CMLL held a press conference today, mostly for the Invader’s sake. Hector Garza was officially introduced as part of the group; it looks like Garza & Aguila may be co-leaders at the moment. To solve the problem of the clearly biased CMLL referee, the Indepedentes have their own referee: Tirantes Senor, of course.
June 6th was announced as a CMLL vs Invader show, not so coincidentally going up against TripleMania. They only announced the main event (or at least one match, which I figure is the main event), and what a match it is: Strong Man, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Super Porky vs Giant Benard, Mascara Ano 2000, Universo 2000. That’d be a good match for Fox Sports to get! No word on the rest of the card, but we’ve got enough guys already to fill out two more trios matches (Psicosis, Histeria, Alebrije, Maniaco, Olimpico, Monsther – though he hasn’t been mentioned much since that first appearance.) They need about five more guys to fill out a card.
On that note, Zumbido tells Fuego en el Ring that he’s coming back to CMLL in a month or a month in a half. At any other time, it’d come off as empty talk to stir up interest (like when he did the same interview in February, or the times before that), but he is a name that’s been brought up for returning and would fit in with the Indepedent group. A month or six weeks is a little late for a show in three weeks.
There are clips of the AAA TV taping on the Box Y Lucha board.
Satanico responds to Solar, saying he never called himself the right hand of Diablo Velasco, just one of many people caring on his legacy, but would be open to a Solar/Satanico singles match for the 51st Arena Coliseo Guadalajara anniversary show.
Olimpico is very happy to be back with CMLL. He doesn’t care who he faces or where they put him on the card, he just wants to stay in CMLL long after the CMLL/Invader storyline ends.
DTU has listed third card for next Sunday. Besides the usual collection of guys, there’s also Cuervo & Espiritu vs the Traumas, and Ultimo Gladiador and Fabian el Gitano on opposite sides of a trios match.
Hernandez was back at this week’s TNA tapings, so he may not be long for AAA.
La Parka Jr., Octagon, Kenzo Suzuki, Alex Koslov, Chessman and the Psycho Circus visited a children’s hospital.
Maldito Jr. & Ninja de Fuego won the vacant Hidalgo Tag Team titles.
El Hijo del Santo is described as “a bit slow at times, but impeccable dressed” for his speech at the Tijuana book fair.
The Gladiatores has a video interview with Black Warrior about joining Los Perros.
R de Rudo has video interviews with Insane & Extremoso.
Juventud Guerrera has an interviw with Hijo de Rey Misterio.
Rob has a review of Dos Leyendas 2010, and random matches from CMLL, IWRG and ACM. Rob also twitter that Leo left the Perros del Mal, surely changing the landscape of lucha libre, but I can’t find the post about it.
LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.
Ras de Lona #98 has the new trios champs. I wonder what they’re doing for #100?

Ummm… you broke the Leo news when you posted the 5/25 GDL lineup.:)
@Rob: Oh, no, that’s a different (Principe) Leo(n), where no one can decide on the name.
Has Dos Leyendas aired anywhere in Mexico?
@LLL: As far as I know, CMLL has yet to air anything from Dos Leyendas.
Am I the only one who thinks that Tirantes Sr. leaving the Perros is a great thing for that promotion? He provided them with easy/bad/repetitive booking for the top half of the card on every show. I’m not saying that his departure will solve all of those problems, but it at least makes it slightly more likely that they won’t run the same rudo ref bits every match. He should work much better here since his role can actually make a little more sense in the invasion angle.
With that being said, the Aguila jump far outweighs it in terms of news for the Perros. Its the worst thing to happen since the Record show last year.
