Well, duh, you keep beating him.) Sangre Azteca went on a photo shoot.

AAA and SuperLuchas announced Nicho & Lider vs Sabu & Super Crazy for the Lucha Fan Fest at the end of the month.

AAA has a video bit up with Nikia, Dorian Roldan’s new secretary. Looks like she’s the same person as the Nikkia who worked Rey Bucanero’s club shows but never made it onto CMLL TV.

DJ Spectro says Estrellita has been dealing with personal issues and may resurface with a different company.

Galactar lost his mask in Monterrey.

PWInsider says the MTV2/Marco Corleone show will tape shows in Las Vegas, on 05/29 and 05/30 and will not air until Spring. Differnet location, and a lot later air date than I had heard previously. The article also mentions MTV had talked to AAA, but changed their mind after an AAA pilot tested badly. I want to know what they actually said about the AAA show, but I got to to figure it’s the same stuff we would say.

Liger defeats Casas, Perros in Tijuana, Dorada retains

Earlier today, Jushin Liger defeated Negro Casas to win the CMLL Middleweight Championship. Liger is the 16th champion. Liger will probably coming to Mexico to defend sometime this year.

PdM (SAT) 05/01 Plaza de Toros La Monumental Tijuana [d3v1lb0y @ box y lucha]

5) Blue Demon Jr. & el Hijo del Perro Aguayo b El Hijo Del Santo & LA Park
6) Halloween L Súper Nova, Damián 666, Hijo del Lizmark, Hijo de LA Park, Groon XXX, Oriental [cage, hair]

Halloween and X-Fly having issues on this show seems to not have carried over to DF. Santo was noted as working thru a shoulder injury here.

CMLL (SUN) 05/02 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Nocturno b Metalik
2) Thunder Boy & Virgo b Acertijo & Nube Roja

Dorada took falls 1 & 3 to retain. Metalik, acknowledged as his brother, seconded him for this match.

Hector Garza laid down on the mat to give up a fall in the semimain, and opted not to break up pins on his teammates.  In related news, SuperLuchas has an interview with soon to be CMLL World Trios Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi, who likes the Mexican women.

05/03 Perros del Mal results (DF, PPV taping)

PdM (SUN) 05/02 Sala de Armas Magdalena Mixhuca, DF [Alan, The Gladiatores, Estrellas del Ring]
1) Turbo b Black Thunder [NWA MEX LIGHT]
2) Diva Salvaje, el Ángel, Leo b Medussa, Pesadilla, Ragde
3) Mr. Águila b TJP
4) El Hijo de Rey Misterio & Groon XXX b Nova & Oriental
5) Damián 666 b X-Fly, Supreme, Charly Manson, Halloween [hardcore]
6) El Hijo Del Santo, Latin ♥, Marco Corleone b Blue Demon Jr., el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Hijo del Lizmark

This reads like it was the Perro Aguayo show. It’s what you should suspect here, but it seemed that way more than usual.

In the fourth match, Nova & Oriental worked as rudos, and Groon suffered a possible broken ankle. Hijo de Rey picked up the win with a top rope Spanish fly over Nova. The rudos beat up Rey after the match (Groon being strechered out.) After they left, Misterio started to talk, only to be interrupted by the Perros. They welcomed Misterio to the promotion by putting him thru a table.

Supreme was the surprise wrestler in the hardcore match. Probably best that they kept it a surprise. It was worked elimination rules, though the eliminations weren’t so clear live. Supreme pinned X-Fly, and Charly and Halloween took each other out (and were ruled unable to continue) at some point. Perro Jr. made his second appearance by hitting Supreme with a chair, setting up Damian’s win.

Main event pushed Demon/Santo, Lizmark/Marco, and Perro/Latin. Rudos took the first, tecnicos the second. In the third, Latin took out Demon with a dive and Marco did the same with Lizmark. Perro pulled Santo’s mask and pinned him, but Tirantes was distracted. As Perro angrily tried to get his attention, Santo got the camel clutch. According to Estrellas del Ring, Perro refused to give up, but just fell unconscious and Tirantes stopped the match.

After the match, the Perros gave Latin Lover a ten second offer to join their group or get beat up. Latin got a chair, clonked Perro on the head with it, and Perro bled a ton.

No next show was advertised. Vivalalucha does not currently list the main event of this show as part of the PPV, but the rest of the card is on there.

In the undercard, Aguila over TJP sounds like the best match of the night (though the main event was definitely the most over match of the night.) Exotico Diva Salvaje replaced Estrellita, who really hasn’t been on an advertised Perros del Mal card since her debut six weeks ago (so hopefully they’ll stop advertising her already; women’s matches are probably not long for this promotion.) Turbo retained his lightweight title over Black Thunder.

Edit: forget Black Terry Jr.’s pictures.

Signo retirement, hair losses, more invaders, Volador pins Mistico, Mesias

elsewhere: I’ll be appearing on Figure Four Daily this upcoming Tuesday afternoon. I believe it’ll be subscriber only, but it is supposed to be a week of lucha guests if that affects your decision to subscribe.

indy (SAT) 05/01 Arena Neza [Estrellas del RingThe Gladiatores]
0) Mixteco Jr. b Challenger
1) Alan Extreme, Hermano Muerte, Keshin Black b Ángel de la Noche, Dinamic Black, Vuelo Espacial
2) Cocolores, Cósmico, Diamante Azul, Super Electra b Comando Negro, Crazy Boricua, Dark Zombie, Redentor
3) Solar I & Ultraman b Black Terry & Negro Navarro
4) Canek, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 b El Fantasma, Último Guerrero, Villano III
5) Halcón Dorado Jr. L Hijo del Signo and Ultramán Jr. and Rambo and Tauro de Creta andFishman Jr. and Hijo del Solar and Hijo de Canek and el Signo and Villano IV [cage, hair]

On his retirement show, el Signo’s son beat Halcon Dorada Jr. for his hair. Ultimo Guerrero filled in for Dos Caras Sr. (??) and was feuding with Canek thru the match. Canek got away with a foul on Fantasma for the win, then challenged UG for a mask match.

The Perros hadn’t posted results from Tijuana’s show when I wrote this – a little busy, I guess – but I do know X-Fly and Halloween lost their hair on that show. Halloween accidentally hit X-Fly to cost him his match versus Charly Manson, and X-Fly accidentally hit Halloween when he was trying to climb out the cage, giving Super Nova the win. Nova wasn’t advertised for that match, so presumably the CMLL Invaders were not on this show after all and change were made.

No word on results yet from tonight’s Perros show either, but that should all turn up by midday tomorrow.

CMLL (SUN) 05/02 Arena Mexico [Cesar, @cmllmagazine]
1) Bengala, Metálico, Trueno DQ Camorra, Cholo, Zayco
2) Dr. X, Puma King, Tiger Kid DQ Ángel Azteca Jr., Diamante, Fabián el Gitano
3) Blue Panther, Metro, SagradoEuforia, Vangelis, Virus
4) Brazo de Plata, La Sombra, Toscano DQ El Alebrije, Histeria, Psicosis
5) Volador Jr.Místico

Mistico worked as a rudo thru the main event, but Volador used a distraction (pointing to a interloper on the stage – no one was actually there) to pull off Mistico’s mask and small package him for the win. They challenged and accepted a mask match. That’d be neat! I’m not holding my breath!

Didn’t thing about this until reading Cesar’s recap, but I don’t know about the logic of using Brazo de Plata in your serious invasion angle. Anyway, the Independent army was reenforced by Hermanos Dinamtias – Mascara Ano 2000 & Universo 2000 – who ran in and attacked for the third fall DQ. With these guys now apparently involved, we’ve got a weird situation of Mascara Ano 2000 on a CMLL show on Sunday, and facing AAA’s notWagnerManiacos on Thursday.

Fabian yanked off Dr. X’s mask for a DQ in retaliation for previous mask pullings the other way. Fabian said he was willing to be a rudo to make his point, and challenged mask vs mask again, and Dr. X seemed okay with it before everyone else started throwing in their challenges. Dr. X vs Fabian seems like the prime feud here.

Trueno was hurt in the opener, but his side still won via excessive violence DQ.

A new Kato Kung Lee was introduced on the show.

AAA notes Vampiro helping Zorro reveals him to be Zorro’s mystery friend from recent TV episodes. They really like doing mystery people in shadows lately. Anyway, if they’re going to push that partnership, maybe the TripleMania match is Vamprio/Zorro vs Cibernetico/? (Mesias if healthy?)

Mesias did appear on Saturday’s AAA show in Puebla, but only to apologize for being hurt and announce Rocky Romero as his replacement.

Estrellas del Ring has interviews with aspiring luchadoras Ludark & Sexy Lady.

DJ Spectro has an interview with the original Maquina Salvaje, and other photos & notes from a Mask Expo.

Cronicas Y Leyendas looks back at Satoru Sayama vs Ringo Mendoza from the 49th Anniversary show.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

SuperLuchas #362 has Dos Caras Jr. on the cover. Judging from comments in the latest WON and Dos working dark matches constantly, he’s going to be on WWE TV very soon. It’ll be interesting to see if he puts the mask back on when they tour Mexico. He hasn’t had it on in the dark matches, and he surely won’t if he doesn’t wear it on TV.

06/04 Arena Mexico Lineup (Inferno en el Ring, unconfirmed)

CMLL (FRI) 06/04 Arena Mexico
1) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero vs Histeria II, Maniaco, Psicosis II
2) Héctor Garza vs Hijo del FantasmaMísticoLa SombraVolador Jr.Felino [cage, hair, mask]

CMLL has not confirmed this lineup, but KrisZ says he’s heard this from a trusted source, and KrisZ is a trusted source, so we go with it. This far out, plans are liable to change, but this works with what they’ve set up recently.

Inferno en el Ring is the June cage match, so we would expect a match like that in the main event. It seems unlikely that whatever is going with the Tuareg/Cats/CMLL Fuerza Aerera/Dancers is leading to a cage match if they’re already doing this one. I don’t know if that means that will end up being some giant Russian roulette tournament, or just one singles match, or they just don’t have any plan and this will last all the way until September.
