IWRG on Teleformula #25 (04/24/2010)

Arena Naucalpan, 04/18/2010

* el Ángel, La Roca, Suicida vs Oficial 911, Oficial Fierro, Veneno (part 2) – La Roca is not good, and this match spent the first six minutes with Veneno and La Roca wrestling. So there’s that.

* Canek & Máscara Año 2000 Jr. vs Pirata Morgan & Scorpio Jr. in a relevos suicidas match – they resulting singles match had two different visual pinfalls to protect Canek, which was actually about three less than I was expecting. Theat match was still hilariously one sided as well.

Teleformula has not aired a new episode since this one, and I don’t feel like I missing much.

05/25 CMLL Arena Mexico & Guadalajara lineups

CMLL (TUE) 05/25 Arena Mexico
1) Camaleón & Horus vs Apocalipsis & Cholo
2) Ángel Azteca, Fabián el Gitano, Leono vs Bronco, Durango Kid, Inquisidor
3) Estrella Mágica, Lady Apache, Marcela vs Amapola, La Seductora, Princesa Sujei
4) La Máscara, Sagrado, Toscano vs Averno, Ephesto, Vangelis
5) La Sombra, Místico, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero

La Sombra, Mistico, Volador, the Super Sky Team, has not teamed up as a trio since 12/18/2009. Anything happen since them? (Maybe this is just part of setting up a tag team title match and Mistico will turn on his teammates. But it’s still so annoying.)

CMLL (TUE) 05/25 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Acertijo & Nube Roja vs Thunder Boy & Tondar
2) Metatrón & Virgo vs In Memoriam & León Blanco
3) Hierro, Leo, Palacio Negro vs Drago, Ebola, Ráfaga
4) Máscara Dorada & Strong Man vs Mephisto & Último Guerrero
5) Brazo de Plata vs Asesino Negro [hair]

A week later, the hair match is still on. Mephisto running in this week makes sense if they had that tag match planned (though Maximo really should be in Dorada’s spot.)

Taichi beats Mascara, Olimpico returns in GDL, GdA beat SkyTeam, gunfire @ ACM

CMLL (MON) 05/17 Arena Puebla [Sportimes, CMLL]
1) Ares, Barbaro I, Policeman b King Jaguar, Silver, Tigre Rojo
2) Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Nosferatu b Metálico, Starman, Trueno
3) Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura b Fuego, Metro, Rush
4) Taichi b La Máscara
5) Atlantis, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Último Guerrero b Héctor Garza, Shocker, Strong Man

A rudo night! Rudos won the main in straight falls when Garza turned on his teammates again.

Taichi puled off La Mascara’s mask for the win, and Mascara challenged for a mask vs hair match. That seems in the realm of possibilities over the next few months.

Silver was making his Monday Arena Puebla debut, though his name has turned up a few times before. Silver was wearing a mostly red outfit (though there was a silver design.)

CMLL (TUE) 05/18 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Thunder Boy & Tondar b Cerveruz & In Memoriam
2) Acertijo & León Blanco b El Divino & Virgo
3) Asesino Negro & Exterminador b Hierro & Palacio Negro
4) Strong Man, Stuka Jr., Toscano b Ephesto, Felino, Mephisto
5) Máximo DQ Último Guerrero

Maximo took the first, Ultimo Guerrero took the second. Maximo took UG out with a dive, crawled back into the ring, and was jumped by the returning Olimpico. Mephisto also came out to help beat up Maximo for the DQ, and Strong Man ran the rudos off. Olimpico/Strong Man is a possibility. Unclear if Olimpico is coming in as an Invader from the Independents (as was rumored after Aguila’s jump) or if he’s just rejoining the Guerreros.

Olimpico jumped to join the Perros just as they were starting, figuring out too late that they weren’t going to any more with him than CMLL did except give him a lot less bookings. He turned up in IWRG and other promotions, and it appeared to be a deal where he’d work shows that’d give his son (Exodia) a match as well. Exodia retired last week, so that’s no longer a consideration, but Olimpico had months ago asked to CMLL to take him back in one of the magazines.

Olimpico was supposed to be in Guadalajara for an Apolo Dantes show, but was replaced by Jaque Mate Jr. (who set up a title match with Huracan Ramirez for next week.)

CMLL (TUE) 05/18 Arena Mexico [@cmllmagazine]
1) Bengala & Freesbe b Camorra & Cholo
2) Metatrón, Tigre Blanco, Valiente DQ Apocalipsis, Bronco, Semental
3) Cancerbero, Euforia, Raziel b Diamante, Molotov, Rey Cometa
4) Blue Panther, Delta, Sagrado b Dragón Rojo Jr., Texano Jr., Virus
5) Atlantis, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero b Brazo de Plata, La Sombra, Volador Jr.

Atlantis & Rey Bucanero got the tag champions clean. Hmmmm.

Not a lot else going on here. Valiente replaced Leono in the segunda, which is just an unreal replacement. Tecnicos took that match in straight falls, Bronco fouling Valiente in the second. Smart move, try feuding with a guy two matches above you to see if they move you up!

Freesbe gets a match here once every six months. Pencil down him for the 12/14/2010 opener.

Last night, right outside of Arena Coliseo Monterrey and just before the show ended, a man was chased by gunmen, wounded, and pulled into a car. In the building, everyone could hear loud gunfire and explosions. Wonder if this will make TV?

Perros del Mal are now listing their May 30th and May 31st shows as TV tapings. Being Perros del Mal, these are near identical cards.

Mr. Aguila says he’s leaving Perros del Mal because he wants to be a bigger star. Perros del Mal are hyping up Black Warrior as a brand new signing to replace Aguila.

Mistico and Volador headline in Tijuana this Saturday.

IWRG’s card changed Sunday’s card to put Cibernetico and Hernandez on opposite teams, which seems to defeat the point of AAA vs IWRG. Olimpico is scheduled for the main event, and guys who’ve run in CMLL shows have still made their IWRG bookings so far, but this one might be a bit more iffy. IWRG appears to have changed their logo, though I’m not a big fan of the new design.

The local Box Y Lucha commission is threatening a heavy fine if Silver King wears his mask there on Saturday, for the TV taping. Hope the Black Family brings extra paint again. They’re also promising fines for crowd brawling.

Proyeccion Luchistica has interviews with Fly Star and Jack.

Sexi Star talked yesterday about her appearance in a National Geographic series about the differences between Latin American countries. Episodes start airing this weekend, but not sure when her episode is on.

Mr. Aguila is headed to Panama at the end of July.

Box Y Lucha #2974 has LA Park offering to put up both his name and his mask at TripleMania. It’ll only be the name. In his Figure Four Daily interview, Konnan suggested the LA Park/La Parka mask match might not take place until next year’s TripleMania, or the year after that.

LuchaWorld has a superb first issue of their new Month in Review.

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 05/24 Arena Puebla
1) Mr. Rafaga, Sauron, Toro Bill Jr. vs Black Tiger, Blue Center, Centella de Oro
2) Mortiz, Nitro, Zayco vs Astro Boy, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sensei
3) Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito vs Bam Bam, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada
4) Hiroshi Tanahashi, Shigeo Okumura, Taichi vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Último Guerrero
5) Héctor Garza & Místico vs Strong Man & Volador Jr. [Relevos Increíbles]

That should be a unique main event. Tanahashi’s Puebla bookings seem like someone from Japan making a list of everyone he needs to face off for magazine photos. That should be a really good minis match. Nitro is sort of slumming it up.

AAA on Televisa #935 (04/24/2010)

Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera, 03/19/2010

* Taiji Ishimori & Takeshi Morishima vs Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario for the AAA World Tag Team Championship: so, after the match where the whole idea is using a chair is illegal, this is a match with the same ref and the same team and all sorts of chair spots. Some days, I dislike AAA. Other days, I hate AAA.

Even besides, this match wasn’t much good.

* Cibernético, Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Alex Koslov, Hernandez, Kenzo Suzuki, Zorro: They’re trying to get Hernandez over, which is nice in the idea that at least they’re trying to get someone over, but not nice because TNA surely will want Hernandez back in a couple months and nothing will have been accomplished by then.

* El Mesías, La Parka Jr., Octagón vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Pimpinela Escarlata, Silver King (part 2): an interminable AAA main event, going much longer than needed. Neat to see Pimpinela throw himself into being a rudo, at least.
